    Thanks for your video. I bought a copy of this and I think it will take some getting used to. It’s very stripped down, but it’s great to have it with you when you need a little versatility. If you shoot in raw there are a number of software options to deal with the noise. I still like the images better than the over processed stuff you get from your phones.

    I've been using this camera for several years now, and in many things it's great. Amazing zoom range, decent sharpness in good light, relatively small size. In moderate to low light, it's terrible, dynamic range is also pretty bad, but for the price, it's amazing.
    Recently i found my good old Fujifilm S5500 (20 years old now), and it is still working, i was surprised how much sharper, faster it is. Sure it's really outdated, but i forgot how much fun it was. With the FZ80, i constantly have to keep in mind what to avoid. It's like an overly sensitive friend where you need to be extra careful. While the S5500 is just a good old buddy who you can trust and you know he won't get mad for some dumb jokes.
    It's a great camera, but i don't love it. I need to find the perfect conditions for its taste, and the pictures will look amazing. Anything else, and the results will look cheap, even with a ton of work in post.
    However, an old macro lens i had fits perfectly to it, so i can take really nice close up pictures!
    Currently thinking about upgrading to the RX10 IV, that might be a great choice without having to carry a ton of stuff with me.

    Yay I found this video with a night shots, so what i can say this one reminds me a lot of canon p600 , especialy that it's shows dark at the low light condition, and it a bit upsets me that even iphone is brigther, even start thinking that nowadays phones as samsung s23/24 ultra with 10× optical and 100x digital can beat it at night.... it would be pefect camera if only sensour could pick more light. But i just love this size it's just perfect size, but sensor... only left to have a look is lumix z1000, well let see. Thanks again

    • @techtoremember8096

      Yes it is a small sensor and low light isnt the best! Look at the FZ300 if you'd like a little better low light. Zoom isn't as long though!

      @@techtoremember8096 yah I'm tuned to your chanel , you making it interesting to watch 👍, yeah i was thinking of something with good zoom but p950 or p1000 is pricy even on used market, watn to filming wild life here in Canada but don't want to get to close to tge bears or folves 😅 ... i saw the video where one guy compared p1000 with smartphone samsung s24 ultra, that thing get pretti close just after 30x stsrting looks like a phone with all that pexel artifacts....so i figured that some of real optic cameras would be the better choice to get closer to p1000, fz80 so far cheapest and has biger zoom for the video it looks pretty decent jus when you filmed ducks in a shade tgere absolutley no colrors or details all black, but this sony400v is way brigther in that scenario, but agai fz never and able to do a timelapse 👍, is fz80 has a darker imege than p950..1000 ? Cause in video where you compared p1000 vs SonyRX p1000 also was dark, so if FZ80 same dark at night as p1000, that's actualy good in that term that i just would buy somethin with a bit smaller zoom, but much cheaper ... But agai with 400v when you compare it to fz80 sony400v was so sharp aspecialy at the helloween party .. and zf was blury in the park during the day... jeez who would know that it will be so difficult to choose a camera 😅

      @techtoremember8096  Год назад +2

      Hi, thanks for the comment!- I wish I could give you a definitive answer on your question, which is an excellent one by the way, but I have not yet reviewed that camera, nor have I ever tried it. What I can tell you is that it offers some nice advantages over the FZ80 especially the tilting screen. Its also smaller and more pocketable. I will go under the assumption that it will probably have a similar image quality to the FZ80 being that they are both Panasonic cameras, and are using similar sensors.That camera also has the fancy 4k photo modes, focus stacking and bells and whistles of the FZ80 too! So the big difference is the form factor and the zoom. For some people the smaller cameras are less pleasurable to use because of the smaller dials and controls, especially if they have bigger hands. Some people are using the camera for really long distance shooting and aviation photography and in those case they wouldn't want to give up the 1200mm but if you don't need that much reach (and most of us don't) then the model you mentioned might be a viable option. I hope to get around to reviewing it one day, (am working on a few others right now)......but thanks for your question and for your comment- its much appreciated!!

    Thanks for a very interesting and fun review. I am still tossing up between the Canon SX70HS and now this one. I am very interested to know which one you think would be the better? I have found a new FZ80 at a reasonable price, but price is not my major concern, rather simply which is just the better option. Thank you in advance. Cheers.

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there . Thanks for the comment! That's a very good question: I think the Canon is a better constructed camera. The rear screen tilts which I think is a big plus, the viewfinder is bigger clearer and not finicky like the Panasonic. The Panasonic feels more "plasticky" and cheap honestly. However, I think the images and videos the FZ80 produces edge out the Canon. I think the stabilization is better on the FZ80 too. So if picture quality is most important to you, then the FZ80 is the way to go. But if you think the quirks in the FZ80 might annoy you, the Canon is also a good option in that it is more of a solid camera but lacking a bit in low light, noise and stabilization. You may want to also check out the Sony X400V which I reviewed if you don't need 4k video that is also a good option for a reasonably priced superzoom.

      Thank you for your considered comments. I really appreciate them, and your time. I currently have a Canon EOS 700D, with original lens and 55-250mm lens, but also looking for a bigger zoom for wildlife and easier to carry when travelling. I am by no means a great photographer, just enjoy taking photos and now having figured out how to use the manual mode, rather than automatic settings, finding it more interesting. For some reason, I am leaning towards the Canon, but I will check out the Sony as suggested. Again, thank you.@@techtoremember8096

    Hi , I got a question. I am new to plane spotting. I liked your video on Sony fed Ax53 and Nikon cool pix p1000. Which one would you recommend? Or is there any other that you would recommend for plane spotting videos ?

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  Год назад +2

      Hey there. Well, the Nikon P1000 has a far greater zoom than the Sony AX53, so for spotting planes, the Nikon would be a better choice. You might also want to consider the Nikon P950 if you want something lighter but you'll lose a littler zoom reach (2000mm vs. 3000mm)

    • @RankupAviation
      @RankupAviation Год назад

      @@techtoremember8096 thank you 🙏. I did saw your videos on p950 also. Will it zoom quick enough to follow a moving aircraft landing or takeoff ? I would be needing around 200mm to 500m. And please recommend a tripod. Currently I have a cheap Amazon branded tripod which I use with my iPhone 😀

    • @techtoremember8096
      @techtoremember8096  Год назад +2

      The P950 zoom is pretty snappy. There is also a feature to program the zoom to make it go faster and to specific points in the zoom. My video on the zoom features of the camera goes into detail on the zoom and zoom speeds so you can see if it fits your needs for aircraft photography. Tripods --there are many many choices depending on your budget. If you search tripods, a good manufacturer is Bogen or Manfroto. They make good tripods at many different price points but that would be better than a cheap Amazon one. best of luck.

      1. Optical is to add telephoto lt55
      2. With optical, crop from sensor and i zoom if you set 16:9 and 2mp you get about 3144mm maximum, but with only optical and crop 2446mm you will get a clear and sharp image (in comparison with full 18mp in 2400 izoom).
      But now I somehow get about 3669mm with izoom and 2mp, not sure how, but now i see even this is possible :) p.s sorry for mistakes, eng not my 1st language.
