I blessed myself with the SX70. THIS YEAR. Could not be happier . I was dealing with a tiny 20x zOom and most things I wanted were like 22 . Then i got the wonderful Canon. Now all my favorite critters are walking or flying straight up to me in the woods . First day walked right up to an all white Egret at 20 yards. Next day 5 red raccoons. I'm in heaven.
I have the canon, and fz150, fz200, fz300, and fz2500. For me the winner is fz300. It’s an absolute sleeper…with a fixed screen, the fz80d isn’t even a contender. Really appreciate your videos.
On this chanel i saw video about fz300 you can also have a look it's brighter then canon or fz80, Now i aslo have a dilema i have almost in the same price fz80 fz300 and fz1000 with 1 inch sensor, so still haven't decited cause I'm planing do wild life video, so long zoom of fz80 would be a plus, but then fz300 has 2 times shorter zoom, but it's weather proof and has mic 3.5 jack, abd then fz1000 it's 1 inch but has shorter zoom then fz80 and fz300, but it's bigger in size, and i saw a video comparation with fz80 fz1000 you can zoom and crop the video on computer to the same size as fz80 has at 1300mm , and even with that the picture would be cleaner... only thing is 100 dolars more, fz80 for200$ fz300 for300$ anf fz1000 also 300$ .... stil thinking wich one is actualy better, and maybe one day someone could compare all three fz80 fz300 vs fz1000 in zoom and if later fz1000 crop and zoom on pc to the same 1200mm size... So yeay fz300 is better at night then fz80 for sure, it's actualy closser to fz1000 which has a 1" sensor @@booshipvideo5513
FZ300 is a really great camera in hardware specs for sure but i will say it has "only" 12 megapixels so the pictures are "small" and not so impressive for today standard. It takes very good 4K footage with good stabilization but autofocus is atrociously SLOW in video mode. I have noticed also that 1080p video is blurry and below the quality of FZ80, TZ90, FZ1000 or Canon's SX60HS.
I bought the Canon 3 months ago. Looked at a lot of comparison videos annd all the stats. First camera I have bought in 20 years so I was thorough. These are the reason I bought it over the Lumix. 1. Flip screen (Can take pictures over people without being 7 ft tall to see screen. Can take pictures around trees etc. 2. Macro is better 3 Canon has a 15 sec long shutter speed while lumix has only 4 sec ( good for night sky pics and good for light trails and moving water all with tripod) 4. More robust camera body. (I don't recommend it but it fell out of my flimsy bag onto concrete stairs. I couldn't believe it. I expected the absolute worst. Somehow zero damage. - I now have larger and better neck strap, uv lens, shoulder bag ) 5. The colour and contrast of the Canon seemed much better for me. 6. Ability to plug in an external mic ( can use a lapel mic or a mic on short firm cord that can be bent towards sound source and stay there. 7. The wifi didn't interest me, but it is an available option and with practice I can share pics with loved ones quickly without going to a computer. 8. Doesn't need a hot shoe, though a better flash would have been helpful. I learnt about aperature priority, shutter speed priority, iso control etc and have taken some decent hand held night time (low light ) people shots (great for people standing still ), so the camera out of auto mode is better and more fun. 9. 65 times zoom is the real reason I bought this type of camera. in comparison at full zoom image seemed clearer. Tripod fixes shake It's a compromise camera, as I believe all are. None do everything. I can't expect perfection but for me it is brilliant in everything I want or could ever want it to do. It comes down to my skill orr luck how great a pic it is. I don't use post production of any pics..seems like cheating to me
They're pretty close. But the articulating screen on the Canon would make the difference for me. It's a more expensive camera but worth saving up a bit more for that much more versatile panel. Great comparison video, well done.
Great comparison video, as usual! I have the original FZ80 and from what i see here the new D version behave the exact same. In 4K video mode at max zoom it have that annoying wobbling and jumping shakiness like the older one. I discover that this jelly effect is present in bright sunlight shooting while disappears when overcast, cloudy day. Canon 70HS have sharper and tighter footage at maximum zoom while FZ80 after 600mm progressively deteriorates the picture quality a lot due to cheap lens. Cheers!
Hi there, Thanks for the comment! That's interesting what you noticed about the wobbling effect. Since I believe this is a result of the stabilization I am thinking that maybe its more noticeable under bright conditions? But its an interesting observation that you make. Thanks for sharing
Looks like the Panasonic is the better bargain due to the price difference, unless you like to take macro photos, and then the Canon gets the nod. The one thing I don't get is why these Camera companies choose to have their super-zooms start extra wide. More reach is always appreciated in cameras like this, especially for wildlife. Imagine a 35x60 going out to 2,100mm instead of 1,200.
That's a great point. I think the reasoning is they are thinking to have an "all in one" camera for travel. So if you are on a vacation and you want a wide shot, you can get that too. But yes, for wildlife you don't need that as much. Good point!
Very informative comparison! I just started to buy a few older bridge cameras. Like all bridge cameras there is always going to be compromises. But I am surprised how bad the Canon Ibis is bad, I known when zooming, one should always use a tripod or monopod. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful Yes I did a review of the Canon a couple years ago and I was surprised too, Canon has very good stabilization on their more expensive cameras. They just cheaped out with this one and that's too bad.
Hey there. Thanks for the comment! I have a Sony A7R5 that I use to shoot in the studio.Compliment is appreciated. Well, yes you are right. The cameras being reviewed are much lighter and easier to travel with with integrated lenses and are significantly cheaper so its for an entirely different market. Have a great day.

Thanks very much! Yes the 300 really is underrated and its a same Panasonic discontinued it. Very unique camera indeed!
Hi, yes I am actually working on a complete bridge camera comparison video so stay tuned!
Just bought a Panasonic FZ80D and this video is so helpful! Thank You! Happy New Year!
Great to hear !! Happy new year to you too ! Hope you enjoy the camera

I know it’s more expensive but I would love to see a comparison with the P1000 just out of interest.

Any urban foxes in NYC ? Here in Bristol UK lots of them
Oh yes, NYC is filled with them! Glad to hear you have your fair share in the UK!
Great comparison - thank you :)
Much appreciated ! Thanks for the comment
Panasonic consistently delivers amazing cameras at a good price
Thank you for the great compassion video, very thorough and entertaining 👍
Do you share the jpeg and raw sample images anywhere please?
Thank you very much. Unfortunately I haven't set up a system to share photos yet but I have it on my list!
@@techtoremember8096 No worries. Thank you for replying.
What are you recording yourself with, in the studio? That looks really good! These cameras are toys in comparison with your studio camera.

I would get the Nikon P950.
The long zoom is only useful when there is good stabilisation, so for me the Panny wins.
i am looking for a new bridge cam, because our sony hx400v broke down after 7 years. thanks alot for this comparism.
Well it was good timing then! Thanks for the comment
Not huge fan of Cannon but like to see your videos
Thanks !
Dropping WiFi on the FZ80D is a strange decision.
It seriously is
Both cameras are big compromise for todays standards.
Not worth to buy it today. smartphone has much more clearer in low light video, only not zoom that far.
Because zoom is the reason you buying those cameras, Sherlock.
And the winner is? I taped on this to find out ? Heavily make your own mind up
For some, by watching the entire video the winner becomes clear. For others, they draw the opposite conclusion.
