Great video. Hopefully I'll try to hand wrestle my lovely wife to have it as a Christmas stocking this year. Greetings from sunny Puerto Rico and happy Holidays to you and loved ones!
1) The camera demonstrates the best performance and stabilization in "Sport" mode. 2) The camera lens unit has three motors with worm shafts. Over time, the silicone grease thickens and accumulates on the edges of the shafts. As a result, the camera loses focus at macro distances, and at the telephoto end, the focus may get stuck in one of the extreme positions, causing the camera to display an error. I disassembled the camera, removed the three motors, cleaned the shafts, and applied new silicone grease. After this, the camera's autofocus started working well, and image stabilization improved.
Do you think Panasonic HC-X1500 better but its bigger tho, there is a smaller new general use model called VX3, but it doesnt have buikd in light like yours, do yours can dl night vision?
The HC-X1500 is more "professional." The VX3 is newer than the 981 and looks like a great camcorder, but a little pricier. It all depends on your needs.
@@вечная_мерзлота really, i see, but is build in mic really is high quality and will not just make you want to have a external mic at the end even it is 5.1? I dreamed to own a camcorder since my teen age and now i'm 29 still haven't own one, I do like the number 1500 better tho because it has the number 15 which i like in it and it has night vision mode. Plus it only get to 4K30p and not 60p and X1500 can get to 4K60p. Can I design a logo for your channel and when you want to post videos of the camera on youtube, you will have a dedicated branding to attract more viewers and it can help me to afford one X1500/VX3 soon too? :-)
Markus pix talks wonders about this camera. I was trying to get me one but i see a couple things i dont like about it. 1) i dont like the lack of stabilization. I know It has some, but is not perfect. 2) i dont like the short optical zoom on it, i know there's more in digital but is kind of grainy.
@@yoursforeverpeeps Markus Pix is who turned me on to it. It’s not the best of course. For a little more money you can get newer models with higher zoom. As far as stabilization, I’m bot sure. I know some of the post editing software out there does wonders or perhaps a gimbal could help, but it’s really just a fun point and shoot deal. Thanks!

Thank you, friend! I’m also trying out the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. It’s also great so far, but does not zoom like the Panasonic VX981.
Hi I just bought this camera!!! Thanks for the review
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it!
Shoukd i even get camcorder tho if i tend to record but rarely go back and watch them?
It all depends on your personal preference and why you record. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll be sure to watch for that over time. Are there any draw backs to shooting in sports mode?
