Seen both sides of the fence. The Automatic shifts faster than a human can and I haven't seen an automatic over revving the engine. The Auto shifts very fast at the rpm red line. BUT, the manual is fun to drive
In my C5 z06 I can hammer 1-2 upshifts like and automatic as well as 3-4 upshifts but I take a little pause on the 2-3. Certainly could outperform the manual in this vid.

I couldn't agree more. I have a c6 and 2 to 3 is a little tricky and needs to prefect RPM but 1-2 & 3-4 are a blink
I'm just here to report a tragic event: a 73 year old Mexican backed in to my 2016 Z06 today. And NO, he didn't have any insurance.
Whoever driving the manual doesn't know how to shift it right. That corvette shifts whyyyyyyyy faster than that.
