Watch SENNA: SHADOW'S EMBRACE - • Senna: Shadow’s Embrac...
League of Legends wife-guy Lucian has finally managed to knife his wife back to life. And as it turns out, this whole thing was set up almost 2 years ago in another animated teaser, and I'm sure Riot are feeling VERY smug about it right now.
Still, lots of good animation on display here - let's have a look at it!
#Senna #LeagueOfLegends #League10 - Развлечения
Lucian ignores thresh and focus on the lantern..
That means the lantern is the enemy ADC. New champion confirmed: luminere, the blazing light
Wriggles lantern is coming back baby!!!!
What if URF the manatee will be released as a real champion this time around?
@hi hungry i'm dad "Be distressed, be distressed; we'll be laying you to rest. Put our fingers 'round your neck, cherie, and give up on your quest."
Well if we're going by game logic Lucian is likely entering this 1v1 with a 3rd of his mana, probably half health and having already spent his ult on a minion wave on his Climb up to Thresh's arena. Even a Thresh going full support should be able to overpower him in that state especially a fresh from spawn one as presented in the video.
Report lucian going 1v1 after wasting mana on cs
nah, it is a adc thresh. that is way he lost
Unless lucian builds bork anyway. Could just auto.
Thresh can go crit and just one shot
Thresh probably also has a thousand souls by now in universe. That's like, 750 armor, 750 ability power, and 750 extra damage on flay at the very least. Thresh is damn powerful.
"No Thresh in the world could win a 1v1 against Lucian." Someone has never seen an AD Thresh in his ARAM games.
Woah, who's that in your profile pic?
I find it interesting that Thresh's main effect color is Green, while Lucian and Senna make up the two primaries that create Green (Blue and Yellow respectively)
Cyan*
LBcrafter_ BG what, he’s talking about their abilitiy effects. Thresh releases this green flame, Lucian’s dash is blue, and senna’s projectile shield is yellow
@@lushbread075 I know, I was making a primary color joke about how blue is actually not the primary color, Cyan is
You know with Senna's cover story reveling they are going after the ruined king it made me realize that Lucian and the Ruined king are fairly similar characters in that they became incredible self destructive when they lost their wives
I guess the main difference is that Lucian actually managed to get his wife back.
And that's why bork first item is the most effective on Lucian xD
@@megamage911 the ruin king did too then he blew up the blessed iles soo maybe its gonna blow up again
Xayah will die and Rakan will become the ultimate champion confirmed, then.
Expanding on a comment that you made about Thresh's colors:
The characters that are perceived to be more on the evil side seem to have a greener glow. This is seen in our resident "I want to collect the souls of the dead" Thresh and "I want the exact same thing, but to also take over the world" Mordekaiser.
Hecarim also has green, but it's mixed with the blue glow, implying that he is not entirely in either direction. In his story, even if his ambition gets the better of him, he does want to serve. I don't believe that his ambition is power-hunger, but rather a frustration because he believes he could run things better than Kalista (Someone feel free to debunk me here if I have this wrong.)
Meanwhile, Kalista, Maokai, and Yorrick have almost entirely a blue glow, implying them to be good and that fits in with their stories.
Karthus is almost entirely gray, because he has no particular allegiance, as death doesn't really pick sides. More so, while he is obviously a horror to everyone he meets from their perspective, Karthus does think he's doing good. So assigning him a color and thus an allegiance would be weird to say the least.
Lastly, Elise doesn't have a color coming off of her like the rest do, but there is blue behind her. I would venture to say that Elise is smarter than to go anywhere near Thresh, Mordekaiser, or Hecarim, so she stays in an area where things are peaceful (at least relative to the Shadow Isles) in order to do her thing in peace without messing with the power players. Meanwhile, Yorrick has no beef with her as she doesn't know anything. Kalista probably isn't aware of her existence, and she's not hurting nature so Maokai doesn't care either.
Just interesting visual story-telling.
One of the intriguing lore things I got out of this trailer was that the Relic guns aren't the source of the power. They can only channel the light withing the shooter to destroy the darkness. This also leads me to believe that the relic guns may be made of petricite.
The relic guns are most definitely petricite, but with some sort of self-regenerating light magic.
petricite in itself absorbs magic so most likely lucian's guns absorb magic from the area around him then he releases it
@@danteyr1 that is possible but it is mentioned in lore that they are fired by will power, hence why they don't have triggers.
@@Hucksterjoe it doesn't Directly contradict the idea of them having magic it just means that Lucian himself has magic
i mean Lucian is originally Demacian so it makes much sense
Thresh never actually hits Lucian in the ribs. So that is still the same injury that was bothering Lucian in "Homebound". 37:23 As a lore fan that makes me very happy ^^
And I feel like Senna's look of determination in the end might be her realizing what she has to do now, which is (Spoiler alert if you haven't read Senna's bio) to find the Ruined King. 43:47
Lucians gun is the one that broke, it's the less fancy one, in his left. The more fancy one is in his right from the start
Yes, in Homebound, Lucian describles both guns and tell us that his gun (the simpler one) is damaged. Comparing both on the cinematic, we can see that the more fancy one is the remaining one at the end.
Boi, full ad thresh can easily one shot Lucian with an AA, I've done that multiple times so let's just assume that thresh chose a different item loadout for this fight and that's why he stands such a high chance against an adc.
Yeah, I was playing with my best friend the other day where due to some weird circumstances, he ended up going top as Thresh, and went full AD, and was fucking killing it lol.
Maybe lucian was just low hp after fighting those ghouls, don't you think?
@@halfonsotercero1212 of course that's a good explanation, I didn't even think about that for whatever reason.
@@kingcrimson4313 Thresh passive, in late game he can have like a 200 armour just from passive, so he isn't that squishy.
20:10 The light beam you mentioned is lucians Q , you can see how he puts both guns close together to fire it, just like in the game. They love to put actual ingame abilities into these animations to give it more cohesion to their game counterparts. :)
Edit: looking back through it, you can also see how lucian always fires two shots after every ability, like ingame , until tresh disarms him. This, incidentially, is his E, if you watch the ability in slow motion its shown how he throws the hook , then pulls it back to him and lets it fly past him.
I dont like how ppl try to connect between League of legends the universe where there is no mana no cdr .... and League of legends the actual game .
@@ossamaelhaddadi4752 you can say that but also
1-lucian's guns are made of petricite which can absorb and releases magic so him joining his two guns together is like making a small railgun of magic
2-since lucian somehow has some form of magic that's why he can dash and the 2 attacks is just a reference to his passive in-game and not vice-versa
That edit you did with the 3 cinematics is great, riot has been planning this for so long and we didn't even know it
The last few seconds of Senna's animation, when she looks conflicted? I'm 100% sure that that's a setup. She is back from the dead, she is the monster that they were supposed to hunt, this is probably going to be a "Lucian, you need to let me go/kill me" type of story
Check out her story on universe ... she learned that light can't exist without darkness and she is now using both to fight the mist
ahe is just a little confused but she's gonna be fine
I think she just noticed Thresh was still alive.
Apparently according to the story she can even turn into a wraith now
someone obviously hasn't read lore
Lucian is snappy and thresh is flowing, so most of the time it looks like thresh is predicting what lucian is doing, them moment both of them at looking at eachothers faces, lucian has the advantage since all his animations are somewhat instant and if they are both on the same tought thresh cant predict his sudden movements
You know, I didn't really realize how much Lucian focused on the lantern until I saw your analysis. The two or three times I watched the short I was like "how is Lucian missing these shots? Thresh isn't even moving!" thinking he was after the slaneeshi skeleton man, thinking that killing him was his objective. But now I realize it's because Thresh is trying to guard the lantern from his shots. Amazing video as always TB!
Hi TB! So for the smoke effects, I personaly use a program called maya as a digital media student. The way that these are created is by taking a simple ball, and adding a “fluid” or “gas” VFX preset. Then we can adjust things like turbulence, color, glow, particle amount, and etc to create the desired effect. However there are MUCH better vfx programs than maya, like Houdini, that can achieve this to a great effect.
I'm just gonna say, Thresh looks god damn amazing in good graphics. I've been wanting to see Thresh in a cinematic for more than 2 seconds for a while now.
teh hug moment always makes me cry, even when moving at 1 frame every 5 seconds with a danish boy talking over it explaining animation shit
39:30 the literal expression of "not angry, just disappointed"
38:35 in 4k would be a greeeeeeeat wallpaper.
This whole short has so many great moments for wallpaper.
15:45 You're absolutely right, in Homebound it's specifically Lucian's gun that's in not-as-good condition, and it's mentioned that Senna's is more ornate than his, so that's definitely the payoff from the story
"The video went through RUclips's compression twice"
And then you put it inside of another video, RIP Compression
The lantern healing itself as it reabsorbs souls was a really nice touch. Also I have a feeling that that confrontation is very much not over ...
Skyen my man, I absolutely love your videos and you've provided FANTASTIC background sound while I'm working on artwork, but buddy you don't know nothin' about fleet footwork crit Thresh ;)
Eventhough Senna's facial expressions are mostly static and pretty much only shown three times in the whole short, they are without a doubt my *favourite* part. It REALLY shows the tension, heartbreak, *probably* elements of PTSD after being tortured for so long, realisation, clarity, etc. She's such a broken person and now that she's free and finally with her beloved again, she doesn't really know what to do. She doesn't really know what she *is* either, or a least not fully. I can't wait to see how Riot write her up now to see if they can write her well whilst not being overbearing or on-the-nose about the themes revolving the two.
You have the best sound effects
This is one of my favorite cinematics(my favorite scene is when Senna shoots to shield Lucian) and i have been waiting since it came out to hear your input. Keep doing what your doing❤
Respect for putting Kindred's theme in the background Skyen :D
Drat, I am not the only one that joked about AD thresh deleting people.
12:22 Tresh be like notice me, lucian
While the fight scene was great, i feel the real winner are the facial expressions of...everyone. because they are the main storytelling. Also Senna as a living contradiction, is a very good concept and it makes her character be apart from lucian's
I really like how thresh uses the lantern to bait lucians attacks in the fight because he know that is what he is trying to get to.
i didint even notice that lucian was focusing the the lantern the whole time i just thought he was fighting thresh and when he got caught took advantage of the fact that he knew senna was in the lantern to attack it as a last move since he full intended to end senna torment even if it means his death but i guess this is why we come here to see the full picture
I really enjoyed this breakdown. Keep up the good work!
From having some videos to make to have no time to breath -TB Skyen edition
Wife-Feels
*immature giggling*
Really liked the "loopyness"
Another man of culture watching untitled goose game videos
Nice breakdown of the cinematic. Enjoyed it.
Hey TB, just small note, sometimes in animation breakdowns when you play a moment and then step through it frame-by-frame to talk about it, it would be great if you then played the moment after at normal speed one last time so we can see all the principles just described at work. We can of course rewind and play that part again at normal speed but if it's easy for you it would be nice to just see the moment one last time. Probably not necessary every time you step through something.
Regardless thanks for the awesome videos!!
Thresh predictive fighting style might match with his lore, thresh can read souls, and probably can see their intentions, so he knows what lucian is targeting and when he is about to go in/out. And it also matches with his gameplay, since he has long cast time for his abilities.
wife-steal champion
and then it's compressed a 3rd time when we watch it
that too
eugh
Lucian almost lost to a 1v1 with a lantern. Even fail to finish the job.
I live for these breakdowns
I like how this works with the ingame characters by thresh being about predicting movement and lucian with his jumps ist nearly uncatchable as long he stays on range. If I would like to show someone how to play these champs, thats the way/idea to go :D
Edit: It Shows additionally that it isnt about thresh but the person "using/depending on" the lantern, hehe.
T B skyen: "No support wins against an adc"
Pre-nerf tahm kench: So anyway I started licking.
“Loses 1 duel with a support”
Crit thresh: allow me to introduce myself
Since the first time watching this short I wondered why Lucian didn't just get his head ripped off from the explosion of the lantern, he gets flung really far away and thresh as well so it must be a pretty hefty blast with a lot of power and Lucian still got a really heavy chain that is physically strangling him to an extend, enough for thresh to pull him a bit nearer without it losing tension so how does he not get gravelly injured by getting shot in the opposite direction of the mass (thresh) holding said chain (it even has a weight on the other end (a pretty big scythe that is heavy enough to, again, keep the tension in the chain while it is flung around) and I see in the trailer that during the exposing the chain gets lose around Lucians throat and its no longer around his neck when he flies away but that makes no sense, at least I think it doesn't, maybe I missed something, fell free to discuss and/or corrected me if I missed something but the argumet that Lucian obviously can't die like this in a trailer like that is of course true but also is irrelevant for this topic (also the arguments that it's a video game or that it has magic and green burning skeleton men).
Root duration over
@@haikunxue816 its real life fight in the universe there no root duration
Thresh has full control of the chain. When lucian blew up the lantern thresh was surprised which removed his influence on the chain and made the chains go slack.
@@LycanDreams9159 but where did you get this info? Is it cannon that thresh "magicly" control the scythe and chain as he pleases and I just don't know about it or is that just an assumption? I mean, thresh uses the thing pretty realistically, it acts pretty much like the real thing would (except the part where the scythe always perfectly hits with its pointy bit, that would probably not work so smoothly but it's not impossible) so if he actually got full control over the thing why doesn't he just break the laws of physics constantly but instead stays real to how it's "supposed to work?"
I don’t know what to say but Apparently comments help you! So great video and keep doing what you do best ;D
He's been out for years and people still spell Thresh as "Tresh"
Tragic.

Still don't take the damn lanturn
Tali yah is probably teasing the fight against xerath
Pretty sure she's headed towards shurima and maybe she encounters xerath along the way
39:24
I don't know how they managed to do it but that face, to me, says exactly;
"I love you but my god you've been a fucking pain"
This is a reaaaaly good analysis! I watched this trailer like 10 times and i would get emotional every time for some reason. Now i know the reason.
also nice, her costume is like Lu's a mix between black and white and silver and gold
I’m pretty sure they said the Camille and Jhin part is to be continued as well
My god! That title! 😂
One thing I just wanna point as somebody who was literally in the Arena when it happened. Lucian's Login Music was basically part of the opening ceremony of Season 2 World championship. And it was fucking amazing as all hell back then. ANd that we are here 7 years later, maybe 7 years in lore later... and Senna is coming out, feels still more than surreal but amazing to me!
3:41 This was also a "tease" for something... and hoo boy was it a tease
I NEED MORE SENNAAAA
Beyond all the jokes about AD Thresh, Thresh being super powerful in lore always seemed to align with his gameplay to me because Thresh in lore has had all the time since the Ruination to collect souls. Imagine how powerful his E auto is just from that...
He lost concentration when he shot at the lantern when senna looked at him in senna and lucians shared story she says that you have to focus and will the relic to shoot with all od your being or it pretty much fizzles
Senna: Trapped in a lantern for years, still wears sneakers
I kinda love Senna, she doesnt look too complicated or too simply shes just in between, really like the character design
These souls totally giving me harry potter vibes here. Pretty well done.
4:10: Yeah...subtlety is no Riot's strong suit.
10:30: There's an argument for flaily-over-the-face Lucien dreads in this sequence, since that would communicate just how shaken Lucien is after realizing he's been helping Thresh torment Senna. And maybe as he puts his new plan together, he sweeps the dreads back into order? Whatever, this direction works too, it just emphasizes different things. I just like the idea of emphasizing how the realization affects Lucien more than re-emphasizing how in control he is.
29:50: Well, given the strangly context it looks more like "Argh, this hurts so much," but yeah...the strain-face limits Lucien's emotional range to "pissed off," "in pain," and maybe "sad, but manly-sad, not weepy sad, because cool guys don't cry".
Thresh went Crit
pauauauauaa, THE COWBOY SHOT! XD
Thresh looks so god dam cool in this short!
I really love surprised thresh.
"Unbound"
Oh boyyy was this a prophecy?
Lucian could have his hair tied in a Ponytail
6:00 tbskyen, u clearly do not know anything about league, everyone knows that crit ad thresh with dark harvest hard carries, sheesh
Thresh in particular is known in the botlane for bringing overconfident enemies back down to the ground with a brutal swing, not only as ADC. Ever tried to towerdive that MoFo? ^^

@@bunny6503 smh
In regards to "The Climb" video and perhaps setting up for the future, something interesting to keep in mind: in Legends of Runeterra, there is a card of an Ionian swordman like looks like Yasuo, perhaps his father, and we also know Taliyah was taught by Yasuo, so it's possible that we really WILL get a future story/new character/something to that effect that matches up with "The Climb" video in the future for Yasuo and/or Taliyah who looks to be fighting against/creating a wall to reach what appears to be Xerath,, as well as maybe all the others like Miss Fortune against what appears to be Illaoi, and maybe even hint at Ekko and Blitzcrank against Singed (???) as maybe part of the new anime with Jinx and Vi, since we know Jinx and Ekko are around the same age perhaps it will skip to the future after their backstory and Ekko is a part of the future storyline.
Another thing that could even be connected, now that I think about it, is that we go from the scene of Yasuo fighting some forces in Ionia in the beginning of the Climb cinematic and then he runs into a cloud to transition to Taliyah. However, in the "Awaken" cinematic, we also have a scene of Irelia and other Ionians fighting against the Noxians, with Yasuo showing up out of no where to mow down and tear down soldiers, so maybe "The climb" was the first part of "Awaken", hinting at this to show up later.
In the discussion of champs being set-up in pre existing videos. The new juggernaut (i think he she comes from ionia) that has a connection with fighting pit could be a follow up to the draven/riven thing?
Thresh was making that chain scythe _work_ like a boss! He clearly has a relationship with his weapon. ;)
Also another interpretation for the Thresh face on Lucians is that he blames himself for her initial capture which isn’t far off technically. Least we see that in aspect in Senna’s bio
As a thresh top main, I can catagorically state, when not built solely for support tank, thresh actually murders the Frick out of Lucian, especially with the current shogin RFC build.
And from what I saw in the cinematic, thresh is fighting very much like how a top thresh would, getting the target low with an initial hit then using cc to lock them down in your area of control
"They will go galaxy beain" is from now on how i will describe me, doing foreshadowing
Those are some dope-ass boots
11:32 XDDDDDDDD epic
Senna has Brown Eyes
Talking about possible future payoff. If I remmember correctly, in "The climb" there is part were Taliah is fighting against something that shots some kind of blue energy balls. In Patheon's short story "For those who have fallen", he is fighting against an ascended which use some kind of energy attacks. Some people suggest, independely for each story, that the entity could be Xerath. In view of how they set up somethin here with Lucian and Thresh, could be Riot doing something similar here? Setting up a big event in Shurima using both of these stories?
I'm pretty sure Senna is the only one in the lantern that was forced into the lantern unlike other souls who were tormented to extend they choose to give up their souls to thresh
Not a fan of animation breakdown series and Skyen's "Ahhhh phsh phsh" stuff but still gonna fully watch, like Cuz that's a shit ton of efforts. And as usual: Leave a comment for the gods of RUclips algorithm
6:00 Oh God, I wish I recorded my old games from 2015.
Then again, I built Lifesteal and spent a minute running around the map
excited for what's the deal with senna
3:00 yasuo's windwalls and Dashes forward in the video 'the climb' and even though awaken is still not confirmed as canon. Yasuo is there fighting with other Ionians against noxus
Taliyah's champion teaser is her going back to shurima's revived city, and then in "the climb" she's in shurima's main city, guards/towers/someone started to shoot her and he shielded herself from the attacks by her earth bending techniques
And now that you've said it. I need to go back and re watch the climb lol
Will you cover the new volibear and the fiddelsticks update
Well thesh is a sp vs lucian ad and you want the fight to more longer :^
Guess he was building Statik Shivv
Plot Tiwst: Senna was going to break up with Lucian at dinner but got stuck in Thresh's lantern instead and now all of her character tension comes from having to put up with Lucian's off-screen dad jokes and obsession with ironing his coattails
Greetings!
Lucian dash in front of thresh melee form and get hooked, so realistic.
lol that #1 recommended vid
39:39 she looks like a bit unsure.. like as if she wants to be sure she just did the right thing, that her power wont hurt him.. like she prolly hasnt used them for a long time, so maybe she doubted a second.. "what if I hurt him?" but she already shot, she made the decision, she has to trust herself
The Thresh in the cinematic is a Thresh that never had to support someone and is probably capable of taking down Lucian with a single auto
Riot said once that the awaken scenes are also supposed to be future stories so I wouldnt be suprised if the climb scenes are also future canon, would be dope to see what Illaois deal is with MF and BC and Ekko fighting together, maybe Viktor has something to do with Ekko later aswell because he built Blitz? And Taliyah going after Xerath might be the most interesting thing for me.
Saw what's on your recommendation could you maby talk about that game?
Maybe how it uses visual comedy.
A 47 minutes videos.... GIVE ME MORE XDDDDD
