These videos are really well done and super helpful. Thank you for making them. Just about finished my PPL (check ride passed, about to do written test) and I’m following along with your ratings videos. Up to Cat-4 so far.
Thanks for the comment Jared & welcome to the channel! Glad you’ve found them useful... Was worried they might be waaaaaay to boring but the feedback from them has been good. We’ll keep trying to find ways to make them better though! :) Congrats on passing the check ride & good luck with the written. Let me know how you get on & probably catch you on PE sometime! :)
Thanks for your video and the instruction. I get a lot out of your videos. I found your advice on "staying ahead of the plane" in your Yakima video very good food for thought. I do that now with every flight. Thank you. As for this video/CAT, I watched your video then did a practice run to see how it would go. I had very much the same experience as you did, having flown on a Saturday afternoon with dozens of other pilots on the network as well. I find it very frustrating and especially confusing that the same ATC person is using the same frequency for multiple airports. I literally forgot who I was supposed to be talking to and got into trouble when I also didn't copy down the approach frequency numbers correctly, then got dinged for switching frequencies on my own. (I know I'm not supposed to do that but I had it wrong and switched back, then couldn't get a work in edgewise). So I guess my only complaint about PilotEdge (at least at this very moment in time) is I wish they had more controllers on staff. With only one or two people (like today it seems) it made for a lot of waiting and faster and faster pace of speaking. I suppose the pace is the same on real ATC but I don't think you talk to the same person on different frequencies, correct? Anyway, I'm grateful for PilotEdge and your instruction as well. I'm studying for my PPL and these tools are a really great resource.
Helloooooo! :) Awesome; how are you finding it? Loving how real PE makes flying in the sim! :) Haha; it’s been a long day, so thanks for pointing that out... Much appreciated! We’ve got some tweaks to make to the way we shoot these but we’re getting there & it’ll be much easier once I’ve got used to the new setup... Catch you in the CAT 6 over the next few days! 😂
Lol - I’m just well jel. I did one of those 737 simulators (gift from my wife) and ‘flew’ London to Luxembourg. Have to say I enjoyed every second and plan to do it again. Mind you - I can get a PPL lesson for the same price :-)
Haha! Yeah... This has certainly been an investment. I could renew my PPL(A) and H AND go do a lot of flying with the amount we’ve ploughed into this... 😬 Hopefully worth the investment though from the content it’ll allow us to create. 💪🏻
Hey Matt - It's pretty special! :) Looking forward to getting it dialled in and starting to shoot the 'proper' training series on the G1000 and PPL flying course... So many requests for that content & good to finally have the kit to do it properly! :)

Can't wait to watch this in full later. I would get nothing else done if I had that setup! Amazing.

Nice setup man! 👍
What scenery are you using? Looks awesome, and as I'm doing the PilotEdge CATs I'd love to use the same!
Nevermind, I heard you talk about it around 23:40 - ORBX it is! I was doubting to buy this as its price is pretty steep, but seems worth it.
Hi Matt... you and I are doing the CATs almost in parallel mate :), very nice video!!! By the way, your title shows CAT 4 and should be CAT 5...
