  • A useful trick in getting extra continues for Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the SEGA Master System. Normally, losing all your lives results in a Game Over. However, Alex Kidd in Miracle World actually has a HIDDEN continue option that can be accessed with a secret code, provided you meet the requirement to enable it.

Here's how to access the hidden continue option in Alex Kidd in Miracle World. At the Game Over screen, hold Up on the D-Pad, and quickly press the '2' button eight times. If done before being kicked back to the title screen, the option "CONTINUE MODE" will flash at the bottom, before restarting the beginning of the level you got a Game Over.
The requirement needed though is money. The cost depends on how far you are in the game. It cost $900 in currency for the final level as shown in the video. Needless to say, this code will not work if you don't have enough, so make sure to collect many money bags along the way.
