Normally 1-2 years of dating followed by a year of engagement are optimum. A lot of times if a guy can't ask during that time, they mostly aren't really looking to make it permanent, or are afraid of commitment.

I love watching your vlogs. My 31 year old son who has been going out with his gf for 2 years, has just got engaged to her. They had a little holiday booked and he said to me "I know it's going to happen, I love her to bits, so I've purchased a ring and I'm going to propose on our holiday". It's all about when you know, you know. I am a Christian however, I don't believe in giving every decision over to God. You need to follow your own feelings and situation in life. To answer your question about when its a good time to get married. I think it depends on the relationship. My husband and I got married a year after dating. Also fights are going to happen even when married. It's all about communication but you need to give each other space to cool off before talking about it.

The right amount of time is however long it takes you to learn to truly communicate. If you make it that far you’ll make it through anything! For some couples that’s a year, for others it’s a few. As dumb as it sounds people get married and struggle for years to learn to communicate, I believe it’s a priority to learn before marriage and that it should be a focus for sure. Just my two cents!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for over 3 years now. We met my freshman year of college. He’s graduating next month. I’m not even close due to not starting any nursing programs yet. But marriage has been a topic I bring up all the time. We’re not rich but we also don’t have our end goal careers that make us a ton of money either. We can’t even afford to pay rent together. We both live with family. And he turns 25 this year. Not to mention we’re also religious so we don’t participate in any hook up culture activities.
I literally can’t wait to marry this man but it feels further away than I’d like. 😅❤
