🏰 A Disney fan’s hub for all Walt Disney news today!
If you’re looking for exclusive Disney news or want to experience the inside of the Disney parks, then you’re in the right place. The magic is just a click away! 🚀
For over 16 years, WDW News Today has been your go-to for all things Disney - news, podcasts, radio, and video. We've had a blast sharing our love for Disney, and it's all thanks to our dedicated audience that we're now the best website for Disney Parks News worldwide.
Keep shining a light on the behavior of guests at the Disney Resorts. Disney will never fix the problem if it isn't out in the open.
Disney needs to start limiting alcohol sales. It's gotten to the point that we only do mornings at epcot now and leave by the afternoon. The park slowly decreases in quality throughout the day as more guests become unbearable. I get the appeal of drinking around the world but a Disney park should not be associated with binge drinking
I know Disney sells alcohol in their sundry stores at the hotels, so if they got it from them, it wouldn't surprise me, but they made it seem like they drank A LOT of alcohol. I have a feeling it would've came from a proper liquor store or delivery service that just straight up didn't care about that kind of stuff.
@@jacobpierce54 yeah they were definitely drinking in the room but it sounds like it was all day at the parks too
Unfortunately it sounds like they had also purchased their own drinks and brought them to their room judging by the report. I agree that alcohol, especially in EPCOT, needs a better limiting system because there are too many people that forget it is a park for kids too.
Totally agree, easily to monitor at least enough to really mitigate it (scan the ticket when you buy an alcoholic drink) sucks people can’t be responsible
@@-Bert- Families also need to understand that it is mainly a park for adults, so alcohol will be served. Don't like it, don't go. Just because some people can't control their behavior doesn't mean we should ban it for everyone. By your logic, should we ban children from the park since some of them act like idiots, break the rules, and are just generally idiots?
I feel bad for the very young kids of the two drunk parents. They will remember this Disney trip with their parents being drunk and their mom being hit, instead of having happy memories.Thats truly sad.
Truly messed up and sad, Florida is a terrible place
@@danielgudinojuarez6729I'm sorry to hear that.
Oh my god the Polynesian story is incredibly sad. All I’m thinking about is those poor kids. I couldn’t imagine having my son and daughter witness anything close to that. Just awful - that family needs help.
You’re doing a good thing. This is the real Issues of Disney. What people have to realize is even tho you want fantasy there is real life involved. It’s such shame tho but I’m glad someone made a complaint they saved those children.
Can't imagine how scared those little ones were ... thank you for the report Tom!! Love the rant too!
Tom, you’re absolutely right. These things are newsworthy due to the fact. If you’re at a park or at a resort to have fun and to relax when these situations do happen and it’s unfortunate that they do happen somebody’s got be there to protect the innocent in the situation. We could all do without these situations, but it’s a reality of life that these things do happen better than being an ostrich with our head in the sand! You did GREAT Tom!
These things do happen, and the fact is that they SHOULDN’T happen. More and more cocktail and alcohol promotions, no limits on sales, almost no security in the park to immediately step in and remove problematic guests… Considering the money we pay for these experiences, the least we can expect is solid safeguards and security.
I really hope the kids of those negligent parents are doing well. I can’t imagine how scary it is to witness domestic violence, especially when it happens at a Disney resort.
You make us aware of all the problems and we try not to repeat such incidents. Children need the protection from those types of scares.
Yeah, I always try to keep an eye out for kids who look like they might be in dangerous situations until I can see that their parents are nearby and see them. I've witnessed a coupe of close calls where I thought I was going to have to step in and make sure a kid didn't get hurt, but thank God it's always turned out OK.
Slowly coming to the conclusion WDWNT is slowly becoming the polar opposite of WDW. First up, they actually tell you the bad news (along with the good). More significant, it is never mentioned enough the time and effort WDWNT is putting into an event like Stage 89, all for the fans and with all profits going to CHARITY. Say whatever you want about Tom and WDWNT but their continuous charitable contributions are mind blowing. Bravo.
That's all going to change once I get to work at Disney. Even though I'm currently applying to work there, I'm planning to make some really positive changes there. In time, WDW will be EXACTLY like WDWNT, catering to all fans with all profits going to charity. That's a promise.
@@annien.1727Good idea.💡
I always appreciate when Tom’s journalistic ethics shine through. It’s a selling point of WDWNT. ❤
He's seriously seasoned for his youthful age💯
Nah, journalism isn't supposed to be biased. Unfortunately, Tom has shown his bias many, many times.
He does good reporting on everything.
@@supersanic1254that's fair and a really good point. Personally, I prefer that so I'm glad to have this version of Tom and WDWNT. I honestly wouldn't watch it if wasn't. I don't always agree with Tom's opinions or rants but I'm grateful to have them so I can hear the opinions/perspective of an individual who has been paying attention to Disney a lot longer than I have.
@@supersanic1254 No one is without bias. Tom is open about who he is, what he believes, and why. His vulnerability is part of his appeal. Tom doesn’t pretend to be something he is not. That is a big part of why WDWNT is so great.
My first trip with my kids .I had to call on domestic violence happening next door 😢 Happy someone reported it and the teacher 🤦♀️ creep caught and reported 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
as someone who doesn't drink I do not get the point of getting intoxicated in public. it seems like you wouldn't want to look like a fool in front of thousands of people.
Oh, the rant wasn't that rant-y. And the news of the new Space Mountain start was much appreciated!
Love the content & and everything, Disney! You did great, especially from memory alone!
So many memories attending the parks with my grandparents while staying with them during Summer vacation so thanks for these videos as always. I never really comment on this channel but just wanted to say keep up the good work.
I think it’s great that you report everything. You never know things can be dangerous or harm to others. Your doing a great job Thank you so much for all the updates and news .
Good to see you report the news today!
Great segment today and thanks for always keeping us informed
Omg Tom, you’re gonna be so jet lagged!! Sending good vibes! I also agree with reporting the Polynesian incident. People think they are in a safe protected bubble when they are in WDW and it’s just not the case.
Thank you for report on everything that happens.
I appreciate your news coverage. When we went in 2021 I distinctly remember a father treating his children horribly in the Peter Pan queue - it made such an impact on our family we talk about it to this day and I have not been on the ride since - in hindsight I wish I had reported it -
Thank you as always
Amazing as usual Tom!! Love all your stuff.
Your content is always interesting and varied Tom. It was good to watch you do the news.
Thanks for your reporting. 😊
Good to see you on here Tom!!
Thank you very much for your comprehensive news.
Glad to see Tom doing the news again. That's the most stubble I've seen Tom with. Great job, Tom! I feel bad for those poor kids 😔. Can't wait for Tom to return to the US! 😁😃
This is so hard to hear. Poor children!
You make being an anchor look easy. I’m sure it’s not. Thank you for your professionalism, dry wit, and obvious love of Disney. (And the rants. I love those) Great job as usual.
Hey Tom (and crew) yes, that is news. This stuff is important to know, and that this stuff is happening... something to keep an eye/ear out for. What happened to Disney being "the happiest place on earth"... it's getting bad now, people just have no clue how to behave anymore.
Hey Tom! Feels complete when you do the news.
Disney is obsessed with the word “adventure”, Remys ratatouille adventure, Tiana’s Bayou adventure, Star Wars the adventures continue, Adventureland, adventure friends cavalcade, the American adventure, there’s probably some I forgot too lol
Winnie the Pooh adventures
Disney World is not immune to the Florida Man effect it seems
Domestic violence and alcohol abuse are problems that nobody should see as partisan or controversial, and criminal activity is on this news show for the same reason it's on any local news station - not just to be sensationalized, but because it's recent events, warns people of danger, and is relevant to the community. Sometimes yeah, putting a weird/embarrassing altercation as a headline feels kinda arbitrary and not newsworthy, but in serious cases like this it's absolutely important to not turn a blind eye to abuse and crime that actually endangers kids, not political projection but things everyone can unite to understand is wrong.
Great job without the teleprompter! I am hoping that with the train tours coming back to DL that DW behind the scenes train tour is shortly behind it!
I wish Disney would ban home made tee shirts that read “drinking around the world” at EPCOT. Sends a misguided message that EPCOT is all about getting drunk and not a park for family fun and education.
They charge $20+ for those drinks. The profit margins are too much to stop selling alcohol.
I witnessed a drunk man verbally assault and kick a line rope that hit a cast member during the Epcot fireworks. I filmed the incident and gave the video to security. He was escorted out of the Park. Epcot after dark is sketchy with all of the drunk a holes.
They need to get on top of this flagrant over serving. I don’t know about Floridas laws, but isn’t it generally illegal to serve already intoxicated people there?
@@mondenkindqueen drunks around kids isn’t a good thing.
Walt was 100% right about alcohol ruining family environments. I can’t believe people still defend serving booze at the parks.
Many drunks are not over served until the exact moment they are
Alcoholism is a sickness. Disney should be determining which bar those parents were at in the hours before and review security footage of which cast member overserved them, if any.
I had no idea the Tokyo Space Mountain had already started, and that its going next the the current one. I thought they would have to tear the whole thing down first.
The new Space Mountain is being built behind the current one, and the space where the current version resides will eventually become a grand entrance plaza with sweeping ramps up to the new attraction. 😊
Rant! Go for it! We all missed it.
BTW I love you guys sharing your real opinions with us
great show, and without a teleprompter to boot!
The best thing they could have done cheaply to the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris is to rename it "The Magic of Movies", and retheme Studio 1 as a giant theater, with a red carpet and an impressive lobby inside. Then, guests can walk past the auditoriums--the entrance to each auditorium has a sign overhead with "Now Showing...". For example, "Now Showing Toy Story" or "Now Showing Frozen" Obviously, these auditoriums couldn't be portals to each land like in Epic Universe because of the geographic orientation of the park areas, but it would prepare the guests for what is to come and keep the illusion that guests will be stepping into famous film properties, rather than seeing how the movies are made. The backside of Studio 1 would be a massive circular plaza with an enormous Mickey Sorcerer's Hat in the center (from Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida), and Mickey Mouse gloved hands pointing guests toward the various areas.
I like your coverage. We know when you know….,good stuff😀👍🏼
You did very well from a distance. I love that shirt is it from the New group or a Disney one?
If people do not want to see the news then they shouldn’t watch a news channel. I appreciate your journalistic integrity.
I got to meet a security lady Donna at the Sarasota Springs resort . They try to help families get along in the “happiest place on earth” she was very nice and calming.
I genuinely hope for the kids’ sake that they don’t have to return to an abusive household. As someone who grew up watching their father abuse their mother and other family, it can be a horrible thing to grow up with. Unreal.
So, they should be wards of the state and exiled to foster care?
@@chrisfoxwell4128 would you rather them go to a household where they could be abused? a lot of foster care families love those kids
@@laurynnnsmith , first, there's no evidence that were abused, not physically anyway. Second, if every kid was taken out of every alcoholics care they'd probably have to triple the foster care system. Third, do you really think the chance for suffering more abuse in the system is worth ripping them from their parents?
@@chrisfoxwell4128 What a horrible take. Are you one of their drunken parents or something? I hope you never have kids.
@@chrisfoxwell4128there was clear evidence that the father abused the mom- so he may very well then on the children. if you're trying to argue with me that it is better for children to be in the care of abusive alcoholics, then you don't know enough people who grew up in that situation
Thanks!
Thank you!
Wow, they should have done this for Wallcot, using how Disney used to be with the touch points :(
Disney does wellness room checks daily.
great show as always, love what you do. I will suggest w/ crazy stories involving children like the one today, less is more when it comes to those horrific details. With families and youngsters watching things, keeping it more general would be better for the show IMO. I LOVED your follow up to the story and the positive nudge of "just be aware as you enjoy the magic." Keep the pixie dust coming so I can enjoy the magic in my everyday life.
The police report stated 'a bag of empty cans and bottles'... I agree there needs to be some way to limit the amount of alcohol served in the park but no hotel can really control what guests purchase and bring into their rooms- vacations bring out the best & worst in some people.
Very heartbreaking to hear about the incident at Polynesian Resort. This reminded me of my trip last year to Disneyland and we were staying at Paradise Pier. We went back to our room that night to find out that the hallway outside smelled strongly of weed. I also heard a baby crying across from our room. I had to call the front desk to report that. Security came straight up. I didn't know what happened after that because I told the front desk I wanted it to be anonymous. Made me wonder if the parents were passed out in there with the baby crying.
Go Disney. ❤❤❤❤❤ Awesome stream.
I have always been a believer that there should be NO ALCOHOL served at any of the Disney parks, for this same reason of what these two parents have done. Serving alcohol in the parks is just another money grab by Disney.
I wonder how Walt would have felt about it. I know he was an avid smoker, so who knows?
They mitigate the damage with the hundreds of thousands they make every month from alcohol sales
Alcohol is not a good mix with Family entertainment
@@scott_thomasx that has got to be a great profit
It sounds like they brought their own alcohol. No way to stop that. I think Disney does a very responsible way of handling serving alcohol. I’ve only ever seen a few people have a bit too much at EPCOT- and they weren’t disruptive.
That's why Walt didn't want alcohol in his parks. Absolutely heartbreaking! 😢
……concerning the arrests, ALL I had to hear was “Florida”, and “Staten Island”. 🤷🏼♂️🤔👎🏻
Love da shirt!
I'm so intrigued by the design on your shirt. Could you please show a close-up of the print?
Tom you are right. My fiancé and I just left DLP and Walt Disney Studio is awful we spent maybe a total of 5 hrs there in the 3 nights/4 days we were in the parks.
It’s such a hodgepodge of all the parks just thrown together.
23:55 I didn’t realize they were already building the new Tokyo Space Mountain BEHIND the current version! I thought they wouldn’t start construction until they closed the current Space Mountain. Thats very clever!
Hey Tom. Hope all is going well
WDW News Today you tube channel Love my favorite Disneyland one fan BIG 💖💖💖💖🎶🏰
While not at a Disney park, Intamin has made 9 drop track coasters with the oldest one opening in 2010. There should be plenty of options to see
I love Tom...I highly recommend it for many reasons....mostly money 😂
I feel horrible for those poor children. I hope the parents are imprisoned and kept far away from children for the rest of their lives. While the parents clearly brought in alcohol from off-property, Walt was still 100% right about alcohol ruining family friendly environments.
Very smart to get out of Japan before the crush starts in a few days
Where is that shirt from? Love the Duck Family Tree!
Disney Adventure World - double the footprint but only two extra rides, one a full clone and the other a variation on teacups. At least they are keeping on message with lots of walking around and nothing else to do except queue
All 3 of us: HI Tom!
Alcohol does not belong in a place designed for family entertainment.
The fact that that teacher is still working at a school pisses me off. Even if he’s in a “no contact” position now, you shouldn’t be allowed to work around kids after doing something like that :/
No alcohol in Disney parks, period.
Nah, that's a ridiculous idea lol
Why is it ridiculous? I’ve never drank in a Disney park. Ever. As if you don’t have enough to do, eat or drink. It’s nothing but a cash grab by Disney that is currently backfiring.
Also, didn’t Walt specifically NOT want alcohol in his parks?
They charge $20+ for those drinks. The profit margins are too much to stop selling alcohol.
That would make sense if the rest of Disney World pricing wasn’t absolute extortion - Disney is the last company to plead poverty in their parks. This is about placing greed and profits far above the guest experience. And oh yeah, underpaying Cast Members to boot.
Don’t make excuses for such behaviour. You are contributing to the downfall.
This is definitely news and it happened at Disney and you watch this for Disney News. No issues in reporting this. Keep on reporting.
You did it from memory, Tom? 🧠🧠🧠🥳🎉You did an awesome job!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!
Tom, hope you're enjoying your stay in Japan! Just a little correction, that is not the first piece of track at Space Mountain. The first pieces were placed inside sometime before March 30 (curved pieces located at what will be the front of the building).
Those are just supports
I appreciate that you are direct in your reporting and don’t dance around the details of incidents that people need to be mindful of, especially in an environment where reality can be easily ignored.
Myself and my wife visited our first international park. Disneyland Paris, we went for week to both Paris and then Disney on the back end. Stayed at the Disneyland hotel. Loved the park. Big thunder is better there IMO than magic. I like their premier pass and Q system better than Magic Kingdom and like the variety of characters you get to see. The drone show was awesome.
Forget Disney. You are the official DHS bday celebration!
Always come to the comments 🍿😊 whilst watching these updates
The story about the children is simply wrong, those children didn’t deserve this treatment especially on a Disney vacation.
Children never deserve abuse.
Gosh the news that come out on the parks. Parents behaving badly & teaches that should know better. 😳 Tom thanks for the update. Decided still not to use the sink, I see. 😏I think you said the sponsor right off the top of your head.👍
Tom I WANT THAT SHIRT!!
Those Imagineers in Paris looked cold
Was at the Polynesian in January. We saw a man sleeping alone in old clothes by the pool for several hours. When he stood up he appeared very slight and had a worn appearance … possibly drugs. Staff told us detectives were aware and followed him as he moved about the property . Staff also shared with us guests can only stay for 30 days. There was noticeable security outside hotel rooms. Polynesian did not have a relaxed feel as it appears Disney has to deal with serious security issues to keep the rest of us safe. They seemed to be on top of situations.
Walt Disney himself who was a heavy smoker and drinker didn’t really have alcohol sales in Disneyland when he was around so I don’t think its entirely appropriate to have alcohol in Disney but the alcohol sales in the parks are a huge profit.
I have that same shirt!
No razors in Japan? Love your show.
That Moblie in Town Square look like someone was channeling Wally Crump and misunderstood him..
I’ve seen something similar at grand Floridian. Family from another country staying in an expensive outer lodge suite. Gave alcohol to the kids. Police called. Mom decided to punch the cop. She got a set of silver bracelets, a tour of the 33rd street police facility, and an eviction notice. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
To be fair, it is ridiculous to call the cops for that.ond your own business lol
You did good. I listen more than watch and it didnt sound any different to me.
Isn't Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure an Intamin coaster with a track drop in the devil's snare part of the track?
It dont surprise me with the way the Adult Beverages are made at the Polynesian. Thats why my dad makes it a part of our itinerary for him to get his pineapple drink from Polynesian resort. Some Adults just take it to a different level.
I agree that whatever news happens in Disney Parks should be talked about. Disney isn't a safe bubble anymore, like in the 80s and before! Heck, in the 90s, it seems safe. maybe????
Its funny, my wife and I went to Disneyland last night and decided not to bring our magic bands for the first time since we really only use them to get in the park. We were sad we didn't bring them when we saw the Haunted Mansion band reader at the wall! I really hope they make magic bands more useful at Disneyland
This domestic abuse incident is likely not the first even though there's no prior record. Unfortunately the children will possibly be disciplined for telling the police what took place. Abusers tend to become more violent as they become more comfortable abusing. Domestic abuse is very scary as families tend to hide behind closed doors for fear of retaliation from the abuser. Hopefully she takes herself and the children out of this situation and starts a new life.
I think it is important to cover the good and the bad. I think it is important that the not so nice be reported. Enjoy watching your videos
agreed. It is very important to report these incidents that happen. We all need to be aware of our surroundings. Case in point a woman and man were arguing-he was pulling her into the car in front of a quick stop store in the state i live and a man wanted to report it but the woman changed his mind. Well, it was a kidnapping with very negative outcomes
