    Keep shining a light on the behavior of guests at the Disney Resorts. Disney will never fix the problem if it isn't out in the open.

  • @weatheredseeker
    @weatheredseeker Месяц назад +278

    Disney needs to start limiting alcohol sales. It's gotten to the point that we only do mornings at epcot now and leave by the afternoon. The park slowly decreases in quality throughout the day as more guests become unbearable. I get the appeal of drinking around the world but a Disney park should not be associated with binge drinking

    • @jacobpierce54
      @jacobpierce54 Месяц назад +13

      I know Disney sells alcohol in their sundry stores at the hotels, so if they got it from them, it wouldn't surprise me, but they made it seem like they drank A LOT of alcohol. I have a feeling it would've came from a proper liquor store or delivery service that just straight up didn't care about that kind of stuff.

    • @weatheredseeker

      Unfortunately it sounds like they had also purchased their own drinks and brought them to their room judging by the report. I agree that alcohol, especially in EPCOT, needs a better limiting system because there are too many people that forget it is a park for kids too.

    • @the_traveling_texan

    • @supersanic1254
      @supersanic1254 Месяц назад +11

      @@-Bert- Families also need to understand that it is mainly a park for adults, so alcohol will be served. Don't like it, don't go. Just because some people can't control their behavior doesn't mean we should ban it for everyone. By your logic, should we ban children from the park since some of them act like idiots, break the rules, and are just generally idiots?

If you’re at a park or at a resort to have fun and to relax when these situations do happen and it’s unfortunate that they do happen somebody’s got be there to protect the innocent in the situation. We could all do without these situations, but it’s a reality of life that these things do happen better than being an ostrich with our head in the sand! You did GREAT Tom!

      These things do happen, and the fact is that they SHOULDN’T happen. More and more cocktail and alcohol promotions, no limits on sales, almost no security in the park to immediately step in and remove problematic guests… Considering the money we pay for these experiences, the least we can expect is solid safeguards and security.

    Slowly coming to the conclusion WDWNT is slowly becoming the polar opposite of WDW. First up, they actually tell you the bad news (along with the good). More significant, it is never mentioned enough the time and effort WDWNT is putting into an event like Stage 89, all for the fans and with all profits going to CHARITY. Domestic violence and alcohol abuse are problems that nobody should see as partisan or controversial, and criminal activity is on this news show for the same reason it's on any local news station - not just to be sensationalized, but because it's recent events, warns people of danger, and is relevant to the community. Sometimes yeah, putting a weird/embarrassing altercation as a headline feels kinda arbitrary and not newsworthy, but in serious cases like this it's absolutely important to not turn a blind eye to abuse and crime that actually endangers kids, not political projection but things everyone can unite to understand is wrong.

    The best thing they could have done cheaply to the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris is to rename it "The Magic of Movies", and retheme Studio 1 as a giant theater, with a red carpet and an impressive lobby inside. Then, guests can walk past the auditoriums--the entrance to each auditorium has a sign overhead with "Now Showing...". For example, "Now Showing Toy Story" or "Now Showing Frozen" Obviously, these auditoriums couldn't be portals to each land like in Epic Universe because of the geographic orientation of the park areas, but it would prepare the guests for what is to come and keep the illusion that guests will be stepping into famous film properties, rather than seeing how the movies are made. The backside of Studio 1 would be a massive circular plaza with an enormous Mickey Sorcerer's Hat in the center (from Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida), and Mickey Mouse gloved hands pointing guests toward the various areas.

    Disney Adventure World - double the footprint but only two extra rides, one a full clone and the other a variation on teacups. At least they are keeping on message with lots of walking around and nothing else to do except queue

    The fact that that teacher is still working at a school pisses me off. Even if he’s in a “no contact” position now, you shouldn’t be allowed to work around kids after doing something like that :/

      Why is it ridiculous? I’ve never drank in a Disney park. Ever. As if you don’t have enough to do, eat or drink. It’s nothing but a cash grab by Disney that is currently backfiring.
      Also, didn’t Walt specifically NOT want alcohol in his parks?

    • @LDrosophila

      They charge $20+ for those drinks. The profit margins are too much to stop selling alcohol.

    • @happymaskedguy1943

      That would make sense if the rest of Disney World pricing wasn’t absolute extortion - Disney is the last company to plead poverty in their parks. This is about placing greed and profits far above the guest experience. And oh yeah, underpaying Cast Members to boot.
      Don’t make excuses for such behaviour. You are contributing to the downfall.

    Myself and my wife visited our first international park. Disneyland Paris, we went for week to both Paris and then Disney on the back end. Stayed at the Disneyland hotel. Loved the park. Big thunder is better there IMO than magic. I like their premier pass and Q system better than Magic Kingdom and like the variety of characters you get to see. The drone show was awesome.

    Was at the Polynesian in January. We saw a man sleeping alone in old clothes by the pool for several hours. When he stood up he appeared very slight and had a worn appearance … possibly drugs. Staff told us detectives were aware and followed him as he moved about the property . Staff also shared with us guests can only stay for 30 days. There was noticeable security outside hotel rooms. Polynesian did not have a relaxed feel as it appears Disney has to deal with serious security issues to keep the rest of us safe. They seemed to be on top of situations.

    Walt Disney himself who was a heavy smoker and drinker didn’t really have alcohol sales in Disneyland when he was around so I don’t think its entirely appropriate to have alcohol in Disney but the alcohol sales in the parks are a huge profit.

    I’ve seen something similar at grand Floridian. Family from another country staying in an expensive outer lodge suite. Gave alcohol to the kids. Police called. Mom decided to punch the cop. She got a set of silver bracelets, a tour of the 33rd street police facility, and an eviction notice. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

    It dont surprise me with the way the Adult Beverages are made at the Polynesian. Thats why my dad makes it a part of our itinerary for him to get his pineapple drink from Polynesian resort. Some Adults just take it to a different level.

    Its funny, my wife and I went to Disneyland last night and decided not to bring our magic bands for the first time since we really only use them to get in the park. We were sad we didn't bring them when we saw the Haunted Mansion band reader at the wall! I really hope they make magic bands more useful at Disneyland

    This domestic abuse incident is likely not the first even though there's no prior record. Unfortunately the children will possibly be disciplined for telling the police what took place. Abusers tend to become more violent as they become more comfortable abusing. Domestic abuse is very scary as families tend to hide behind closed doors for fear of retaliation from the abuser. Hopefully she takes herself and the children out of this situation and starts a new life.

    agreed. It is very important to report these incidents that happen. We all need to be aware of our surroundings. Case in point a woman and man were arguing-he was pulling her into the car in front of a quick stop store in the state i live and a man wanted to report it but the woman changed his mind. Well, it was a kidnapping with very negative outcomes
