It’s typical for Pentatonix to mix up who has leads, solos, and backgrounds. It depends on what is best for the song. For Kirstin leads, recommend My Favorite Things, Please Santa Please (original), Be My Eyes (original), and Rather Be.
I have a feeling Kirsten might have stayed in the background for this song because around the same time they also released Please Santa Please. She co-wrote it and sang the whole song, with them in the background. So maybe they were just trying to keep things even? Just a guess of course.
I wondered the same thing and don't forget her epic performance in O Holy Night! On the other hand, the PTX legend is that they do what's best for a song and ego's don't play a part.
I was thinking the same thing plus her amazing, standout, performance in O Holy Night. It seems to even out recent videos and I love hearing more of Matt too!❤

And I can't believe that he no longer has a saxophone - he performed at Carnegie Hall on the saxophone when he was a teenager, after all. @@AceofBadeReacts After Avi announced that he was leaving, but before they found Matt, the other four members of #Pentatonix recorded "Dancing On My Own" as their farewell to Avi. Kevin played Beyoncé, to give them five voices, and handled the percussion at the same time. He looked like he was about to burst into tears at any moment. So, yes, on occasion Pentatonix has been known to treat Kevin's cellos as human voices. They have proper names, after all.
@@AceofBadeReacts It is. Knowing the context, it's hard to watch without crying. They all looked like they were in shock, though they must have known something like this was coming. To the best of my knowledge they haven't actually said this outright, but my feeling is that the time around Avi's departure was the most stressful of their entire career, more so than the early tribulations when they had no publisher except RUclips. That caused financial hardship and uncertainty, but they were meeting those things together. Avi's departure was more like a divorce, someone choosing to leave the family. And even friendly divorces (and this certainly appears to have been friendly, despite some internet rumors claiming otherwise) can be devastating.
