Morgan: "I just want it to end with uncle Iroh in his tea shop, and his nephew being nice. It was lovely, fan edit, the end." If only Morgan could have her wish, sigh, if only.
the way guru pathik explains the chakras is fantastic, and it's so accessible to kids so they can learn about different methods of practicing self-awareness. love this show
That’s fair! But, He just had his top intelligence advisor get thrown in the clink and you're talking with people who wear literal disguising face paint! Like give them a post to hold, but we gotta have some intelligence barriers on this!
This is my absolute favorite episode of the whole show. The philosophy of the chakras is so deep and profound and they managed to "dumb" it down so that kids could understand. When Aang cries after letting go of his grief, I shed a tear. Such a powerful moment.
I think the reason they’ve never crossed paths before is the gaang lives in the upper ring and Zuko and Iroh used to live in the lower ring. Now their tea shop is in the upper ring so they would meet them now more than before.
I’ve been LOVING y’all’s reaction to this series! It’s one of my all-time favorites and I’m so glad it’s getting more attention lately. I look forward to the next video! ❤️
This is my favorite individual episode of the series. The shot of Aang quite literally walking into his full potential in the stars gives me goose bumps every single time. Also- METALBENDING!
One detail I always loved is that the earth chakra, located in the spine, deals with fear. Azula strikes Aang in the back, almost killing and putting the fear of god in him. It's not just the injury but his now blocked chakra that prevents him from entering the Avatar state in season 3. However when fighting Ozai in the finale, Aang getting hit in his back injury doesn't just rearrange his back physically but directly reconfronts him with his fear of dying. In that moment he lets that fear go and by doing so reopens the chakra, allowing himself to enter the Avatar state once again. This is never directly stated but only alluded to in the season 3 opener, when Katara mentions feeling alot of energy being stuck in his back. What she felt was the blocked chakra, as water healers use the chakra paths to heal among other things. These kinds of details are part of what make this show so amazing.
The part where the Guru talks to Aang about grief always hits hard for me. He loved his people and they loved him. And sometimes it's hard to feel love after you lose someone, but as vision says 'What is grief but love persevering' and you find that the love the one who passed had for you lives on and transforms into new love like the Guru said
yes, but they never told him that those three women _were_ the kyoshi warriors. the earth king's people have really fucked up on basic fact checking here.
Another instance that proves how badass Toph is. This has to be my favorite episode of the entire book :) Can't wait for you guys to enjoy book 3! it only gets better and better!!!
I see people get angry at Aang for not staying, but I think Iroh puts it best "you were very wise to chose happiness over power" Aang does love Katara, and if put in his place I would do the same thing, I totally agree with him
5:21 = In the Earth King's defense, our gang did tell him that he could trust the Kiyoshi Warriors. In all honesty, extremely positive Zuko is too uncanny to me XD
It wasn't the past avatars Aang saw in the air chakra portion but the air nomads! His culture before the genocide basically. He's literally the very last of his people left, the loneliness must be real.
The sudden redemption aka nice zuko here is very well done imo. There are a lot of characters who just suddenly turn good after one good deed, but the writers were smarter than that. Add the fact that Zuko and Azula are from an abusive family, the relapse in the next episode makes sense and is nicely done
Aang had to leave the guru for narrative purposes. The greatness of Avatar is that they did in such a dramatic and psychologically convincing way. Masterclass in writing.
This episode always reminded me of Luke leaving Yoda to go to Bespin in Episode V. Wouldn't surprise me if the ending of this season was an homage to/inspired by it.
Again if you gotta get confirmation in an interview than it wasn’t very definitive and how would we know that if we’re going through this for the first time and trying to not be spoiled?
@@lombax316 arguably doesn't count since she appears to have become the moon in the process, and is therefore very much still alive, tho in a very different role.

Well, this is not mentioned in the series but in comic, zuko used to meet guru pathik in the western air temple and almost captured him because he thought he was the avatar
You think this has Star Wars vibes. Wait until the final season of Legend of Korra. The Avatar creators are big Star Wars fans, and Dave Filoni worked on the Last Airbender series. He even references Aang in the Mandalorian with Din’s blue arrowed gloves.
Avatar came out before some of the books of got, and also as far as ive read(which is about half way through the last book) the septon thing doesnt happen with the hound, so even if it does, that book came out after this series was done
