Hey! I discovered you like a month ago after watching the “creating my own….” videos and then I was hooked and started watching the “redesigning popular…..” series in which I found your voice incredibly soothing and the videos calmed my panic that I have due to my anxiety order. In the past month I have watched every single video that you have posted and just wanted to thank you for the entertainment I receive out of it, but also how you effectively distract me and calm me down from the anxiety I face. I am looking forward to watching this video!
@@KelLauren I cannot even express how much you affected my life which sounds so weird as I don’t personally know you however I mean it, so again thank you for creating such a welcoming environment- have a great night 🤍
Kel! This is so wonderful thank you! I wish Adobe would create a "Kel Font Pack" so I could look through all of your favorite fonts right from there lol
@TastyLaCroix i was waiting for chromatica redesign but i kinda lost my hope cus it's been more than a year... however we're having a remix album and will see if Kel has something to do with it haha
@@emanuelthecreator6164 Wait, this is confusing. I thought Kel's channel had a team of members and op was addressing them. Could've chosen a singular custom pronoun tbh
Wooo! My favorite Av-font Garde series is back! Font Talk with Kel is the perfect smoothie of information + opinion + typefaces, and if you disagree: that's okay, to each their own. *Edit: Love the decision to highlight Black designers in lieu of Slab Serifs. I love a good slab, but it's important to share the love.
Thank you so much for providing historical context with these fonts!!! it's definitely inspiring me to look into my own favorite typefaces and learning more about the artists and history behind them. u da best, kel!
Anyone love Sofia Pro? It's probably my favorite sans serif font. It's just so welcoming and I can never get enough of those perfect circles in the o's, d's, b's, etc...
Hey Kel, I thought of a great idea, could you do a video like this but a collab with someone and have it be about Chinese fonts? As someone who knows absolutely nothing about Chinese, this is something I have been so curious about. What type of Chinese fonts are iconic, tacky, “basic”, 70s/80s/90s, and why. I found a couple of articles about this but I think it would make more sense to me to hear someone explain it. I would love to know!
Came here for inspiration for my capstone design project. I have to make a logo for a fake client and "their "company". I had chosen to do one for a kombucha drink company and was giggling at the fact that your coincidentally drinking kombucha. Is this a sign? haha
I loove the look of colonial bastard rhodes and it's such a nice experience to see how they developed the font. Thanks for reminding me of afrofuturism, it's really beautiful!
your channel makes me so excited to learn about design!! i’m going to university for it next year and every time i watch one of your videos i just get so much more hype about it
I always love when you post these videos, they are *chefs kiss*! One of my newest favorite Serif fonts is “Span” (on Adobe Typekit as well) . I love the width variations it has!
Omg I'm using Odile in a project right now!!! Its a specimen booklet and I'm drawing inspo from Swan Lake since the black swan is named Odile. Thanks as always for sharing your amazing taste and wisdom
You’re killing me with the way you are pronouncing Odile. It’s the name of the blake swan in Swan Lake. I wonder if there is an Odette (white swan) font by the same creator.
ayo, I'm Krystina, a Black type designer/graphic designer, currently located in Portland, OR! I took a BIPOC type design class last year through the letterform archive and got to meet so many cool BIPOC type designers. I would love to share any of my knowledge if anyone reaches out!
guess i’m gonna be rebranding myself yet again based entirely around these *yet again*
Every time Kel suggests a font I nearly break my computer trying to rush and download them because I trust their judgement with my life
Omg talent recognizes talent, love when worlds collide
Kel is just such a breath of fresh air! They look like summer personified today! 🌻✨
Truly! Summer fruit vibes
What looks like summer personified?

as a black kid who wants to be a graphic designer I really like that you included fonts made by black graphic designers!!
the intro is always so aesthetically pleasing
I'm so glad I found Kel's channel
I've learned so much by watching their videos
Yo why is everyone here addressing her in the plural?
Haven't caught up in a while. What happened?

I’ve been in a font rut, this video arrived at JUST the right time, thanks kel!

i love the little details in odile and it kind of reminds me of the “The” from spongebob (this is a good thing i promise!!)
Maybe do a section on Hispanic/latinx designed fonts !!
Do you ever try hand writing in your favorite fonts? & what font is closest to your natural handwriting mines (Simpsons font)
I actually feel like i'm seeing soap everywhere recently
Here I go again installing every single font listed in this video cause one day I'll find a use for every one of them

C'mon Kel I was trying to go to bed now I gotta stay awake for another 34:25 :(
i never realized that sans serif fonts were ones that didn’t have those extensions 💀💀 when sans literally means without
Kel, ilysm.

I wanted to ask if you use adobe InDesign or just photoshop and illustrator?
