Jonny is just practicing this trick for his BATB death blow.
I wanna see him bust out the actual proper pressure flip under flip against Jamie, just for fun.
@@akashortflip him and Jamie will be one of the greatest games in history if they both are on their A game that day.
It's gonna be called Here's Johny!
If Jonny doesn't play fair like last time, he can destroy everybody
@@justterrell956 I agree, but I gotta wonder, how many of their circus tricks can they do consistently first try. That’s all that really matters in a game of skate.
The official name of this trick is, "I don't know, dude."
“I don’t know, man”
Ha
Idk flip
Dunno flip
raw material flip

Thanks Jonny! Nice video 🔥🔥🔥
Ur a god at sk8
You version was so beautiful, Ricky! #ilikesk8
@Timothy Bellette For real? That's gay.
Whatchu thanking him for

Back when i started Skating in the mid 90's, skating was about hanging out with your buddies and trying not to smash your shins (or your nuts) with your deck. We loved watching skate videos and pretty much worshipped anyone who could Ollie over 3 decks let alone consistently landing spin tricks. The idea that there are people hating on another skater is mind boggling to me, let along hating someone for landing any kind of trick. Calling a trick a low-blow in a game of skate is just moronic. If you can land a trick and your opponent can't why wouldn't you use it?
@@hllymchll Agree fully
Exactly my words 👍👌
@@hllymchll couldnt agree more. Cody Cepeda did a lot of pressure flips and it was fine because everything seemed legit. This other guy had and attitude an even lied about the impossible.
Same, I'm 39.. lol you could get a shop sponsorship if you could Ollie, kick and heel flip, along with variations of variels and 50-50 and 5 ohs
Tbh I think it’s an online thing more than anything, and the trend is mostly spread through newer skaters who want to be in on the joke. At my local skatepark it’s not like that at all
I think that trick looks super neat!
Especially the ones Dario did looked super smooth and stylish in my eyes. The one up the ramp?! Wow!
Dario’s “Wows” make the vid 10x better😂
Need hype guys more like Dario. Pure joy. Even when it's your 6th try and you then land he says wow first try.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!!
Rooting for you at BATB!!!
Jonny the best skater and the best human, oh and Dario love that guy.
Dario's got some real style on that hate flip
This was very well explained and demonstrated! I feel like the editing played a big part in the waterfall of hate in that BATB match. He definitely showed some poor sportsmanship, but who knows if it was genuine or by omission.
I accidentally landed this trick already back in 2004, when I was exploring impossible variations, and then I kept landing it consistently, called it Half Impossible. It's kind of an odd trick, but not too difficult and fun to do! 🙂
I love this video, thanks for the topic. But more importantly, thank you for the message - It’s so easy to attack people on the Internet, but we should all be doing our part to spread more love than hate. ❤️
I don't know, man.
It actually comes down to this, that people talk alot more about someones mistake, than on what he did all right!
A good varial flip is a pleasant sight to see. Yours are very nice.
Varial flips are legit. I think people don't like them because they are difficult for people who only know how to whip tre flips. I don't know why anyone wouldn't respect them. Guess I'm truly an old man.
@@Dokuji I think it’s because it’s such a primo hazard 😂 especially down stuff
U need a video doing all the tricks your opponent did in his "practice" video
Big respect on the love not hate comment! And on your general attitude, a pleasure to watch with your epic skating.
Under Pressure flip. Or the Vanilla Ice flip (because it's a lot like under pressure, but ever so slightly different)
I like Vanilla flip
I would call more like pressure cancel flip or something. Underflip isn't for sure
I had the same thought when i first saw it at BATB.
@@Siggvard i have a friend that does many pressure flips variations and that is one of them. We always call it like that. Although we are not sure of that's the correct name. But hey, who cares.
@@MrFuckingPolice My votes on pressure cancel flip, literally cannot think of a better name
@@sterlingburnsides9712 in my opinion, it's the most correct name cause all i see is a pressure inward but in the middle of the flip motion, you cancel with the foot. My friend does it like that
@Sterling Burnsides makes sense to me and sounds cool too.
For anyone who plays session, you can do this by catching an impossible halfway through
That's exactly how it feels to do it too. It's just a half-impossible..
7:03 I love you Jonny. You're such a great role model for the skateboarding community. I couldn't be happier that you inspire so many people. Thanks. 😘
Jonny you are a wonderful human being. Just one of those very few people that could literally not be hated by anyone. Keep it up man you are a gem ❤️
Could you please, for the sake of the mighty Skateboardgod ad another underflip in it. So it rotates one more time. 😉
Share the love! Can tell you’re a disciple of Mullens philosophy , he would be proud of you sir
Dario makes this videos soo much fun, thanks giger, bring him more
Great video that had to happen. Thanks for the effort, explained a lot.
always with the positive message, good job Jonny! 👍
I'd love to play you in a game of skate one day! People say me and you have similar skate styles. Much love!

Without judging the trick, you made a really nice video and its fun to watch 🔥✌🏽
I love the positivity by example! Great work!
Positive vibes only! 👊🏼 I love that trick I’m going to learn it tomorrow 😂
I appreciate you wanting people to not hate eachother for the misnamed tricks its okay people make mistakes
I actually really like the wrappy type tricks where grip tape gets the top of the foot it makes for really innteresting board movement.
We should collectively call it the Imposter Flip
Thats already a trick
@@Huntrea9 how about an Imposterble?
@@ReymMachine Im-Pasta-Ble.
Pasta flip 😁
InPastaBowl. So dumb lol
For my pop shuvs, my board tends to flip 180. I get really frustrated but now that I know I’m close to this I’m gonna try it
4:29 that switch flip is amazing
Shout out to anyone else who watches these videos mainly for Johnny's smooth melodic voice. The tricks are just icing on the velvety cake.
Love the part where he's like. We need to stop the negativity and just Stoke our fellow skaters. Jonny seems like such a humble dude.
dario's version looks so much better than seans
actually has the pressure flip motion rather than an accidental pressure motion from a popshuv.
also its really enjoyable watching u n dario just mess around you two are a great duo
It wasn't accidental tbf as it was the trick he was going for, but Jonny and Dario's both looked much better!
tbh varial flips need to get out of these lists
Why
@@hn1cerd1cer50 v flip is a super cool tick. Ppl hate it mostly because they can’t do it first try
its like a weird backfoot hospital flip haha... Great video as always!
i agree that its not easy to distinguish, especially without those slowmos and when you aren't already really focusing on what exactly happens/you dont already know what to expect.
on the other hand i like that one, it looks nice.
It’s always a good day when the homie Dario comes through
Koston did that trick in a game of skate and Mike mo said he learned the impossible lateflip cuz koston did that pressure half flip
Almost looks like a back foot casper flip in some angles. Also when you forget how good Dario is
You can do the same thing frontside & it looks like a guided front shuvit. 1/2 pressure hard flip 1/2 underflip. With the pressure hardflip variation & the impossible variation, you could have 8 tricks (regular, nollie, switch, fakie, x2). Get all 8 on lock & you'd probably be able to take out almost anyone in skate in one turn because they're such rare tricks.
Thank you for this... this was the best explanation yet I knew when I saw the trick it wasn't a pressure flip underflip but it wasn't a pop shuv either so now what do we name it
Eric Koston actually did this trick a few years back during an unsanctioned battle. Back them he didn't knew the name of it
very nice, love these tricks
if you slow it down frame by frame when you were doing the side by side vs pop shuv it around 9:00 ....its like a varial but only half a flip with half of an underflip back, or just a super tweaked out pop shuv it
If Sean actually tried to explain the trick to Shaun it would have been fine.
Who cares? Why get so mad for this
@@JL-tj9hi Because most people are losers with nothing better to do...
@@JL-tj9hi it was just unsportsmanlike of him, he did a controversial trick which is fine, but didn't even try to help his competitor learn it.
@@_PoLR yep that’s it
It's a competition, not skateboard school 🙄
I've done this trick many times, up until this battle I was the first person I'd seen do it in my 16 years of skating. It's not a pop shuv although it can sometimes look like it (especially the way he did it). You do a pressure flip but leave your back foot hanging then when the board is upside down you flip back the other way.
My 2nd favorite skater next to Bam Magera. Much love from New Zealand!!
Watching guys like Ricky and Jonny make me wish I would've never stopped skating when I was a kid....maybe by now I would've been half as good as them 😫😢 to see Jonny nail all of the tricks known to man is amazing the dedication he puts in to getting it down in crazy! Even after putting it down if it wasn't to his liking he keeps doing it over until it's absolutely perfect 🤌 I'm oldschool and Rodney was my favorite skater growing up I watched guys like bucky lasek, chris cole, natas kaupus, steve caballero ect ect and I swear Jonny would've been my go to on ANY game lol currently my favorite skater NO DOUBT 👍✌
I was more upset about the impossibles that did not have any wrap but I do remember seeing a lot of comments talk about his death blow trick
What size do you skate Mr. Giger? Also keep up the vids couldn't live without em
It's not the trick we hated... It's the attitude of the douch doing it 😂
Such a stylish way to do pop-shuvits ;)
Was literally watching your videos today!!
I was wondering where I've seen this trick before! I think Eric Koston did this in the BATB X Unsanctioned Battle: Mike Mo's Justice League vs. Chris Roberts' Legion of Doom.
We need the batb stats guy here.
He did. The trick is at 5:10 in the video of Justice League VS Legion of Doom
Been doing these for years I’ve just always called it a “ possible“ for obvious reasons.
That deffo should be its name if it isn't already
Great video! Spread positivity not negativity!!
@jonny giger it's a back foot hospital/Casper flip
It does look like a pop shove it but adding a lil more steeze or making it stylish
are those the bright yellow maglights i see your buddy riding? tensor is the future!
Much respect to you Jonny! I think that the lack of rotation is what people don't like. Because it was caught in less rotation than a primo (less than 1/4 of a full rotation) I don't think personally that counts as anything other than a nuance or stylish way to do a shuv. Kinda like if you catch a kickflip primo but hold on and land it's not a kickflip under flip.. just a crazy kickflip. Still big up to both Sean and Shawn for continuing the battle out of respect for each other, the community and skateboarding as a whole.
Wishing you all the best in BATB! I obviously want Jonny to go the distance, but I also want him to push the standard. Let's say he wins with his bag of tricks that nobody else does..
There will be people who will give him flack. But this year TEN of the biggest FLAT GROUND tournament. Jonny is one of the very few who could innovate and push the limit of what games of skate could be. Sweep their legs and leave them in the dust Jonny!
At 3:47 w the slow mo. The way he catches it by like nudging the middle of the board is actually pretty sick to me for whatever reason. I’m a fan.
I can do pressure heels not rocket! Im not sure if its a half underflip since you are using the grip side! Also, Ive done it before and knew it as a Jovan flip!
The clip u showed when talking about muska flips was a pressure inward heel??
youve convinced me, i just turned 21 gonna buy my 1st skateboard tommorow never too late to start
3:42 I know that feeling, just “ugh, how did I even manage to fall, I’m just gonna lay here and reevaluate my skate choices” 😂
I love your vids but have one question. Do you ever dress as Mario for 🎃👻Halloween? Stash is perfect!
More like Luigi cause he looks tall 🤣
There is a rule on BATB where they say "lets keep it clean lets keep it lean" so it doesn't matter if it is an impossible whatever late something or a shovit but should be simpler if this kind of trick could be avoided to keep things clean and lean
Btw nice video!
Love your videos especially with dario!
The problem I had with Sean Davis’ version of this trick is the fact there doesn’t seem to be any form of scoop like an impossible or a pressure flip, the board is popped to a sort of 90 degree angle and then corrected with his back foot. The berrics has cracked down on the distinction between 3 shuvs and impossibles then they should do the same with this trick. If hes calling it a pressure flip under flip, there should be some aspect of pressure flip to this trick
Haven't seen the match this trick happened in yet, but the berrics made a point of distinction with wrapped vs not impossible.
Following that logic, yeah this trick is clearly wrapped so it's not a plain shuv.
There's literally no wrap at all lmao. An impossible wraps around your back foot. At no point does the board touch the top of his back foot.
@@Fossil87 this is why people find it impossible to discuss skating on the internet. 🥁
7:09 Yes 100% Do you use a follow gimble or moving the shot in post? Looks great. (Edit - nvm it's a bit of both.) Beautiful. IMO , no trick should be shunned or excluded. Anything to grow skating. You never know when someone can add on to a trick or motion completely reinventing something new. Keep it open minded
перевод от Яндекса просто шикарен , поцаны! старый добрый сальто давления!
Wait! Isn't it a fs pressure flip undeflip? When I do my pressure flips I get my griptape to my face side. Not the deckside. 🤔🤔
when the homie said “woww first try” i started dying 😂😂😂😂
Okk it's possible with 1 flip or two.. Great video. I love Underflips 🤗
i personally would say it looks more like pressure hospital(casper) flip kinda thing than any shove variation
Man tks a lot, now I see its not the same trick, and what a good vibe outta there 🙌
I would call it pressure cancelflip. but idk. Tricknames are sometimes super confusing and you can look at the same thing from different angles. For me an underflip is when your foot is under the board and flip it on the grafic not on the griptape. So I would call this a cancelflip bc you start the rotation and before one full flip you stop it and put it back in the original place
When I was a kid everyone did musks flip hard flips. It was hard to learn because I thought you had to make it flip over like a half impossible. If someone just said it’s a frontside varial kick flip it would have saved me time. Naming is all over the place.
what do you think of those tensor maglights atg you are riding? amazing Right! glad to see you make the switch like Ryan Gallant
What’s gallant even doing these days I haven’t seen any footy of him in yeeaaars
@@aryanritchie7759 owns visit skateboards. Puts out clips every week!
man idk where you live but that place looks beautiful, when I was 19 I had to move away from being out in the country, I hate the city life dude.
Super, der Hintergrund dieses Videos ist Skatelove.
Awesome, the main reason for this video is skatelove.
Thanks for spreading love and awareness Jonny. It's funny how opinionated people often get heard. While the rational people often get shut up. It's a competition, one guy goes outside the box to win. Then the majority shows him hate because it worked. Jealousy and controversy fuels too much division. Thanks for attempting to unite us Jonny.
Been waiting so long for you to get back to BATB, so hyped to see how you do. Good luck and all the best
i’m trying to learn pressure flips (inward heel version) and my foot keeps going under the board like an impossible. to much pressure? idk what i’m doing wrong
Straighten your back foot. Parallel with the board. Try that.
kickflip shuvs deserve all the scorn they get but i dont think 180 pressures were ever uncool - they feel great! keep the great videos coming bruz, although i think you spelled benihana wrong.
BE AWESOME IF HE DID THIS IN BATB. it would bring the comedy and tragedy of fun to this episode
How about calling it a halfpossible? Or an Improbable, a semi-possible? Desite the hate and controversy (completely blown out of proportions and settled, btw) I really liked that trick
"Improbable" is a good one 👍
I setup and execute that trick in the same way as a pressure flip, so I've always called it a "pressure under flip" myself
Homie with the "Waaaooowww" needs to film ya more lolol
Nice trucks Tensors Mag Light are amazing
@ 8:57 "whatever this is in slo-mo" Kid in background: Definitely not a pressureflip underflip
I love pop shuvs💯💜
I uses to do all my hardflips with my whole back foot kind of set up like a tre flip , so id still call this a fancy shuvit but nice!
