  • The 2024 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite is one of the last four minivans standing, the others being the Chrysler Pacifica (now the only model Chrysler makes), the Toyota Sienna (which only comes as a hybrid), and the Kia Carnival (which is easily the most feature packed minivan on the market). All four minivan competitors offer buyers a number of different selling points, the least of which is space (because they're all basically huge now). The Honda Odyssey attempts to be all things to all people: it's one of the most spacious minivans you can buy, it's loaded with practical features and amenities, and it drives incredibly well. But like the Honda Odyssey's competitors, offering something sometimes means giving something else up. The Honda Odyssey can only be had in front-wheel drive with a naturally aspirated powertrain. All three minivan competitors now offer hybrid trims (or in the case of the Toyota Sienna only come as a hybrid), and all three minivan competitors offer some form of all-wheel drive. So how does the Honda Odyssey compete against something like the Kia Carnival, a minivan loaded with options and tech? The Odyssey drives better for one; there aren't many powertrains more satisfying than a Honda V6. What about the Toyota Sienna, one of the best minivans you can buy? Well, the Honda Odyssey is much larger inside than the Toyota Sienna, the smallest of the minivans. What about the Chrysler Pacifica, which offers a PHEV trim for decent EV range as well as fold flat stow and go seating? The Honda Odyssey won't break like the Pacifica. However, depending on what you need from your minivan, the Honda Odyssey's all around goodness might be what you're looking for... or not. With older kids like ours, the Honda Odyssey would probably fall to the Toyota Sienna or Kia Carnival, which offer fancier second row captain's chairs. What do YOU want out of a minivan? Let us know in the comments, and let us know what you think of the 2024 Honda Odyssey touring elite trim. We'd love to hear from you! (Our reviews of the other four minivans are below!)

Honda needs to update the van in the inside like the Chrysler Pacifica and bring the van into 2024

  • @amomentarygenius

The reason minivans don't have heated second row seats is because it would difficult, or not recommended by the manufacturer, to remove the second row. Some minivan owners require their van to quickly go from a people mover to a cargo van and back again. The Toyota Sienna is the only minivan that has second row that can't be removed, so we'll see how that affects its sales

She doesn’t know much about minivans. That much was demonstrated.

  • @Zn0nimus

Kia actually is only FWD as well for their Carnival. Only Toyota and Crysler have AWD, and both are like $10k more, that's roughly a 15 year break even timeline at about 8,000 miles/year. As of right now in 2024, the hybrid options don't really matter in terms of money savings.

  • @StellarFella

If the Honda Odyssey is the roomiest, why wouldn't it be an even better van for older and bigger kids?

Love our 2024 Odyssey Touring! The only thing I would like is a 360-degree camera system to aid in parking. People say the tech is a little out-dated, but we just added an Amazon Firestick which adds a ton of functionality. The 10-speed tranny is smooth and the V-6 delivers adequate power when you push it. I get 30 MPG on the freeway.

Great review. Very true that Honda seems to be slowing down on minivan redesign schedule (1999,2005,2011,2018 … so where is the 2025??). Would definitely consider a hybrid version of the Odyssey. Good that the competition will all provide that by years end.

"Only Vans" it is funny 😂

  • @Adam-ew3yf

Ironic that SHE is dishing out a 2/10 rating for looks.

  • @Watchman999

Lots of fancy bits and they couldn’t put LED bulbs in the map lights etc as standard?

  • @StellarFella

Please do your homework before you rapid fire with pointless opinions.

Amazing that men appreciate the utility and practicality of minivans while women largely have a nonlogical negative reaction towards minivans that is most often based on close to zero knowledge.

  • @bftram8312

    Lots of Space Odyssey

The styling looks like a funeral hearse. No thanks.

  • @bigjim052671

    She is annoying

  • @rinbine2713

    It is a ugly minivan.
