"Sheep" is a song by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on the album Animals in 1977. In 1974, it was originally titled "Raving and Drooling". It was written by bassist Roger Waters.

I've always loved Pink Floyd, but it was this song that convinced me that David Gilmour was pure genius. That is why he is known as "Lord Of The Strings" 💍 🧙♂️🎸.
The outro with Gilmour's guitar and Mason's drums always makes me smile.

Yeah. A perfect, very fitting finale for the album. I'm aware that, at this point, the second part of "Pigs on the Wing" has yet to come, but that is a sort of "ending credits", if you want to think at this masterful album in cinematic terms.
The base as well! In the middle of the solo, when the base comes in with its up and down, almost bouncy rythm. It makes it so upbeat and just sounds amazing with everything combined :D

lyrics are both profound and disturbing.
This is one of those, you have to hear the whole album to get it. Powerful grooves in this album. Animals, is a reflection of who WE are. Are you a selfish pig? An easily manipulated sheep? Or a dog that feels nothing cause he’s ALWAYS on the defensive?

Love it! I spent my youth in the 70's. My favorite albums were Pink Floyd's DSOTM, Animals, WYWH, Meddle, Jethro Tull's Aqualung and Ozark Mountain Daredevil's "Quilt" album. Did we have great music or what?

Although it is revered I've always thought that The Wall was a mess in reality and could be pruned to be a much better single album, Meddle, DSOTM, WYWH and Animals represent peak Floyd output, considering the UK music scene and the social and political landscape in 76/77 Animals is an astonishing piece of work.

in the 80's I was 17 year old and just to smoke a Joint lay down in bed with mu headphone and listen to this album the experience was super cool an I still doing the same thing over the years, now I'm 55 and still love this album,, which for me is the best Pink Floyd album.

Animals PF concert 1977, @ Angel Stadium....ripped!
The cloud of smoke over the top when the wind blew ! Angels got some also ! This song really doesn't have much to do with sheep, more about government s and treatment of people, at least that's my take. Or maybe how people can be sheep, god I don't know pink Floyd's songs are deep

Considering all of this interest in Rock across RUclips and in society it shocks and disappoints me that 'Diva Pop' and Rap actually dominate the scene today.
I've been waiting for this one. Decent line up too. Although I can't get one of them to react to the first 15 minutes of "ELP live in Switzerland 1970". Money talks in this game. ☮️

animals is a very dark and pessimistic photograph of our society. If we really want to find some positivity we can find it here in this song. The humble and the oppressed are the only ones with a way of salvation, which today we would call "revolution".
Those who are truly hopeless are the servants of the masters and in fact in dogs social pessimism reaches the highest level.
