Metallica is an American heavy metal band. The band was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career.
In an interview with drummer Lars Ulrich on the set of the production MTV Icon: Metallica in 2003, he recalls how he and vocalist/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield were "obsessed with death" at the time the album and song were produced.
James Hetfield - lead vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar
Lars Ulrich - drums
Kirk Hammett - lead guitar
Cliff Burton - bass guitar

To all listeners of that killer solo....that is Kirk fu**in Hammett🎸🤘🏼
Correction: that is Kirk FU@&ING Hammett!!!
@@krakenhawkstratdude204 2x Correction: this is KIRK FUCKING HAMMET BRO
And the drummer…is just fucking Lars
@@eddieandrews2636 lmao
Dave’s solo almost note for note.
We owe it all to Cliff Burton. R.I.P. Cliff, you are sorely missed.
Cliff was amazing. He was a musician and actually went to school to learn music composition and everything else. Him and Randy Rhodes, who were both killed in tragic accidents one by plane which was so stupid and Cliff in the bus crash
Yeah
THE GOAT!
❤❤😢😢🙌🏼🙌🏼never forgotten
Not all of it. But some of it yes.
Pink Metal Head definitely got it. She was in the lyrics and the moment with the music. She took it all in.
She always is. Love watching her reactions.
Yup she's feeling the sadness
She gets it man, most beautiful song ever written
she will cry with Baby Shark or Jingle Bells.
It's 2022, and I think kirk is still playing the beautiful never ending solo.
No matter how many times I listen to this song, it still gives me chills like the first time I heard it.
Me too bro! Me too! 🤘
🤘
Glad to see new people enjoying the experience of Metallica. Metallica is by far my favorite band of all time. I used to listen to master of puppets every morning before work. Been a fan since 83
Same, about same time. Saw them in 85 for the first time in DC monsters of Rock
I've seen them 5 times. 3 of those I was in the snake pit. I'm still sore.........im 50 now😭
soo painful, I grew up in the 80s and I so deeply loved my metal . and it's early morning and Iam still in bed watching this review, I recently lost my mother and listening and thinking back to those old good old days has gripped my heart and I have tears steaming down my face cause of this amazing song that hit me right in the heart.
hope youre good brother. metal combines us all! love from germany
I hear ya, those were the best days
There comes a point in life where one realizes their childhood is dead, never to come back. It's one of the crappiest feelings and makes me hope with all my might that there is something after life that is truly never ending. My deepest condolences for your mom.
Definitely right there with you . Gives u chills and will bring tears to your eyes. Classic.
🙏🏿🙏🏿💔
Cliff Burton would be 60 years old 2 days ago now if that stinking bus did not crush him!
Happy Birthday Clifford Lee Burton. You are sorely missed!
They played Orion at his funeral
@@earlydiscontent3330 Ohhh Yurrrr!!

Thank you! Enjoy!
That solo is what always catches my emotions. Its the screams for help.
I've been hearing this song since I was 16 in 86. Lately the more I hear it the more meaningful it gets.

Everyone hears and listens. PinkMetalhead feels it. 😭
Wow. Just wow. Im almost without words. Every reactor i love the best is captured in one video. And to one of the greatest metal songs ever written. Yes, metallica ate musical fckn geniuses. Are there better musicians? Yes. Are there better songwriters? Yes. I could go on but i digress. Point being the chemistry and energy and magic that those four artists produce as a symbiotic unit is legendary. It's the fact that they want to hear what they want to heat and apparently so does about 75% of the world. Im considering making my own channel to listen to my favorite band of all time and examining and explaining what i hear and why it excites me. Lmk if that's a good idea. A metallica education. But just from a lifelong fans standpoint
Do it! You only live once brother :)
One of the greatest songs ever. Period
I don’t care what kind of music you listen to, this song is beautiful 🤩
Fade to Black… eines meiner absoluten Lieblingslieder 🖤 das Gefühl kann ich nicht beschreiben… aber mir laufen vor lauter Emotionen immer die Tränen. Ich liebe Metallica!!
There is so much greatness in this band its very difficult for me to keep my thoughts brief. If you only played the music i could listen for hours, but then the lyrics take you on this mind blowing journey. I didn't find Metallica till 89 but since, it has been musically inescapable. Transitions in their music are flawless. Guitar play of the gods. Thank you Metallica...
This song always reminds me of Diary of a Madman. Both are masterpieces.
Six strings and a sounding board....and the heart and soul to make them move you. A gift they honed to perfection with hard work and dedication. I thank them for making a masterpiece which moves me and many others. Corny but true.
This takes me way back to my childhood years, still sounds amazing...
Good times good memories
I truly miss the early 80s , wish I had a time machine and one way ticket back
Me too bro 🙋🏻♂️ I miss the 80s
Hetfields own favourite of his/Metallica. From sad and beautiful to a kickass solo.
Outstanding editing! Because I know damn well a few of these reactors like to pause & RIF.
🙌👊
Glitch in the Matrix daughter looks like she's being punished for not taking out the trash.
lmao top comment!
She always looks like that way.
She's a teenager
Damn, took me decades back in time, highschool in L.A. Ca. All of the sudden I was a long haired metal head again. Damn, good times. Thanks for this.
I used to listen this every morning when i was getting ready for work. One of the greatest songs ever
These are the reactions I had to metallica when I was 8 or so. My older cousin gave me a cassette in the late 80s and I felt it right then and there. Right in my soul. Lol.
Just the guitar in the intro makes your soul stop and think deeply & get ready for what's to come in this song. ROCK ON!
Fade to Black. Subscribed & Liked. METALLICA FTW!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Everything about the song is amazing, but christ, those lyrics hit me so hard in a very personal way.
For years it spoke to my depression. Now that I've gotten help, it reminds me of that helpless, hopeless feeling of despair, without actually feeling it still
Liked and subbed, thank you for the excellent work Multi React-A-Thon...you gotta admire how seamlessly you put all the vids together....well done
Thank you for your generous compliments!
By far one of my favorite songs by Metallica my life in a shell
RIP to the best bassist that ever lived...Cliff Burton!
I have this song as my alarm, they say don't put your favorite song as alarm bc you will gonna hate that song but 1 and a half year later I still woke up in the morning feeling energised and singing the song in the morning
the double bass from lars at the end is brilliant.
There will never, never be another Metallica period. This is my all time favorite metal band and when I explain what they did, the road they paved, people don't get it. When I tell them how hard they rock and not only the music but the words. There wasn't any there will never be another Metallica. They made everything the rock/metal industry has been for the past 40 years. So, to those who talk shit about Metallica when you take the industry by storm and remain at the top for over 40 years then come talk to me. At this point all anybody else can do is imitate them. You may make hits, you may rock, you may become famous, but there will never be another Metallica. Give respect where respect is due. If anybody was ever truly in beast mode....it's Metallica hands down.
Metallica isn't even Metallica anymore
I was fortunate to see them years ago when they opened for Ozzy !!Ciff Burton was still alive. They opened with Battery!!!I was blown away and have been a diehard fan since!!
Been listening metallica since 1989.what a epic band and there music, concures all
If you haven't heard yet Mr. Hammett plays guitar. Another dimension opens when this man plays a solo. This is a man born to play this instrument. 👏 my life and my world becomes bigger when I hear genius like that. A rare and beautiful breed. Thanks for bringing this to all people...peace
They were such raw geniuses back then. All four of them. My favorite band of the 80s decade.
Growing up on this was the best part of my childhood. Back then those who didn't get it called it random noise and screaming. I'm glad to see another generation see it for what it is.
This has always been my fav song by Metallica. I'm 67 years old.
Vin and Sori I give you props my guy your beat was on point with the song ❤❤❤🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
They are about 20 to 22 years old when they dropped this musical journey on the world. A couple of them probably had been working on a version of this song in their since they were teenagers not knowing it would come together so masterfully.
Crazy song. The best sound of everything in It. It is so beautiful, so epic, so hairaising, so sweet, so heartwarming and strong, ah, oh
Metallica means transitions or rather KINGS of transitions.
"Ride the Lightning"
Still my favorite Metallica album
Love seeing the reaction of all of them, and how they appreciate the music. Now they know what we were talking about back in our youth.
Listened to this stuff 30 years ago. Time sure flies.
This is my Death Dirge.... my brother's and wife will play it at my funeral.
I'm not sure what was more entertaining between Metallica Tearing It Up, or watching Vin get into it. 😉
I subscribed to Vin and Sori, because you could tell that they are Rockers like myself. Lost in Vegas looked like they totally enjoyed it. I was surprised that the one Long Hair wasn't getting into it like Vin. LOL
Anyways, I enjoyed watching this, but even though they weren't really talking during the song being able to hear everyone during was a little off putting. I agree with one of the comments below. I liked how you went around the group, and allowed each person to give their feedback.

The Best Metallica Song ever
Pinkmetalhead is gorgeous 🥰
Just want to point out dude in the upper left, Crown Family is having a completely difference experience. He's got D-Day from Saving Private Ryan playing in the background 🤣 ☠
This song played on classical instrument is absolutely stunning… I don’t know why but it sounds like was written by classical masters
God bless you for letting the new generation to appreciate one of the greatest metal bands of all time Metallica I know the millennials do not want to admit that their music came from our music that’s how music evolves
This song literally saved my life back in my teens
Just a quick thought. In the intro, when you added the 3rd screen, that's what ADHD feels/sounds like on a good day. When you added the last kne, that's what it's like on a bad day!
Great video, awesome message!
Thay FCKN DOUBLE BASS DRUM IS THUMPING!!! METALLICA NEVER DISAPPOINTS
These are some AWESOME clips!!!!
Keep it up!!!!
Metallica: Seek & Destroy!!!!
KILL 'EM ALL
1sr concert!!!! Aragon Chicago!!!!
Awesome Live!!!!
I like that Maurice Jones Drew in the upper left had Saving Private Ryan running at the same time as Fade To Black was playing. 😃
That's cause some idiot made the video, this song has nothing to do with saving private Ryan, but has to do with depression and sucide
I've been looking for one of these channels. New sub and I'll be around as long as you keep putting these out.
VinAnd sori.. You are the one!
The most controversial song when it came out but this is my favorite Metallica song of all time i cried the first time i listened to it
Back in.time i had a friend, we listened this song over and over and over trying to learn it, we were young, confused and "too macho" to speak our deepest feelings and i didn't see what was comming... Yes he hung himself and i lost him forever and never knew what was going on. The crazy thing is that i was in a real dark place too at that point but i could get out... So so meaningful song to me
thank for doing this i play this songs live on my twitch channel, this is so coool to see
This song is my therapy
This was awesome! Once again thanks for your hard work on these! Also I hate to be that guy, but any chance for a System of a Down multi-reaction? lol
Yeah maybe it's possible! What a hyper band they are! The Chop Suey! track looks popular in reactions! Crazy video with hard rock! Amazing its 18 years old.
VinAnd Sori cool react)
First video I've seen of yours & I gotta say that I love how you put it together! New sub, definitely!
love the guy in the top-middle. awesome feeling.
The guitar intro was from heaven
I want this song played at my funeral.
Cliff Burton was a huge Lynnard Skynnard fan. Drove Lars crazy
Another reason why Lars sucks and Cliff was the man
Fade to black is about suicide.A great song from the album Ride The Lightning
Its a song about having your Marshall amp stolen.
My favorite song by Metallica is one
God bless metallica and metallica fans all over the world
This is my favorite song of all time....exactly!
Metallica is the greatest band to ever walk the earth
PinkMetalHead we love your reaction!!!!
Welcome peeps to the most beautiful metal song ever written, tears are at your privilege...enjoy❤
Yeah METALLICA!!! More MORE!!!
Pink metal head rules
You all need to react to ORION BY METALLICA!!
any one else notice that many old Metallica songs show and talk about war! yet if you actually look at the meaning they all are James demons with Addiction and alcoholism and the feeling of inadequacy! master of puppets, one, sanitarium, and fade to black! millions love his songs because so many relate to the feelings of helplessness! love ya James!
Wow great work bro👍❤
Fade to black has always been been my favourite metalluca album
It's not an album...
R.i.p. Cliff we love and miss you
Timeless Classic
I c old not wait for that last square to fill in.

I went to this concert when I was 15
I love this song it gives me strength cause I gave up in my self I took 20 oxycodyn I tried taking my own life but I keep listening too it cause it gives me strength believing in my Lord Jesus Christ that who wants me and loves me, thank you Metallica for making this song God bless you. ❤❤😢😊 Metallica.
Remember folks there were early twenties here ..ponder that..
I'm so lucky I got to hear this when it first came out. These guys were my favorite band untilI the Black album came out
I totally agree!
My friend and I went to Sam Goody's in the mall to get the Black album as soon as it released.
We went out and put the cassette into his Pontiac Sunbird and listened to the first side in silence while driving around the neighborhood.
I ejected the tape to turn it over and asked my friend if was even enjoying the music.
He said it kind of sucked, and I pitched it out the window.
I don't know exactly what I learned that day, but littering is gross...
That was the day Metallica died in my opinion.
@@wyatth2992 I never bought it, because the friends I had did and they all broke their tapes and albums. Metallica wasn't the same Metallica anymore. It was a very sad day for me
I almost 50 and still listen to them
Lost in vegas and king KTF are good
Vin top middle thought he was being entertaining.......No stop that!!
Well I don't know you personally but I felt like you weren't really listening with your soul my dude.
I BLEED internally when this track plays and I ain't even a touchy feely kinda guy?
such a Masterpiece!!!
There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.
~ Carl Gustav Jung
Wow you all are children. Your just discovering what I've been listening to my whole life. Since 1985 when my father put Motley crew on my tiny baby ears and cranked it up till my ears bled
