King Tonga. That was his name in Montreal ' s International wrestling. Great memories. Great wrestler
as well as the beginning of WWF career he had the King Tonga name
Like Geant Ferre, he will always be King Tonga... with Tarzan La botttine Tyler as his manager.
@@vlada Initially Eddie Creatchman, Tyler took over when Creatchman left due to illness
Even Haku has to answer to Somebody...
"I said Let's live here,but the wife said no..so we didn't."- Haku.
He still looks like he can walk into today's WWE locker room and be the toughest person in there.
if he walked in there, they'd all disintegrate into a pile of dust in about 3 seconds.... like that donovan guy in "last crusade" when he picks the wrong grail. ok, maybe 15 seconds.
King Tonga c'était mon lutteur préférer quand j'étais jeune. Un vrai phénomène.
Haku = HALL OF FAME.
Should have been years ago Brother real talk 💯
Agreed. One of my favorite personalities in wrestling... no gimmicks, just super slappy chops.
Was introduced to wrestling with International Wrestling... Miss it to this day!
I have seen so many great matches between Dino and King Tonga for the International title. Once at the Montreal Forum for the christmas holidays it was jammed packed, I thought Dino would get back the title but no King Tonga defeated him with of course the help of his manager Tarzan Tyler. Great memories before WWE take over our wonderfull territory!
the fact that he's alive and highly lucid and multilingual and looks good and sounds good pretty much proves that he was the toughest guy in the bunch. he and hogan are in a longevity race and I'm putting big money on Haku.
''Va chier tabarnak Haku!'' hahaha
He talk better english then barbarian
C Man liver lips
@@CP-kb1du hannibal tv got a interview with Barbarian
The wrestler he was talking about who passed was Pierre Mad Dog Lefebvre and the one from Montreal who teamed with the Puerto Rican might have been Rocky Della Serra.
I remember Pierre Mad Dog Lefebvre teaming up with Frenchy Martin to face the Rougeau a lot. If I remember right, he and Adrian Adonis died in the same car accident.
I think Dino Bravo being involved with the mafia is why you don’t hear about him too much in WWE. Had he not joined he’d probably be in the Hall Of Fame right now.
There's no leaving the life once your in
They probably wouldn’t have put him in there anyways
OMFG!!!! entendre king tonga dire "vas don chier, tabarnac!" just made me do a legit spit-take, j'ai pris une gorger de ma biere en meme temps, pis la y'a d'la brew tous partout, 'sti!! i was 10yrs old when king tonga showed up in montreal, & i idolized dino bravo... what a great run, first heel, then face. excellent times!!!
There was a tag team of Rick Martel and Tom Zenk in International wrestling at about this time, it's where the Can Am Connection was formed although they didn't use that name yet.
Haku appreciates different cultures. Respect
One of the few guys in his prime who could hand Brock his a..👍
Nah.
@@tomtanaka841 Why?
Heard a story where he was in a bar/restaurant having a meal and minding his own business when a couple of guys came in and started messing with him and he didn't do anything but tried to leave and the guys followed him to his car still messing with him and he finally had enough and fought the two guys and supposedly breaking the ones jaw and the other was missing teeth. Can anyone verify this?
umm... i say do some research, no offense at all. he "no-sold" being maced by cops, broke free from handcuffs, roughed up at least 8 of those same pork chops. (snuka once got "batoned" over his head, looked at the cop & said, "brudda, don't do that again".) haku also bit off the tip of some guy's nose that challenged him in a resto-bar. cops showed up, & haku says, while pointing at the floor, "there's his nose, over there." pre-pro wrestling, he sumo wrestled in japan. in montreal, back in the king tonga days, the mob apparently tried, & failed, to recruit him as an "enforcer". oh, & then there's jesse barr, aka, jimmy jack funk. he became 'one-eyed-jack', or jesse "barred of one eye" barr after pissing off haku. literally.
Very weird to see him at Toyota of kissimmee as the manager there small world
probably the most dangerous dude in a public place/bar situation, to mess with. i wouldn't even look at him.
Hostie que c'est bon!
Haku should go in the hall of fame based on his OUT of the ring exploits alone. 😝
i wish haku would have talked more about the dino bravo murder but he didnt want to. dino was in the mafia in that life its violence and treachery the only way out is in the ground or in prison. some mobsters leave the life and dont snitch or cooperate and do well for themself but the ones that snitch have to be protected by the witness protection program. like henry hill said that lifestyle is intoxicating.
@fluke the stories i read and listened to is rick martel tried to get dino back into the wwe but vince said no. vince said dino does not fit into our plans anymore. martel said dino could not or would not work a regular job basically what im saying is bravo always wanted to be wealthy and not work some POS job. dino also told his close friends like bret hart that he knew his days were numbered because he crossed the mafia.
some tv show should do a reenactment of the dino bravo murder.
Why should he know anything about the murder? Ask him about wrestling the guy, sure. But they were just co-workers. It's not like there was a Wikipedia entry floating over Dino Bravo's head and a bunch of mob guys following him around the locker room.
@Fluke but by that point Bravo past his prime and they were going into a different direction anyway but we did'nt know at that time same with Kerry Von Erich and Andre 1993 was a domino effect like that
Haku speaking Quebecois slang is awesome!
Je me souviens à ses débuts au Québec, son entraîneur avais une mallette avec bcp d'argent à celui qui réussira à le battre.
When did Hannibal have a sex change?
