The Leg is caused by Lymphedema which is the buildup of Lymph fluid, that's not fat in his leg.

Because he never stopped walking. If he stopped he wouldn’t have been able to get back up. He really is a fighter.

I love this young man’s attitude, he’s a trooper. He gave it his all, didn’t complain and worked his butt off through the pain to lose some of the weight to get healthier. He did so good!

The place where you carry the most weight is the last place you lose weight. So when someone is losing weight you will see a difference in their face, arms, hands, and neck first.

I wonder what will happen after dr now is no longer around. Hes a blessing for alot of people, so i hope someone can step up to the plate and take over for him, when he can no longer do this
I think TLC has been prepping 2 doctors to eventually take this over, such as dr. Procter and dr. Smith. The two are doing 1000 lb sisters and 1000 lb best friends.
There are lots of bariatric surgeons including those at the same facility.
He's a good man and did a good thing going on the TV to show people there's hope but he's just one of many out there around the world
What do you mean " no longer around"? He's still alive and at 79, shows no desire to hang up his stethoscope!
@@drowningnotwaving as in when he retires or passes away. Theres not many doctors like him anymore. He holds ppl accountable, doesnt put up with their bs, tells u exactly how it is. Hes straight to the point and gives the "tough love" to get ppl where they need to be. He obviously isnt going to live forever and ppl like working with him, over the other doctors there

What a great guy. He had a goal, and he set it. Losing 600 pounds in 2 years is absolutely amazing. Great attitude the whole way through. Most ppl get defensive cause they’re afraid of change. This guy wanted change for the better. And he got it, huge grats.

I don’t want to carry a bag of garbage if it’s too heavy. He is LIFTING/supporting and carrying close to 1k lbs on two legs, one spine.

Wonderful to see this! Dr Now is my hero. What a great job JT did so far, lost so much weight, wow! I think depression is at the core of all weight gain. How to fix depression? Sunlight on bare skin for an hour daily helps a great deal, so does exercise, sleep, and the right foods. That is the key to life.

I don't understand why they couldn't get the lymphedema off before it got that big like why did they have to wait for it to get huge and then him to lose weight
I think it would come back if they aren't losing weight bc the weight is causing it but I'm not a dr.
Also putting someone that big under anaesthetic is very risky

I adore dr now. That man is a miracle worker. He's stern but so compassionate. That young man is so huge till he bursting out of his clothes! He's wearing rags! Kinda like the incredible hulk! I watched this episode and it turned out to be a success story. Handsome young guy. I hope things are going well for him.

I've seen someone in my family who was not too far from 600 lbs. I really don't see how people this big have jobs that pay enough for them to own a decent house and a car and have enough money to not worry financially. Meanwhile, I see everyone else working hard and going home with barely enough energy to stand because the physical work was so hard, and the pay is terrible.
Don’t know what happened that this guy slipped down the slope into such crazy debilitating weight, but at least he took control and responsibility and changed it.

It's interesting how 2 years into his weight loss, the top half of his body looked especially like any other average, slightly overweight, adult. With his surgery, i hope we see an update that shows him living a healthy life in a body he feels great about!

While in many countries poor people go hungry to bed, in the US they go poisened to sleep, poisened by the corn industry and the Fast Food lobby!!!! The only supermarket in the USA where I found the food ateable was WholeFood ... The US-government has to do something about this. All this pain, just because of selfish lobbying!!!

The human body can do some amazing things. When I left an office job for my current, more physically demanding one, I lost about 50 pounds. When I need to loft something that weighs about that much, I think about what it would feel like if I had to carry that item around in a backpack my whole shift. It seems impossible but I know for a fact that I did it. I've actually started ro put some weight on, but I'm pretty sure that's muscle since work continues to feel less demanding, and my clothes are feeling looser, not tighter.
So impressive on all levels 💪
For being just shy of 900 lbs., he has a relatively thin face.
So to all the crybabies that have been on this show who are 600 pounds and claim they cannot walk, and are bedridden, well that is a choice. But this guy? Is an example of an almost 1 ton young man who doesn't even have to use a walker. This is determination. All the best!

JT was no angel either if you watch the whole episode. Dude was rude, arrogant, ordering fast food even after surgery and refusing to go to therapy. BUT, when he decided to do the work, he did it.
