  • When "The Karate Kid" came out in the summer of 1984, the little movie about rival martial arts students, competing against big-budget blockbusters, became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Ralph Macchio and his co-star William Zabka have since transferred their young rivalry into adulthood, by playing the grown-up Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the series "Cobra Kai," now in its sixth and final season on Netflix. For Macchio it's a return to a character that has both enriched his life and challenged it. Correspondent Lee Cowan reports.

Haven't watched Cobra Kai since season one, but great Ralph got a fresh take on Daniel (on way to the Queen's funeral I saw Martin Kove who plays Kreese eating a sandwich in the Dallas Airport. Gave him a little salute (smaller than expected)). That scene where Daniel looks up at Mr. Miyagi upon getting that vintage car for his bday and says "You're the best friend I ever had" always makes me cry; such a beautiful father-son moment. Martial arts a fun discipline too ( Ralph also good in Crossroads as a Julliard guitar student who goes with an old black harmonica player to get his soul back from the Devil a la the Robert Johnson legend. Recommended)!

We also saw Ralph Macchio on the return of the Karate Kid in Cobra Kai which is going on to its final season in 2 parts. 1 for this summer and the other for this fall. This past week. Ralph made that interview about his childhood days as a first sequel to the film before entering the club. A Martial arts star was like Bruce Lee and Street Fighter followed by David Carridine in a role in movies as well as Chuck Norris, too. He became one of the highest-grossing films of the year He and his co-star William Zabra have since transferred their young rivary into adulthood, by playing the grown-up Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in that 5 season run series now in part 1 its sixth and in part 2 final season on Netflix. For him, he was a character from his Karate Kid sequels. Lee Cowan sat down with the cast and showed their strut to their drama and sacrifice. Ralph Macchio was the kung fu of all of them......

He's always gettin in Johnnys way when Johnny starts to be a better father to Robby, a better sensei and everytime Daniel sees Johnny being with the kids and teaching them something other Myiagi-Do karate, he has some kind of a need and jealousy to always ruin everything for Johnny. And honestly its starts to get annoying that he always think he's on the right side and never be wrong about anything and Myiagi-Do karate is the right choice for the kids. I hope that Johnny and his Eagle Fang/Cobra Kai students wins the sekai taikai and not Daniel
