    Great to see someone actually sailing on an inland waterway.
    I have sailed narrow rivers on cabin cruisers with no engine at all… tacking all the way.
    I live in the UK and aim to start full time cruising.
    I have always been fascinated by the Okeechobee waterway and a friend recently moved to a house in Cape Coral with a dock. Hope to come through from Atlantic side and be able to visit him and use his dock.

      @@BeauAndBrandy the houses by the water looked so cool. Reminded me of a lot of rivers here in the UK.
      Looked scary crossing the lake, it being so shallow.
      My friend in Cape Coral had no idea there even was a canal across Florida until I told him.
      I would love to try and do the loop up the river and canals from New York and across to Chicago and back down the Mississippi to the Gulf… but the boat I plan to get would be too big… and you have to haul out to get round a low bridge (something like that).

    1st off, I Haven't seen ALL the videos previous to this one Yet. But in an earlier video, when there was mention that the induction cook top used SO Much current (electric), I commented about having propane tanks in that HUGE (as Yawl said, several People could fit into) hole where sails are stored, with a portable 2 burner stove OR Grill to use when abundant Cloudy conditions appeared. I just heard about a Back Up generator. You Do KNOW, a Kit can convert a Gasoline engine to run on Propane ALSO (either/or)??? Correct?. NOW You'd have Several Options for cooking, running the electric motor, water maker, (& could buy a $50 table top ICE Maker @ 20+ Lbs. per day), etc. Plus ( I am assuming the generator is Gasoline, since the dingy uses gas & You don't want to have the need for diesel JUST FOR the generator onboard), leaves more "usable" gasoline for the dingy, IF EVER Needed. TRI-Fuel, Solar, Gasoline & Propane. IF anyone watches SV Delos (#3 money making channel on You Tube) when they converted to induction cook top cooking, they noted, it takes 3-4 minutes longer per burner to cook. That's OVER an Hour & a half of "Pleasure" TIME "Wasted" per week in the galley JUST Cooking!!!! Plus, when Ya catch a fish, there is NOTHING Like cooking it on an open flame on a grill!!! Pan cooking FRESH Fish is a JOKE!!!

    I'm getting close to done on an all electric refit on a Manta Catamaran. 3000 watts of solar on my hardtop. I did not think the Okeechobee waterway was possible with a sailboat. What's your air draft?

      @BeauAndBrandy  5 месяцев назад

      oooh nice!! our air draft is 45'. it was a fun experience, hopefully you'll be able to do it. although if it gets much pass february the mosquitos will probably be able to carry you through. they are brutal.

    How low was the clearance on that trip, even the Manual geared windlass on my Beneteau Oceanis 350 1989 it is very reliable. How high is your Mast? With your Antenna, You guys also need a handheld VHF. I do not understand why you cannot Regenerate from your prop when you sail. Our Starlight has a Winged keel draft of only 4’1”. Mast height of 44’ above the Waterline. 100 gallons of water, One of the things I would love too get is a Water Maker. 20 gallons of diesel for our 27 hp Volvo, In 10 years Think I have Burned about 150 gallons total. For the 7200nm, mostly for Recharging and hot water, two boys Wife our Summer home. Want too Sail the Caribbean in our retirement. So want too refit for that. Only have 500 hours on my Volvo she is very Efficient at 1 liter an hour, For the most part Island hopping and lots of anchoring in little gunk holes. With my two boys looking for Black Beards Treasure but made them the Men they are today.. Wish you well God Bless..
