Colorado Dashcam - Winter Driving Boulder Vail Round Trip 12/10/2021

Round trip winter drive from Boulder to Vail Colorado for some skiing. Early morning start is dark, but pretty clear from Boulder to Golden, then the snow picks up in Golden and begins coming down hard on I-70. It's blizzard conditions as the big rigs are taking their time going through the mountains. The plows are out making the roads passable. The afternoon return is more mellow with much better visibility and road conditions. The roads are pretty dry east of the Eisenhower Tunnel and the sky turns blue on the way into Golden and all the way back to Boulder.

Do you notice how hwy93 suddenly becomes much better after you leave Boulder county and enter Jefferson county? I just loved the shot of the moon peeking out from behind Lookout Mtn. Why didn't you take the Clear Creek Canyon route rather than the gas guzzling I70 way? Plus you save about 5 minutes travel time going the shorter picturesque way. (edit: oops, I wrote this before watching all of your video which includes CCC on the return trip.)
