the downfall was Skate game that came out that completely reinvented skateboarding games into a more realistic flip type. When they didn't make that transition and kept it cartoon-y, that's why I switched from playing since the seond THPS game came out
@@OshineTheOranguTANK That's a very good point actually, I personally love the skate series more than thps, probably because of my age but I have come to enjoy both series
Thug 2 is my favorite game, I think it was when the games peaked. American wasteland wasn’t even a bad game but it was clear that the devs were getting burnt out and so were the fans. Everything after was trash and like someone else pointed out with a game like SKATE that added a new perspective to skating games there was no reason to keep buying the new Tony hawks
Great job on the review, an English professor taught me to use other words instead of very for describing things. Try out it may help. If you’re exploring a theme don’t end the sentence with or whatever…. (If you don’t care why mention it) 1:13 Also would’ve like to hear how long this came out after thug 1 which could explain why the game was so short
I think mechanically this is the series at it's peak. Everything controls almost amazingly well and after a while you get use to the style. The story is the weird thing. I still don't know if I liked it or if I thought it was dumb. It's goofy and simple which isn't a bad thing but the pro-skaters feel really out of place. None of them really talk or do anything it's all Bam and Tony (and Phil), Tony feels like he's a little uncomfortable at times but Bam carries it well enough I reckon. It's like the last Tony Hawk game I played to completion and enjoyed, everything after it just didn't feel the same. Just my opinion.
Solid video and a great memory of a game I used to obsess with. One piece of advice (unasked for) I could tell that maybe you were reading from a script and fumbling on the lines. If you were improvising maybe listen to what you said and write it down to make it sound smoother and record again.
I agree with you that Project 8 and Wasteland were the start of the downfall of the series. I actually think THUG2 is top 3 of the entire series. And if anyone disagrees with me, I've got two words for ya: That's fine.

@@Mobolosnacks agreed, AW and p8 to me are just meh, I love proving ground though, not that it's a good game I just really like it
Great video! Don't be afraid to re-record your fumbled lines tho.
