I built an 8" 300 blackout AR on a Sons Of Liberty Gun Works barrel with a BCM upper on a registered SBR lower with this same YHM suppressor, and also have a 16" SOLGW 5.56 East India upper/SOLGW Angry Patriot lower, and it sounds amazing on both. I built a 10.5" 5.56 with a ballistic Advantage barrel, and I'm going to order a YHM muzzle device and see what results I get with that. The only issue I've had it Hornady Sub X 190 grain rounds will nose dive into my feed ramps when feeding from the left side of the magazine with its blunted ballistic tip bullet, but that's not a suppressor issue, anyway, the YHM Resenator R2 has been a great investment.
Try a Sprinco plus power recoil spring… that will give it a little more force to potentially chamber those sub x… just a thought, it helped out a build I had in the past.
Your first impressions mirror mine. I bought mine back in 2020 and it was approved july 2021. Not sure on the round count but I estimate around 5k or so of 5.56, 300 bo, 7.62x39 and 6.5 creedmoor. In my opinion it sounds excellent on 5.56 for being a 30 cal can, it has a nice tone to it. I ran with the factory mounting system for a while and had the same issues you did as well. I ended up going to the keymo system for a couple years which worked fine but made the can almost 8” long. As of now I just run it with direct thread mounts which really shortens up the length. I may go to a plan b type mount in the future. Great video I enjoyed it! Looking forward to seeing more content about this can.
Just built a 9” 300 black, this can is on the way to my local FFL now. Also bought 600 rounds of 220gr subs lol. Glad you like it! I’m excited for mine
I have several YHM cans and use the kurz mounts. There is less play in my setups than what you have here but I haven’t had any issues with POI shift or misalignment for three years so far. Best of luck to you, thanks for sharing.
@@thesoutherndrawBR Do it! I've made the switch too Rearden mounts and haven't looked back. They're also decently inexxpensive and the muzzle device options are endless it seems like.
bought this same can as a designated 300blk pistol build, as of July 24 it cost me $830 including tax stamp from silencer central. excellent can for sure.
Don’t need a channel locks to get one more click. You can use your hands. I’ve got the same suppressor and mount on 9 of my rifles and some I have to do that. Some not. Also have no poi shift.
This can is awesome, I have a bolt action Howa 223, 20 in. barrel, with the R2 on it, 115 db, that's right, I know they say don't use it on LR22, but what the heck, its mine, so, on a M&P 15-22, sounds like a pellet rifle. Awesome Suppressor and same for the R9. Prices did go up cause the word it out that they can stand up against the other brands. Silencer Central has a list of cans that give there decibel rating for .556 & .308 and the YHM R2 is on the top 5 list for those calibers. fyi
I’ve been running a yhm turbo k on 2 different 11.5 builds. Only one of my mounts has any play but hasn’t effected accuracy atleast out to 100 yards.atleast not that I’ve noticed.
What is the difference between individual and trust? I'm in the process of buying my first AR-15(diamondback 5.56 16" bbl) and looking at getting a suppressor but not sure which one to go with i want a good one, but limited on money right now.
Trust allows other people to possess your can and or SBR’s as long as they are on the trust. Individual means only you can be in possession of that item. Trusts are just more paperwork and usually longer approvals. Look at YHM cans. They are a good value.
@@thesoutherndrawBR can you buy a can individual now and do a trust later and add them to the trust? Say if I want to leave my guns and stuff to my son when I die? If so does my tax stamp transfer over to him with the trust or does he have to get his own?
@@southerndad68 if you buy the suppressor as an individual and then wish to add it to a trust, you would have to file a form 4 again and pay another $200 tax stamp. Trusts are not as desirable because now your heir can do a tax free transfer upon the death of the item owner.
Hey, Nice video. I picked one of these up the same time as you because of the great deal silencershop had going, how did you file? Individual or trust?

I will probably end up with a direct thread style mount before it all said and done. The R2 is definitely a chunk but I love its performance!
My R2 stays on a 300 black. It so quiet with 220gr ammo. I love mine. Thanks for the video.

Many thanks from YHM!
We really like the products you guys make! We have several of your cans and are looking to review some more.

I may go with that or the reader atlas system. Both seem solid!

The suppressor doesn’t move the last click, the collar on the muzzle device moves
I wish companies would stop saying " it's normal" when people mention their products shortcomings
I agree. When spending close to $1k I want something that works out of the box.
I use the same can with a Q plan b and cherry bomb mounting system. Cuts weight and mounts great
can confirm on this can that it does it but oddly enough my turbo doesn't do that
Did you have to use a thread adapter for the .556?
I use a flash hider that threads to the barrel then the can threads on the flash hider.
Good stuff. 👍🏻

How good does the turbo k sound on an 11.5”? I’ve been looking at getting some sort of k can.
Got the same can sitting at home, just waiting to get a gun for it
Haven’t had any impact shift with the play
I put the silencer co asr mounts on my r2
They work pretty good?
Does it fit several calibers or just 1 specific caliber
Check YHM website for all compatible calibers for this can.
@thesoutherndraw hey is the mounting system compatible with other mounting HUBS like dead air xeno
It is
But it will void your warranty if you change mounts to something other than yhm

@@thesoutherndrawBR ok thank you for your help and information
I make impacts regularly at 700 plus yards and find the suppressor slightly loose like you describe. No, I'm not in love with that part.
Really torn between this and the Resonator K. Already have the R9.
I went for the best suppression so I got the big boy. I have a K can on my list tho for sure!
Trust or individual?
Need to suppress a 24” 6arc AR
Looking this the Bad Larry and Griffin EXPLORR 300
Any gas in the face?
Thanks for the vid 💙😎

omg RUclips is ridiculous!.. you literally showed everything except the two parts touching...... damn libs!!
Use the wrench the kit comes with...
The wrench is for the suppressor itself. I need to move the collar on the muzzle device.

Individual!
