Really glad you guys are covering LI, I am really excited about the system and want to see my favourite battle report team cover it. Hope you guys you enjoyed it!
Rhinos would help marines a lot. Also get some space marine flyers if you can, they look pretty strong. Good flyers and flyers delivering infantry seems to be the strength of the legions vs all the Solar Auxilia's TANKS@@lukapavicevic335
Keep in mind the Solar Aux army rule: Close Formation Fighting, which gives them +1 CAF when they are base to base with another Solar Aux Infantry. There would have been a lot of bonuses in those combats.
Splendid terrain! It evokes vibes of a cold war soviet city with all of the depressing grey going on. This leads to my single point of criticism: If you have a grey city it doesn´t look good to have also two grey armies battling in it. It might work for a larger scale but for Epic you can´t distinguish what´s going on as a viewer once melee starts to happen. Suggestion for future battle reports: You wanted to show off how structures work and to give the infantry an incentive to actually go inside one of them it would make sense to place ALL objectives inside buildings as exterior sites such as hot dog stands, kiosks and telephone booths rarely contain objects of strategic or material value. Go inside of structures and you will find: - Secret plans inside safes. - Valuable art collections. - Gold stored away in banks. - etc. That´s how Dropzone Commander handles objectives and it is by far the more sensible route.
The Melta blastgun on the Kratos is meant to be fired at a garrisoned building with its bunker buster rules getting -8 AP against buildings and against knights/titans/vehicles using armourbane for forced rerolling on saved rolls. Of the eight I bought so far I built 3 with Melta and 5 Battlecannon. Think eventually I’ll double both numbers.
amazing to see MWG doing epic! please do more. also at this scale maybe use more wider shots? so the grandness of the scale is easier to follow. Keep them coming!
After watching this I am even more interested, it's like a bigger scale at a smaller scale. Feel like it represents war on a larger scale than 40k where you can really field armies and still play through the game relatively quickly. Also the terrain is epic, great job guys
i seem to be in the minority so far, but i'm in the do not show all movement camp. I would only show the overwatch type stuff from point defense, and any charges with a brief explanation on what happened. I can see the desire to show movement with the alternate activations moving a unit can throw the plans of the opponent off. glad to see Imperialis being played and Skari bringing aircraft. I was thinking of doing Auxilia just to use a flight of marauders and tanks. The whole command thing and weakness of basic human troopers seems to be a decent sized downside.
Regularly in 40k I like your recaps of movement over watching it step by step. But for this game version it’s the opposite, alternating activations etc. makes it more of an engaging phase and I like d seeing y’all react to what your opponent did.
I have already agreed with my group that we are not doing wysiwyg on tank models. Build them to look cool and they make they have all tge same guns, but tell the opponet
This is wonderful as I just started getting into this game and it's like you guys are reading our minds on what we need / want for gaming content. (Ahhhh, get out. lol). Please keep making these videos.
I like watching you learn the game as you go. I also am not too phukked by you not having fully legitimate armies. I would actually like to see a Titanicus-style-battle using these rules.
If you cant do it all (I realise it would annoy some people) perhaps break it up into two or three summaries rather than one big one at the end? Pause at overwatch or shooting point defence weapons in the movement phase, or after 4-5 units moved?@@SkaredCast
Really fun game but it's coming across a bit dark, I don't know if it's just how dark you've painted the terrain though? Get a big bright light on it next time :)
There are no Land Raiders yet..... Coming soon, in the first supplement most likely. The shorter weapon ranges are mostly a staple of Epic. Longer ranges make guns too effective and turn the game into a static line defence. Shorter weapon ranges and faster movement rewards more dynamic tactics and keeps the game fluid and interesting.
Love the Legio Imperalis content! I think this is gonna be one of the big favorites for me. Also I prefer showing the before and after for movements in games, the movement phase although important in most tabletop games is super boring for me.
I am incredibly glad GW is making Epic scale warhammer again. At this rate, I think I still prefer the fan made Epic 30k rules (basically altered Epic Armageddon rules for the Horus Heresy), but at the very least having these models in production is amazing. Really hope this stays in production for a while.
Ogryns / Veltaris don't need to be given an advance order for being out of Command range - they don't have Chain of Command, crippling to them if it gets added on by mistake! Between this and missing out Rend on their melee attacks, Solar melee boys really didn't get to shine like they're able to, with those and the Close Order bonus they're actually really nasty.
I feel Luka wouldn't be above filming battle reports in just swimgear, just imagine the reactions on the guests if one of you guys are barely clothed (and really content) with no explanation EDIT: man realised this comment won't make any sense for those who didn't finnish the vid
It's one starter box that's split, plus one of each infantry box, one box of Baneblades and one box of Kratos. Plus the fliers and the Warbringer. The box has two Warhounds, but the Warhound used in the game is armed with different weapons than the ones included in the starter.
Interesting to see LI played. Seems like it has a bit of a board game feel with how quickly things die and there are not hit and wound rolls. I think it would help if each army had a different color scheme on their bases (dirt, stone, martian red, etc.) so that it's a little easier to see what's going on in combat.
I love the idea my only nitpick is that we arent going to see things like ork waaghs or the classic imperial guard regiments becouse it is horus heresy I dont care about marines give me steel legion against ghazghkull thraka waagh
It's a shame that the fire fights and the cross fire rules didn't make it from Epic into this game. They added so much in terms of strategy and thinking what you do.
Crossfire certainly could have made it in. Although with models having arcs and a save penalty if you are shot from your rear arc its mostly there in effect.
@@editor2766 Thanks for clarifying this. I missed it indeed. I guess the bigger effect is that vehicles don't tripple their movement when marching, which makes it much harder to encircle the opponent and leads to Napoleonic style battles instead of the more dynamic ones we had in Epic. Let's see how this evolves.
@mikewhitley6055 where does it say you can take it in addition? Just having additional save characteristic doesn't allow you to use both. Note how both cover and invulnerable says gain additional save yet rules use those as example of one or other. There's NOTHING in jink rule that differs from invulnerable save except can't get it while 1st fire
I'm faaaaar too late to vote, but cut down movement phases (including choices made please!), and showing the results of each attack, without showing every single roll is by far the best way of doing battle reports in my opinion. :) Showing rolls can be saved for key moments!
I love that this game is virtually Epic Space Marine. I was a big fan until Epic 40,000 blew it. Im seriously tempted to get back into Epic even if they aren't calling it that. In regards to your battle report format, you are both hugely engaging and likeable presenters, but the "thinking aloud" style is very slow. I struggle with 90+ minute bat reps. I know you guys are immensely popular with your format, but 40 - 60 mins is more my taste. A narrative of the turn and then you two sharing your thoughts would speed things up. I do respect that some people just put long bat reps on as they paint, so i guess variety is the spice of life.
Epic 40k didn't blow it. Smooth brain "fans" like yourself helped to kill Epic back in the day. It's a miracle GW is trying to bring back the system. Maybe they forgot how toxic you lot were.
@@TetsugakuSan Well technically not, but still its absurd that mostly baselinehumans are better in closecombat than SPACEWOLFS! Although Luka said that he played without SW rules.
The game should not be wysiwyg. Maybe the titans but given that the weapons are not balanced and sold separately at like 30 dollars each I say not for those either.
Would those Xenos 40K players open their wallets for a tiny version of their armies en masse? It´s highly likely they won´t that´s why GW is playing it safe by keeping it in 30K.
Don;t want tiny 40K. I want a well balanced game with 3-4 sides and a lot of units. There are SO MANY available units and upcoming ones, it’s bigger than any 5-6 40 k sides combined
Seeing the models move feels real important due to interupts
Absolutely! We didn't play with too much of that in the first game, the second one covered those mechanics much more!
More Legions Imperialis please! Awesome battle report.
rules note: ogryns dont have the chain of command rule so can always use any order.
*Furious page flipping action* ...Well slap my vambrace and call me a heretic. He's right
Came here to say this
probably a very good thing. without command they are essentially useless since they need to charge to do anything.
Good to know!!
skari's veletari and ogryns should have been rolling 3d6 in combat as they have rend on their weapon
We noticed this afterwards!! Luckily we got to vindicate ourselves in the 2nd game 😂
Furthermore the Ogryn have Furious Charge and would have +2 CAF on the charge instead of the normal +1.@@lukapavicevic335
More of this please!
I love how killy the game is. Really paints the scale of full on slaughter on a massive battlefield
Yeah! I LOVED the melee rules myself. Really felt pretty good, and brutal.
Really glad you guys are covering LI, I am really excited about the system and want to see my favourite battle report team cover it. Hope you guys you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to playing more of it too! JUST NEED MORE LITTLE GUYS.

Yes I was going to mention that too.
More Skari versus Luka AND a new epic-scale game? Wohoo!
Glad you guys have done a battle report for LI. Other ones I have watched do not have the production value you do and are hard to watch!
Excited to play more!
Love to see you guys playing this game! It’s by far my new favorite
This is awesome. I hope you guys do a ton of battle reports
We will be growing the collections , but for sure !

Disregard of the 30% allies is morally correct. It exists purely to force you into their deflated points for non titans. Great video too!
You did falling back wrong, you move the detachment and then roll a morale check
Ah cool 😅
Seeing the poor Veletaris and Ogryns not using the rend rule.. (they should have been rolling 3 dice per combat). They are space marine can openers
Yeah, my bad lol 😅

What are the tiles used for the board? They look great
yeaaaa, the stormers for solar aux have Rend, which allows them to roll 3d6 in combat
I did notice the Ogryn one half way through, but the little axe dudes have it too!
yeah they are very strong in close combat! @@SkaredCast
Best part about the Space Wolves for this demo setup, would not have changed a thing here :D
I like how you start by apologizing that it's "All you had" - 1.5k points still puts a looooooot of models on the table.
If he had not brough in the Titan he would not have even had 1500 points is what he was saying.
It can be surprising what you can field at even 1k in LI.
a normal game is supposed to be 3k i believe.
It recommends playing 3k point games!!!! 😂
I like watching you learn the game as you go. I also am not too phukked by you not having fully legitimate armies. I would actually like to see a Titanicus-style-battle using these rules.
Still waiting for our LI stuff to show up, fingers crossed for today, but I'm just excited to watch some get played!
I enjoyed watching this battle report. Now I wonder how epic a 2 vs 2 in full 3000 points armies would look like (12k points on table)
I enjoy watching the movement phase.
There must be a way to streamline it ,

How did you field this ? I’m new what kits did you have to have? Example two starter boxes mayby plus ?

Look at Scari useing the tactics of rolling good dice
more legions bat reps would b great
