It's not that hard to re-create any sound through software. You have a fuckton of "showcases" from basically everything you may think of, you can simply make a sound based in videos or other examples. ... Or you can actually record the noise IRL. All you'll need is money, and I honestly doubt that was a problem for R*. The sound of the rockets and missiles in the game are somewhat simillar to compressed air having a pressure leak, they may've gone creative recording the sound, or simply made it virtually lol
For all who confused with submarines names. Akula is Russian name for Project 941, Typhoon is NATO name for Pr. 941 (Ramius). However, there is another Russian sub which is called Akula in NATO classification (Project 971) and It often confuses people. Btw, Akula means Shark in Russian

The Ramius is based off of the Typhoon class SSBN and it's name is a reference to Captain Marko Ramius, the fictional captain of the fictional Typhoon class submarine Red October from the Tom Clancy book "The Hunt for Red October". The Kosatka is based on the Russian Delta series of submarines, I believe either the Delta III or Delta IV. The name as far as I can tell is the name of a village in Poland. I'm not sure if it's a reference to anything else.
In Online, it's possible to spawn on top of the Tataviam Mountains by getting kicked from a Cayo Perico heist. Also, when you set your spawn to be at your Kosatka, your personal vehicle would spawn on the Vinewood Racetrack.
Kinda sad to see all of the brain dead comments of people either 1:not knowing two sub existed 2:not knowing what a sub is 3:thinking GTA created these subs and aren’t parodies of IRL Russian subs
The top and bottom rudder actually don't steer the Kosatka at all. It's the propellers, that steer the boat. While you turn (even in place, no forward, no reverse), one propeller moves, while the other is still. The rudders don't do a thing. That's why they turn in the opposite direction while turning in reverse.
i found a few glitches: first is if the owner of the kosatka enters the sparrow whilst inside the kosatka and then another person starts to get in, if the owner hits *control to exit* right as the second player is about to enter the sparrow then it will put second player under the map near the interior, also the interior shifts based on where the exterior is and what else is on the map, also when doing safe code setup if you kill-yourself right after collecting the code, the game will spawn you inside the lobby of the casino but the mission will be over so said player will be free to explore the casino and there may be many more sub-glitches with this one
You can actually see player models in the driving seat using thermal sight. Additionally, when messing around with friends somehow we got an NPC to sit in the driving seat and his head was sticking out. Not sure how we managed that, activating autopilot maybe? Idk.
at 2:16 I believe those multiple intakes and things are modeled after the feedwater intakes for the submarine's nuclear reactor, since it would need to have a constantly pressurized system for cooling and steam. (this is also the reason that IRL nuclear submarines cannot sit at the bottom of the ocean, they would suck all the dirt from the floor up) I really wish we got the Ramius as a playable vehicle, I could live my red october fantasies.

@@foremostturnip9252 guy I’m in acu I’m a fucking janitor until further notice. I’m waiting to go to sonar a school. ACU awaiting class up aka advanced cleaning unit
Being 100% accurate would most likely cost them licenses and they would also need to pay to take a look at the sub and make it exactly the same so... no.
@@Stubbies2003 facts but they do need to get out of the grave they dug them selfs into
I'm subscribing, this was really good.
Welcome aboard!
The Ramius is based off the Typhoon class Nuclear Ballistic Missile submarine. Also designated Akula. The name Ramius is a reference to Captain Marko Ramius from The Hunt For Red October, also featuring a Typhoon class sub.
The Kasatka is based off the successor to the Typhoon, a Borei class Ballistic Missile Sub and has design cues from submarine takes design cues from the Kelmar and Delfin Delta class submarines.
Well the Borei isn't a predecessor to the Typhoon. The Typhoon was built in the 80s. The Borei in the 90s. The Kosatka clearly has Delta DNA. Not so much of the Borei.
@@Stubbies2003 sorry. Successor. Stupid phone. Lol
I'll take the Ramius for a 50% lower price because if how short it is and that it has fewer missiles. Besides, I like the look of it :)
I'm not trying to be a military nitpicker but, that's innacurate as fuck, it should be the other way around
@@Vchk1917 yep, Typhoons were huge. Double hulled and meant to break through thick arctic ice to launch missiles since they realized their boomers were too easily tracked in open ocean.
Ah yes, double *salvation*
Captain Torres: don’t you see 1 million 1 million life’s HAHA static
Wish to see here more likes, so more people gets confused
these forward facing vents near the rear of the Kosatka is where water is sucked in to fill the ballast tanks in order to dive.
Those additions to the lower hull of Ramius is a caterpillar drive
Not gonna lie, I thought that they just reused the doomsday heist submarine for Cayo Perico
Well, they basically did. Atleast for the interior. Most of the interior matches up almost perfectly with the one from Bogdan.
@@DatBlueVQ odd that the interior matches neither exterior, especially odd since the interior was developed specifically for the Ramius
Well I thought so to because you rockstar is well rockstar
Fun Fact: Both subs are modeled after Russian Nuclear Subs. The Kasatka is a Delta IV Class Nuclear Submarine, and the Rammus is a Typhoon Class Nuclear Submarine
I'm glad you're getting more attention for underrated channel with these hardworks.
Investigating everything in the games.
Too bad YT can be such B when they put hardwork qualities at the bottom (like for example my GTA 5 vs WD2, full comparison between both).
2:18 are underwater thrusters to help steering
I think according to the Wiki they're called ballast tubes.
@@Lofarzel31 well considering it’s a large submarine it would be double hull meaning that the ballast would be in the walls
@@Lofarzel31 that’s how it’s real life variant and most of not all large armed submarines are
Bro ramius sucks, it doesn’t include a pavel
I’ve always wondered how R* made those damn rocket sounds.
I wonder how they make all the sounds
@@Karzipp Well I thought maybe they record them from real guns but if that was true, how the hell did they record a rocket sound.
@@stinglikeab8801 from a rocket launcher? Dumbass. There's tons of videos online with ballistic missile launches too
@@Max200012 it’s rare that you can actually record with those, if at all.
Thank you I've been waiting for a video of this! 👍👍👏👏
For all who confused with submarines names. Akula is Russian name for Project 941, Typhoon is NATO name for Pr. 941 (Ramius). However, there is another Russian sub which is called Akula in NATO classification (Project 971) and It often confuses people. Btw, Akula means Shark in Russian
imagine if they let us put navy flags on our subs and boats
Or giving them name aswell
Dude, rockstar cares only about the money. “Fuck these details” is their goal.
Of course they only care about money, they're a company
Fun fact : periscope only available if submarine resurface. Despite the original purpose is to observe while remains underwater.
Rockstar had one job and didn’t even do it right.
You showed part of the kosatka I didn't even know was there and I had it since the start
(Security room)
Bogdan sub seems much better they should have added it
it's newer and nuclear powered
the Kosatka is black market stolen Diesel sub
It looks terrifying
Long Sub V.s THICC Sub.
The propeller shrouds stop bubbles from forming at the tips. This stops cavitation to a degree making less noise overall
Thank you for showing and in depth comparison, much appreciated 🙏
They should add more details to the kosatka
and make the Ramius drivable
@@whatever57010 that would be awesome too
They put no effort in the sub. Change my mind
lets see you do it?"no effort" make it better then?
@@mathieumansire372 I can’t make 3D models. But what I mean is, if I actually knew what to do, and would use it I would. They copied the og submarine inside changed it up a lil bit and said, BOOM new
For anyone interested, these are both based on real classes of Soviet Ballistic Missile submarines.
Kosatka is a variantion of sharks, (касатка)
@@jeenearall4134 Thank you!

Good content my guy
I've always wondered about that weird blue backdrop when exiting in the Sparrow....now I know
Sometimes you gotta like your own comment to get it going
It’s three in the morning and I get this in my recommended knowing nothing about this person but here I am comparing some submarines
I’ve never seen the kosatka fire missiles before but the animation looks awsome
You can actually see player models in the driving seat using thermal sight. Additionally, when messing around with friends somehow we got an NPC to sit in the driving seat and his head was sticking out. Not sure how we managed that, activating autopilot maybe? Idk.
Experienced that with my friends alot too.
1:22 when you spray the water hose on a plastic bag or ground
Finally someone did the comparison of the two I been waiting
Historical fact:
The "lump" in the back is where the ICBMs are located, in the Typhoon (Bogdan) the ICBMs are located in front of the sail to the nose
Actually the "bridge" is called the conning tower.
Edit: I mean the tower on top ofc, the later mention of the bridge is correct
Fun fact: The Ramius is actually the Merryweather Test Site Submarine during the Kosatka approach vehicle setup!
It is.
at 2:16 I believe those multiple intakes and things are modeled after the feedwater intakes for the submarine's nuclear reactor, since it would need to have a constantly pressurized system for cooling and steam. (this is also the reason that IRL nuclear submarines cannot sit at the bottom of the ocean, they would suck all the dirt from the floor up)
I really wish we got the Ramius as a playable vehicle, I could live my red october fantasies.
Plot twist: Pavel has been prank calling the Ramius sub by locking missiles and torpedos at them without firing them
Fun fact about the driver position on the Kosatka you could see the other player driving if you had thermal vision on...not sure if that is still the case but it was working when we had snow in GTA Online last Christmas
Holy sh*t Mervinnx helped?! awesome!! :D Gintoki aka *_Green Bike guy_* here btw xD
The name of the submarine (Ramius) is a referance at the movie Red October the captain of the soviet submarine is name is Capt Ramius
