Scuba diver here, I believe the “strange structure” is a decompression tank for divers, specifically super crazy depths for repairs, welding, etc. On normal dives ascending too fast can give you the bends where you get bubbles in your blood (75+ ft), When at 200-400 ft they have to stay underwater at that pressure for a few hours in that tank so they don’t get the bends

Just that all the ship wrecks have tons of weapons and hidden money packages up to 25.000$ a piece on them. If you explore them with scuba gear, you upgrade lung capacity, stamina and find tons of free guns and you can save and reload to make millions as every character 😂❤

The strange structure @ 5:00 is somewhat unique in that you can swim inside of it. One of the safest places in the entirety of gta online, if you have scuba gear.
The nuclear submarine at 6:31 is definitely the Akula submarine irl. And for those people who think it's a Ramius, well the Ramius is based off the Typhoon in real life, which has a wider hull than both the Akula and Delta (Kosatka ingame) compared.
it looks like 1970's submarines like one I found, the K-429, but doesnt have missile doors in the rear. and the damage looks like a torpedo explosion from inside the hull, much like that of the Kursk which sank in 2000 and did have missile hatches aft of the sail. I would say it's a mix of 70's soviet submarines and referencing the kursk wreckage
Would definitely not be WW2 era either....seriously how could that have even been mentioned since there were definitely no nuclear subs in the 1930's and 40's....I want to add as well the last ship shown....thats not a tank part...it looks more like a mast. The twin decks on the stern make it resemble a british "ship of the line" style vessel not something that would have carried a tank
@@fatkidgames4381 nah that is a tank part, more precisely a t-34-85 turret. You can see the tsame tank wreck in one of the junkyards near the place where franklin lamar and stretch deals-gone-wrong mission
5:23 - Could be a diving chamber for saturation divers working on the site. Instead of surfacing after each shift and risking "The bends" divers instead stay in these pressurized capsules. (check out *The Byford Dolphin accident* for what happens if things go wrong when you're in one of these things. It's not pretty)
Holy shit, a man got blown through a cracked metal door and sections of his body were just sheered off while the rest of him was jammed through the slot all in a split second, and his blood was boiling to steam and his guts and spine were shot 30 feet away.
4:23 That's a Soviet made tank turret which has an 85 mm cannon. It was used in WWII on the T-34 and KV-1 chassis'. You can find a whole T-34-85 (T-34 hull with this turret) at the scrap yard near the Maze Bank arena. What's also interesting, is that in the waters surrounding the Cayo Perico island featuerd in the same game (and also around the Humane Labs), you can find a shipwreck with German WWII era Panzer II tank wrecks. There seems to be a lot of WWII era military equipment on and around the islands which seems to point to the islands being a point of interest for both the allied and axis forces in WWII.
1:20 In Doomsday you need to go and scan this wreckage, bc its a goverment spy plane, which they lost recently. 3:20 I belive they're from hangar missions, where you have to steal cargo from sunken tug boat. Additionaly, there also should be sunked shamals form the casion prep, but idk if they're visible outside mission.
Something I find interesting is how the plane wrecks are treated in game compared to real life. While most smaller craft will generally be left underwater, airliners are almost always brought back up and “reconstructed” in a hangar for investigative purposes
6:45 this has actually been done in real life using obsolete or beyond repair military tanks for the sake of creating anchor points for choral to grow on. They remove the mechanical gear and toxic fluids like oil and just dump the tank bodies in the ocean. Works better than tires.
@@Where_is_Waldo yeah perhaps It wasn't actually just blown up, rather just sunken. Not sure why I said so. BTW, what I have in mind is propably U.S.S. Oriskany: fi.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Oriskany_(CV-34)
@@yobellopez5495 Ok, uh... why WOULD people dump things like this in the ocean after removing toxic fluids and such if not for this purpose? It sounds like you're trying to make a point but I have no idea what that point is.
I like how they really play into the real life elements like our own oceans containing many ship and plane crashes as well as other unknown objects, stories, etc.
The thing underwater that you think looks like an oil rig is probably based on a hyperbaric chamber, which is a small living quarters that sits on the ocean floor so divers can stay underwater for long periods of time to weld and maintain deep sea pipelines, they stay underwater for extended periods of time to avoid decompression stops
I have a somewhat realistic theory about the Fly US 747. It could have been a plane purposely dropped into the water. Sometimes old planes (like the Boeing 747) are dropped in water purposefully to build environments for marine life. Explaining why no one talks about it as it was just a minor project off the coast of Paleto Bay. Edit: The reason why it got broken up so much probably could have been because the “sinking” was poorly executed causing it to break apart while they were sinking it,
@@chad0170 Nope. Most of these sorts of things are just decorations the map designers put in for their own creative satisfaction. Some of them are references to in game events or lore, and others are just what the designers thought looked nice.

GTAV and RDR2 have always been ripe for single player expansions - think Ballad of Gay Tony, The Lost and Damned and Undead Nightmare. It’s such a shame these amazing worlds and stories - which took years and years to craft - are just abandoned for online. R* and TakeTwo (primarily TakeTwo in my opinion, which is why one of the Houser brothers and Benzies left) could have made several top quality, single player expansions for these worlds and characters but abandoned them in favour of insatiable greed. I understand them working hard for the online aspect - they’re a business and that’s where the money is - yet they abandoned the fans who enjoy the single player, story driven aspect of R* games - an aspect that actually built their company and fan base. Sometimes I just drive slow, talk to people, and enjoy the scenery when playing. It's absolutely an amazing piece of digital art. The one thing I wish was improved was vehicle damage physics. I agree with you, though the make of the submarine seems to be based on the Akula, not the Oscar. But yeah I guess they're just referencing the K141 disaster
I just want to say that the little in-games scenes you made are really cute. Adds a lot of flavour to the video. It also kind of want to make me mess around with the Rockstar Editor again.
the plane crash at 3:00 really creeps me out because the water in the alamo sea is so murky the plane slowly comes into view the deeper you go and the creaking sounds the plane makes are scary to me

But it felt like we were bringing those 8 guys home finally eventho7gh you can't move their bodies
I remember my amazement when I saw water in the lake accelerating when approaching waterfall. Water physics in this game were ahead of its time. Even today most games don't have this effect.
I had no idea about the tyre graveyard! Or rather, I knew it was a thing in real life, but had no idea it's in the game too! This is by far the best video I've seen about these underwater secrets. Well made, mentions everything important, doesn't forget anything and doesn't waste time with insane speculations, trying to push the video to like 20 minutes long. Well done!
That oil rig looking thing could be an underwater welding/ maintenance place where there’s a pressurized container with air the divers go into so they can stay underwater for days at a time without resurfacing. It looks far different from the ones irl but just a thought
I still play this game today. I love to drive all over an explore the different towns and people that live there and the sites and scenery. I pretty much just free roam in the game and not even complete any missions. I can literally play for hours just messing with people and exploring.
Absolutely incredible, the amount of extra details that Rockstar included in this game. No wonder at all that it’s been 10+ years going!! I’ve been a few months away from GTA but I still love the game every bit as much
Through my playthroughs of GTA V I have discovered all of these, except from the tires. That was cool to think that even after the many hours I spent scuba diving, there is still things that I missed.
I thought the "strange structure" at 5:05 was related to the submarine side missions from the single player campaign. Been a while since I did all that though so I may be misremembering.
I haven't played GTA V in a long time but finding and exploring these wrecks was one of my favorite parts of the game ever since I first found the Paleto Bay Plane Wreck at 1:19 on my very first night playing! It blew me away how much hidden details there were and I found it fascinating to explore all the wrecks as that's something I enjoy doing in the real world too. I found pretty much everything on this video except for the tire graveyard, never knew about that.
The paddle steamer talked about at 4:37 and onwards is probably a reference to the coastal paddle steamer SS Winfield Scott which sank near the Californian Channel Islands in 1853. Ocean Liners had paddle wheels until about the late 1860s (some had propellers before then, either by itself (which was rare) or in addition to the paddle wheels), which would explain the size. Especially when comparing to the river steamers you showed in the video
Nice video! I just wanted to add that for the second plane wreck (the one in paleto bay), Avon hertz tells you "we have lost a spy plane here recently" during the stromberg prep mission for act 2 of the doomsday heist. You also have to scan said wreckage with the Strombergs during the same mission.
1:20 The plane off the coast of Paleto Bay is explained by Avon or Agent 14 (I don't remember quitr well) during the scan mission before the Bodgan Heist. And it was supposed to be a spy plane (I think).
4:42 My theory for the paddle steamer is that the game is implying that the coast where it’s located could actually be where a river would be if Rockstar wasn’t still doing the whole island method for their maps.
Thank you so much for bringing light to such a cool and underappreciated part of the game! I knew about most of this because I had done the sub missions from buying the pier, but many people never get to see or appreciate all these things.
I have seen most of these underwater phenomenas. If you dive down off the coast of Cayo Perico in the middle of the large bay below the airfield, there is a wreck of; what looks like, a first world war cargo ship. Scattered around it are the remains of tanks, apc's and field vehicles: jeeps, trucks etc. It's definitely worth a look at, but its quite deep so you'll need full scuba gear to stay down there for any length of time. Check it out.
The paleto bay airliner at 1:24 is actually referenced in the doomsday heist act 2 during the stromberg setup and is part of the mission since there are 2 teams during this setup, team 1 who scans the sub and team 2 who scans the plane wreckage
You do realize that single player releases before doomsday right? Even as a reference it won't work, it's like a reference to something they yet to add 3 years later These wreck are always there, from day one
6:33 They didn't use nuclear submarines in WW2. The submarines used then were mostly U-boats, and they were used in WW1 as well. The first nuclear submarine's construction began in 1951, 6 years after WW2.
Yup...while playing story-mode (not necessarily during specific missions), you can obtain lots of goodies when exploring underwater. Several of the locales featured here contain several different weapons such as sticky bombs, grenades, sniper rifle, grenade launcher, assault rifles, and shotgun, as Wella as body armor. There are also the money briefcases that are obtainable multiple times (via quick-save,and then exiting the game and reloading your quick-save.) I don't know if that works with the 4 briefcases you collect after the Altruist Shootout while playing as Trevor, but all of the other briefcases can be collected over and over again. I did notice that the weapon pickups are slightly different between the PS3 and PS4 versions...on the PS3, there is a plane crash just to the E/NE of the docks where there is a grenade launcher, but on the PS4 it isn't there. The railgun can be acquired after completing the main story mission "Minor Turbulence".
you can’t save until you leave the altruist camp after the shootout so i dont think you can take advantage of it. when you leave is also when that weird crate despawns.
I always wondered why there were so many WWII tanks in GTA. In 4:24 you can see there's a soviet WWII tank and 6:59 a German one as well. If I do remember correctly there's also an American Sherman tank in a junk yard in GTA. Kind of odd, possible unused models for GTA or a separate game that never got released maybe.
Another very well made video about some of the great details of GTA V, it's crazy how much stuff there is underwater, as well as all the collectibles that can be found as part of the 100% completion of GTA V itself at that, so whilst I knew of a lot or most of these already, I can still appreciate the time spent making this video and giving explainations/references to everything showcased!😁👍👏
the submarine and cargo ship that were found in shallow waters were likely run aground during high tides; times when the water level was a good bit higher and the ships were poorly navigated, causing them to steer into deceptively shallow water, which essentially trapped them.
This was a really cool video to see all of the stuff going on in the sea it’s really under appreciated and underused in my opinion, however, I think you missed something. When doing missions I’ve come across a skeleton similar to the whale one but with front arms, big shoulder blade looking parts and possibly back legs and it seemed about two to three times the length of a hydra plane. It’s quite cool and maybe interesting to think about the backstory behind it. It was out in the ocean and would need some digging around to find the exact location in my clips but if you’d like to I can definitely send the clip over or try and find exactly where it is if you’d like!
I remember once I was playing director mode and i turned on invincibility, stole a jet, and flew far out and crash the jet into the ocean and since i couldn't drown i just sunk down in the cockpit of a broken down Lazer jet and for some reason I couldn't explain I almost had a panic attack, just watching the light at the top slowly disappear and the feeling of being alone
thank you so much for making this video! i've always wanted to know what rockstar put in the game underwater but never had the commitment to scavenge all of it 😭
You can find one of the Epsilon Tracts in the wreckage for the Steamboat And honestly I could've sworn there was more hidden underwater, maybe you missed a couple things or I'm just miss remembering Either way this was a great video

6:33 That sub does not bear any similarities to any submarine used during WWII. And the first nuclear sub was launched in 1952, 7 years after WWII ended.
6:28 might be a reference to the Kursk submarine disaster. The submarine does not resemble the Kursk itself. But it seems that it sank in a similar way as the Kursk.

The nuclear submarine at 6:31 is definitely the Akula submarine irl. And for those people who think it's a Ramius, well the Ramius is based off the Typhoon in real life, which has a wider hull than both the Akula and Delta (Kosatka ingame) compared.
no the fin is too square if you look at the akula submarine the fin is very streamline and smooth it must be another or just made up
The Submarine would make sense as a Charlie class 1960s-1970s era Soviet Submarine as the Submarine seen in the game is quite old.
it looks like 1970's submarines like one I found, the K-429, but doesnt have missile doors in the rear. and the damage looks like a torpedo explosion from inside the hull, much like that of the Kursk which sank in 2000 and did have missile hatches aft of the sail.

R* and TakeTwo (primarily TakeTwo in my opinion, which is why one of the Houser brothers and Benzies left) could have made several top quality, single player expansions for these worlds and characters but abandoned them in favour of insatiable greed.

The railgun can be acquired after completing the main story mission "Minor Turbulence".
you can’t save until you leave the altruist camp after the shootout so i dont think you can take advantage of it. when you leave is also when that weird crate despawns.

the submarine and cargo ship that were found in shallow waters were likely run aground during high tides; times when the water level was a good bit higher and the ships were poorly navigated, causing them to steer into deceptively shallow water, which essentially trapped them.

And honestly I could've sworn there was more hidden underwater, maybe you missed a couple things or I'm just miss remembering
Either way this was a great video
I remember there was a statute or a body having got cemented foots in the ocean
1:47 looks like a good cod map lol
Wasn't there a map like that on MW2?
@@simple__sigma3287 yeah, scrapyard looks sort of similar.
Scrapyard fr 😂
5:13 for people that have just started playing GTA or have like no money there’s a suitcase there is $25,000 that you can claim
6:59 no it is not a Leopard 2a4, it’s the South African TTD (Tank Technology Demonstration). The other tank is a Panzer II.
If someone complains about the Rhino not being a Leopard 2a4 I can and will give enough reasons why it is NOT a Leopard 2a4.
Don't think they will. It's a bit geeky lol.
@@kayla-Rey22 I have had a whole argument with someone on yt about it
@@lucse_mensen : Yeah, I'm only joking. I do know that some guys are into all that military stuff. But I'm a girl. I can't tell a tank from a trash truck lol.
@@kayla-Rey22 it doesn’t matter if you are a girl or not. Almost boys can’t tell the difference between a Russian and American/German tank
@@lucse_mensen : Other countries have tanks as well? Wow!
He’s back
I love how you say 'world' XD 'Wiwd' So cute XD
7:00 the Panzer 2, to be exact, as the word “Panzer” is the German for “tank” or “armor”, and the Germans made much of these, starting from the Stürmpanzerwagen A7V to the iconic Panzer VI Tiger to the modern Panzerkampfwagen Leopard 2, aka the Rhino, like he said
4:25 thats the turret of the WW2 Soviet T34/85, as seen by the turret shape and gun barrel(although there was a Czechoslovakian T34/100 with the same turret but a larger caliber gun)
The Crop Duster that sprays is from the trailer for GTAV. I guess rockstar felt it was better in the sea
no, its literally the crop duster trevor used in 'Minor Turbulence', same location that trevor flies it into the plane
@@ghinspilzu8546 what about the wings
@@ghinspilzu8546 it's not, it's it's spy plane
@@kade8272 wdym, the wings broke off when trevor flew it into the the plane
@@ToxicSnake48 never knew a crop duster was a spy plane...
Cool to mention the American Queen steam boat. I live near Mississippi River and have seen it in person quite a few times (docked at my local town)
6:33 That sub does not bear any similarities to any submarine used during WWII. And the first nuclear sub was launched in 1952, 7 years after WWII ended.
You are correct. And that sub is (the submarine on the image if I'm not mistaken) a Papa class SSGN. One of it's kind, fastest submarine in the world.
It looks kinda like the Kotsuka.
6:28 might be a reference to the Kursk submarine disaster. The submarine does not resemble the Kursk itself. But it seems that it sank in a similar way as the Kursk.
