That’s one the local tracks here in my area. Honestly tracks are always dry. Not much fun when it’s dusty and hard. I always drive either to the west direction for better soil. Over here is just clay dirt.
Hey I just started riding on a 2004 kx 125 this summer and started jumping like a month or two and I can’t seem too keep my feet on the pegs when jumping any tips I’m 17 and this is my first bike and I really wanna be good at this sport ps love the vids learn a lot from you

What is a go to bike for fun, for guys like you? Like not worrying about laptimes or practice, or sponsors. Strictly fun factor, and your paying for it, and maintaining it. When the time comes for you guys to buy your own bike what do you tend to gravitate towards?
I think a 450 still. Easy to ride for me. Easy to maintain. Can get about 60 hours before top end change. Two strokes can be fun, but a lot of effort to rides sometimes and would be more expensive to maintain, because I would need to do top end every 8-10 hours on a 125. A 350 is a really fun bike. The Alta was most fun bike I’ve ever ridden and requires zero maintenance other than charging it.
Someone once told me that a 125 is the best bike to learn the fundamentals of riding on. I'm not really sure why but that's what I've heard. I had a 450, it was a great bike, but I never really learned how to ride it properly. If I get another bike, it'll definitely be a 125.
I notice almost every time you jump without being on the throttle off the lip. That doesn't shift all your weight to the front and send you into a nose dive? Especially on the 4stroke? Is it better to come up to the jump with more speed and coast off the lip vs steady throttle all the way through?
Good question. No it doesn’t, because I have so much forward momentum. The momentum is the key, approaching with speed and just maintaining a steady throttle. The steady throttle can be less that the throttle you had while approaching, that’s the misconception.
Back in my pre-power-vavle days, you never would have gottenaway with half of that lap without killing the motor. You need a smart left foot to race small bore
What did you think about the YZ125? Would you recommend it to an adult beginner who really wants to learn. Or would you instead recommend a 250 4 stroke? Thanks!
@UC3nvMUOYZOi6wQTvc0mUEEQ @Ole and a 125 2 stroke is much cheaper/easier to do an engine rebuild when the time comes, hah brings with it, leraning bike maintenance and care etc. A well cared for bike will last for ever, and be a trusty stead to ride.
Both bikes will have similar power, the 250 4t will have a more linear power band (easier to ride) but there's more things that can go wrong with a 4t and they're typically more expensive to fix. 4t all day if money isn't a factor and this is coming from a die hard 2t fan
@@oasplund yeah he’s right 250f four strokes are pain in the ass to rebuild so expensive mine just cost me $1’500 in parts cuz I burned my cam journals on my head a lot can go wrong on a 4 stroke so 125t is the way to go no cam chane verry simple to rebuild if your not rich and don’t have experience with rebuild engines don’t get a 250f not worth the little extra power
Heck yeah! European tour! Definitely will take class if you come to The Netherlands (Axel?) or Belgium (Lommel?) or whatever. Or MC Rilland! my local track :D
New rider here asking for instruction. On a 125 are you supposed to get all your speed up to a jump face and then let off at the lip?? That's what it sounds like sometimes in this video. When I throttle all the way through a jump my nose always sky rockets upward on my 125. Thanks!
I would always recommend approaching with more speed than necessary. One of my friends actually looped out his 125 earlier this week on a jump because he gave it too much throttle at the top of lip. Notice how I come in really fast then almost let off at top of jump
