Hopefully this helps you if you're looking to get some Venom tires! I'm not endorsed or sponsored by Venom tire, this is just my experience and opinion!
Im seeing a lot of comments on message boards and reviews that these tires are very difficult to balance, have uneven wear and shake at highway speeds. Any negatives to mention? How do they perform on the highway? Thanks
It seems like reviews really vary with different people, I've heard a lot of different things about them as well. They did take a lot of weight to balance, but at least they did balance. I don't drive this truck a lot anymore to tell about wear, but they don't shake for me even with my improper alignment and tired steering box. I do have a buddy that has the same size and drives on them every day with no complaints as of now. I looked at his tires the other day and they still look brand new. I honestly don't have any negative to say about the set I got.
I was blown away with how well these did in the snow with my Cherokee trailhawk. It was like driving on pavement. The only time I would slip at all would be in a really hard turn... And even then my stability control would kick in so it didn't matter that much. But I don't think they slide anymore than anything else it's probably less. Overall this is probably the best tire I've ever driven on of any kind except that it's a little bit noisy but it's not too bad.
I agree with you on the outrageous prices on some of the tires on the market, itz hard to justify for me. I have about 7000 miles on some Kenda Klevers & have no problems on my 98. 33x12.50’s on 20x12 rims. Low noise, squared off shoulders & balanced out with low weights! Thanks for the videos, you have helped me out on a few things restoring mine
2wd tahoe here and I have these for a winter tire and I can confirm these will eat snow for breakfast, lunch and dinner, never had gotten suck with these tires before, these are great tires for a good price would definitely buy them again, only bad thing about them is road noise other than that best money spent on tires
Great video, I live in the middle of nowhere Canada. 5 months a year this is the roads, Videos of guys in California just don't cut it for real world reviews.
I’m a Ford guy for life, but I LOVE how those Chevy 90s model extended cab stepsides look, I’ll have a clean one that I only drive in the summer some day
I'm a Ford guy too and I own a 1997 extended cab Z71 350 Vortec 4X4 DD along with a 2005 Powerstroke 4x4 Excursion & a 2002 V6 4x4 Xterra. While Ford absolutely makes the best truck, there are good reasons for the Z71 & Xterra in my lineup. The 1996-1998 Chevy K1500 4x4s are the easiest to work on, have the cheapest replacement parts, have OBDII, ABS, a huge aftermarket and really nice street manners. The same year Ford F150s, while having more prowess offroad, can't compete in the above categories and my pickup spends 95% of it's time on asphalt. The 2002 V6 4x4 Xterra is simply the most dependable, capable and inexpensive trail vehicle I have found. The 2005 Turbo Diesel 4x4 XLT Excursion is just a big, roomy, comfy, unstoppable Tow-pig with solid axles for & rear and 3/4 ton chassis that I will brace to exceed the strength of a 1 ton. I'm in the middle of bullet proofing the 6.OL Powerstroke and will be swapping it for a common rail Cummings, 4R100 tranny/T-case and military axles in 4-5 years I'm never selling them. They cover all of my bases...
I WAS a Ford guy all my life until I got absolutely F'ed on a triton nightmare. Can't believe Ford would ever put something like that out. There will NEVER be a Ford sit in my yard again.
I have a set installed 22x14 black 🦏 over 7 months now haven’t touched my wheel lugs yet when I was tire shopping these were very easy to pick I have a 97 step side 92 fleet side 87 k5 they will all have these venom power on them
Just bought a set. Glad I watched this. I usually get Cooper ST maxx. But the cost is bitting me. So I'm gonna budget build this go around with these venom xt.
Thanks for this video... i moved from FL to IL and have the exact tires... took them for a spin yesterday with our first snow and I agree they seemed fine for what I do (in 4wd) but being this is the first time i have ever lived in snow I wasn't sure. . Fyi i drove them in mud in FL and they were great.
Thanks for this. I’m in the market for a new set of tires for my ‘99 LandCruiser. Just came across a good deal on the Venom Power XTs in the size I want. Definitely looking for a high value tire. Very helpful review. 👍
I’m here watching today because I ordered some today without even knowing anything about them. The guy at the tire shop said they been a hit so I said what the hell. I got the m/ts though not the hybrids though. Hopefully they’re as good as everyone has been saying. I have some ko2s now on my tundra. Well I mean you know bf Goodrich is bf Goodrich I love my ko2s they have been through hell and lasted. Hopefully get the same miles out the venoms.
Well 3 weeks in and love the venoms. I like the square look of the tire and the aggressive look. Road noise ain’t to bad. Not really any different than any other mud tires with a wide pattern. I have them on some 20x10 mayhem utopia tires are 33/12.50s and they make my 2004 tundra limited look damn good. Sad to say been so busy at work I have yet to dig a hole with them lol.
I love these tires. I have 50+k miles on mine and have 30% tread left. 285/55/20 always rotated and the only issue i have with these is road noise is ridiculous
Awesome video love playing in the snow up here in north west Pennsylvania I get lots of the white stuff all winter for bout 2 months I don't see my grass right now we had a hit of 2 feet I put on new tires for the winter and did the same thing went and found a unplowed parking lot and let her rip I had my son out with my phone doing a small video I am putting it up this weekend I was running through bout a foot and a half of snow with my 4x4 it was fun keep up the great work on videos man 👍
Awesome video keep up the good work on the truck. Hopefully we’ll cross paths one day, would like to meet you and meet see the truck in person. I been building my 96 for little over a year and the videos do help out. Thanks again!
Nitto Ridge Grappler has zero road noise. I was hoping these would be less noise than they are in your video. Thanks for the upload. It hurt paying for the ridges but so far the on Highway/Road noise or lack there of..
After working for Michelin tire, (manufacturing plant) their is a lot that goes into one single tire. More than you might think. Yea they are expensive, but the quality we put into them ..there is no video anywhere that does a justice to what makes a tire
Fellow Missourian here glad to see people in my area doin this typa thing I drive an 03 Avalanche if you’re interested in upgrading haha keep up the good work I’m trying to do similar content but at the same time not tryna do the same thing but yeah if you play Xbox give me a holler XNinjaDfusedX
Hey bud, been following your videos recently, I'm liking the way this things cleaning up! But I beg of you can we get some serious fly-bys, under load rpms, and some serious high revs? I reaaally wanna know what that turbine resonator setup sounds like doing work, but you either only do low taps or put music up everytime youre getting on it lol
I know this video is 8 months old, I was hoping to get a little information. First, are these true to size? Meaning are they actually 35" tall? And is there anything new since the video?
These tires are one of the few that are true to size, especially compared to my old set of Atturos. These and the federals I had are both real 35s Tires have been holding up great, of course it doesn't get driven every day. The squared off look of the sidewall is the one of the best parts of these tires.
I usually run 35psi in the tires. Truck has around 170k, and the standard 350 vortec issues, fuel injectors, fuel pump, it's running rough right now and I've yet to figure it out.
I'm looking at a set of these or Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires in 265-70-17. I was wondering your opinion on what you would choose? I have read about a handful of people having balancing issues with the venoms did you experience and issues with balancing?
I don't have any experience with the Falkdns, but have heard good things about them. The venoms are a great tire for the money, I don't daily drive it but know people who do and don't have any complaints aside from road noise. My tires balanced, it did take a bit of weight, but they got there. I like the way they ride and perform in daily conditions.
So just as a reply from someone who’s used the wildpeak at3 tires extensively in snow ice mud rock so on so on the wildpeak at3 tread did amazing in mud & very rocky areas never had any issues with punctures in deep snow they would bite in very well and do exactly what they’re meant to do….but with that said someone who’s running open diffs and has to go from a dead stop to uphill ascend can/will have an issue with the tire clogging up loosing its bite of your locked total opposite they’re gonna dig down bite and go I’m just looking to run something different this year so I think I’m gonna try the venom
Hey can you help me out with something on the 35’s ? My 33 are 31 inches tall is the 35 that tall when measuring them ? I’m wanting to go to 35 but wanna make sure the true size. I love mine they are a true 12 wide also
nice vid man. I am going to get these bad boys! going from Toyo MT and they suck in snow I'm on 22x12 33x12.5, venom look really good wanted the bfg ko2 but $2070 for 4 is crazy I can get these venom 33x14.5r22 for 1700 shipped. @BADZ71 what did those 35x12.5r35 cost?
Just eBay. Like these www.ebay.com/itm/For-1988-1998-Chevy-Silverado-GMC-C10-C-K-1500-Pickup-Sierra-Smoke-Headlight-Set-/353469308050?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
Tread pattern. The XT is closer to a BFG tire, with a Baja like pattern and the RT is very similar to a Ridge Grappler. Both are hybrid, so it kind of depends on your tire preference
Because at the time of making this video, 2 years ago, not many people have heard of or knew about this brand, so since it's RUclips, and you can make whatever, I figured, why not? I didn't even think about when someone might come along down the road asking why I made a video for my own channel if I haven't driven on them much yet.
Hopefully this helps you if you're looking to get some Venom tires! I'm not endorsed or sponsored by Venom tire, this is just my experience and opinion!

I have 4500 on mine and same look great like new (hopefully still as nince at 10k)

I have the venom RTs I love ‘‘em there really good tire the ATs like the one in the vid are really nice as well venoms are cheap but work great
I've got them on my 4x4 gmc sierra and they do great with a little road noise
Just bought a set for my Nissan Frontier Desert Runner
How many miles do you have on them now and how much tread left? is your opinion the same.

Just ordered set of 275/65r20 from Amazon. How did they ship? And did you have to sign for them?
Ups delivered them, and I didn't have to sign
I have to get new tires soon , and I was looking around, and a local shop here sells them , I think I'll give them a shot
I enjoy them! I think you'll like em for the price!
I’m looking for the ATX but can’t find anywhere

What exactly are them tires and what size
sick obs man damn
After having them now for a bit how are they on ice?
Live in Idaho last year we didnt get much ice but they do work wonders on snow tho, alot of road noise on wet surfaces for sure
Love your videos, when are you giving away those awesome mirrors?
Very much appreciated! I have to work out logistics with Boost Auto Parts and I will be doing a video when the giveaway will be live
245 75 16 venoms xt on 2500 Chevy seems fine sofar about 200 miles in will update
how are they
Where did you get your grill it’s bad ass
How do these tires do in mud?
Not sure, haven't tested that one lol
You mentioned only in 2wd a few times, does your 4wd not work? Would love to see some 4wd launches in the snow. 😁
Oh it works lol just wanted to be clear it wasn't in 4x4 🤣

What’s the difference between these XT and RT?
Tread pattern. The XT is closer to a BFG tire, with a Baja like pattern and the RT is very similar to a Ridge Grappler. Both are hybrid, so it kind of depends on your tire preference
Are you running spacers ?
Yes, 2" spacers.
What Oakley's are those?
Jupiters
What rims are those
Anthem Off Road Avengers
What’s the difference between mt and xt
MT is full mud tire tread pattern and XT is the hybrid, mud tire and all terrain mix.
no offense anything will make through snow at 15mph, try down the highway at 55-70mph in them through snow or ice and see how they do.
Love your truck i would love to detail it with it all dirty like that
If you haven't road tested these tires what are you doing a review for ??????

Just got these tires they cannot be balanced after two different shops have tried death wobble at 65 will never buy them again. 2018 ram 33x12.5 r 20
That's not enough snow to do a review. A good test would be 2 to 3 feet. Cars can go through what you went through.
Gotta take what I can get here, we don't get 2-3 feet
the more these wear down the more noise they have
Venom power tires dry rot within 2 years even if I put dressing on them
Interesting. I keep it in the garage, so we'll see what happens! So far so good.
If they want a super quiet tire then loosen up their skinny jeans
You talk to much. Get to the point
That's what videos are for, I'll try and do better with silent movies.
You don’t listen enough.
@@BADZ71 thanks for the review man 👍🏻
😂😂 that's awesome
I keep hearing a lot of people saying they are a pain to get balanced and won’t stay balanced?
It did take a little bit of weight but the tire shop was able to balance them out, ove heads the newest versions of these tires are a lot better.
