    Thank you so much for confirming my thoughts that APA format PowerPoint rules don't necessarily exist. I blame my teacher for making me feel like they do and causing me stress. Your video helped SO much!

    I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I flunked out of college twice right after high school and then joined the military and finally 28 years later went back and got my bachelors degree. Finished with a 4.0. I must say, though, that would not have been possible without your videos. I had absolutely no idea what APA or a reference page even was when I started school again. Thank you for taking the time to do what you do. Cheers.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm a mature student who has never made a PowerPoint before. My first assignment in a class was to make one, and I can't say I've even seen one all the way through before, never having worked in an environment where they were used. I just got a perfect score on my assignment and it is because I watched your video and learned from it. I was so intimidated but now I kind of love PowerPoint. Thank you again!

    Chelsea, this may be written somewhere, so please forgive the crazy question, but I'm hoping you see this and respond: I am doing this for a PPT presentation where it shows me giving the presentation. Do I have to read the in-text citations aloud. That feels weird! I'm hoping that typing them on the slide is enough! Your info is amazing! Thank you!

    • @smartstudent_official
      @smartstudent_official  3 года назад +4

      No standard font other than it needs to be legible and large enough for your views to read it. A safe bet is to use similarly acceptable fonts that you would use writing a paper: Ariel, Calibri, Times New Roman, Georgia

  • @171682
    @171682 3 года назад +6

    Question... if I use a picture from google within my body do I have to reference it in my reference sheet? I was under the impression when using a google image all I had to do was cite the picture in my PowerPoint not the reference sheet as well? Second question is it ok if I cite each bulletin point assuming it’s from the same source or is one in text citation at the end of the bullet points sufficient? Great video!!

    • @smartstudent_official
      @smartstudent_official  3 года назад +6

      Hi there! Both good questions -
      1. While creating a reference list entry seem redundant, it's what the APA association requires. The way I like to think of it is a copy right attribution is a table/figures version of an in-text citation. On top of that an adequate reference list should include ALL of the works that are cited in your PowerPoint. (including images) Does that make sense?
      2. There aren't official rules for how you're supposed to include your in-text citations for your bullet points, so either way works just fine! The way I showed them in the video is my preferred method only because I think it looks cleaner. Especially, since your notes section will contain the in-text citations that are relevant to the specific parts.
      Hope this helps!
