I guess those uniforms just weren't very comfortable.
@@jacksonheathen2092 They were more comfortable than the one-pieces they replaced. I think that, when the actors were seated, the shirts would ride up, so the actors would pull them back down.
I more noticed he pushed himself up using the touch sensitive console. Surprised the ship didn't explode.
I would think in the future that they would have figured out how to design a shirt that doesn’t ride up.
Love how Picard sees Wesley collapse but ignores him and goes after Beverley

Imagine every single federation ship going through so much weird stuff every week. Can barely go from one planet to another without trouble.
You go into the federation to get weird. Every ship has funky nonsense constantly. He'll even ds9 couldn't escape the crazy

2- Episodes last more than a week and there is more than a week between episodes.
3- To BOLDLY go where NO man has gone before. That mission statement means seeking out weird stuff and trouble.
Weird stuff, or else you're on a ship that explodes. Hard choice sometimes.
I love how Beverly is more interested in gabbing with the traveler than checking on her own son who is lying half dead on the floor! 🤣

At 1:31 in the previous segment, Geordi says the warp bubble is contracting at the rate of 15 meters per second (33 mph). Beverly is outrunning that, and still has time to pause and think a while about whether she wants to jump through the portal. (For reference, Usain Bolt set the world record for the 100-m dash at 9.58 seconds.)
If the Olympics still exist, she must have won latinum medals in track and field.
Maybe that book had a part in the inspiration for this episode. I loved "The Langoliers". It was creepy, with an entrancing , ethereal quality to it.
Whew.... that was a gut wrenching, hold your breath episode. When it originally aired, I did not know where that was going to go and feared they would kill off Beverly.
Dr Crusher jumps through and hits the floor... Wesley falls down and Picard runs right past him like he's not there 😂😂😂
A perfectly good episode about the fear of losing one's closest friends, and it has one of Trek's most heartwarming endings with a very good score. 😎👍
Because I'm a bit of a psychopath, I kinda wished there was a lingering question as to whether crusher actually escaped or was forever trapped in a universe of her own thoughts.

Remember Me. I remember that the stunt she did herself was when she's on the bridge and she's sideways being pulled into the vortex. Also I don't know if anyone else noticed but when she tells the turbo that to go to deck 36 and it starts to go the light in the panel is going the wrong way it's signifies that the turbo that is traveling upwards not downwards.
I did notice that and thought it looked like the lift was going up, then shrugged it off
was this the episode she found out she was pregnant i knew it was one episode in this season not sure if it is this one or another episode.

@@IrishCarney No, he literally meant that Gates McFadden, the actress, found out she was pregnant after doing stunts in this episode.
I think that in this case (in an in-universe context), what was more important was the mental intent, the focus of the destination. But yeah, IRL probably just a practical effects hiccup. Moved the LED's on a rotating belt in the wrong direction behind the frosted plexiglass panel.
This is why I always have my son create warp bubbles down at the park and not in the house.
Excellent ending to an unusual episode. The appearance of The Traveller was a nice bonus ☮️🖖
I love how dejected Picard looks when she hugs Wesley.

Loved it so much when this episode first aired, and Wes started phasing along with The Traveler. We'd waited a long time for him to finally begin to realize his potential.

@@aceman67 No rock at all - I'm just young! I've been consuming other equally interesting media in the past, and have been meaning to get to Star Trek for a while. It doesn't air on TV where I am, (if it does, I feel it'd be a hassle for me to access) so these clips are fortunate.

Besides, not just engineering as the trigger location would have been obvious, but also maybe the center of the bubble as indicated by the computer schematic. And that was probably centered there.

The earlier instances were unstable portals and possibly why they jumped to her location rather than engineering. Wesley's fear and guilt (and lack of experience) probably added to the portal jumping. Also, plot hole. Beverly couldn't know about the portal if it always appeared in engineering. 😉

When I was a kid this was my favorite episode.
I remember yelling at the screen, "Engineering, you goofball! It started there. Go to engineering and stop talking to the computer!" It seemed like ol' Bev chewed up far more than 4 minutes playing 20 questions with the computer. Whew.
I wonder if this episode was a metaphor for getting old. Keep losing people then you forget about the people you used to know

Well, that little twerp has been the cause of many Enterprise consternations...from those damned experiments that end up harming ship and/or crew....to being and insubordinate little ingrate to getting fellow cadets killed in the academy.....it's no wonder he's treated like a red headed b*stard step child...and rightfully so....😂😂😂

The way the bubble is collapsing, the bridge should be gone already
the bridge is(was?) ok the upper center of the saucer section, so only the forward decks were gone it hadn't reached the halfway point. it was probably starting to fizzle as she headed to engineering though

That episode freaked me somehow out as a kid.
This episode and 'Sarek' (S3 E23) well illustrate how Alzheimer/dementia must've looked like for the poor souls suffering from it.

Indeed. That does come out to 54 km/h (33.5 mph). Apparently the writers didn't take the time to do the math. haha
Dr. Crusher's scenes as she teases out whether she's crazy or not are amusing. The writers really disrespected the Wesley character though. I mean what on earth is he doing at the end of this episode? Pitching him as some mysterious mystic prodigy is just a huge dodge to write anything serious for that character.

I've been through the craziest shit the last few days.
Don't you just love how many crazy experimental things go on right next to the high-energy, matter-anti matter power core of the ship? I mean let's raise the stakes by potentially blowing everything in a 10,000 km radius with our science projects!

I know this is a couple of years late. I found a book or a trilogy of books where Wesley is a Traveler. Those books were awesome.

Can we appreciate the fact that this episode establishes that Thanos, even with the full infinity gauntlet, is no match for Wesley Crusher? Sure, Thanos can destroy half the life in the universe with but a snap of his fingers, but Wesley is beyond such minor things as universes - he can create new ones with warp bubbles, and then collapse them at will.
Don't forget opening portals between said realities.
Uh, wha? I thought Wesley was a mere mortal. You saying he’s half Q, that the Squire of Gothos sired him?!
Wesley's story never got a fair chance from anyone, but at least they brought back the Traveler a third time in an episode that wasn't TNG's best to give him a better sendoff.
Will wait patiently for the scene where Dr. Crusher bones a space ghost :)

Dr. Crusher connects the dots pretty slowly here. She should have made a mad dash for engineering when she noticed the ship disappearing and where the bubble was centralized.
It connected for us because we were shown both sides. It's like people who watch Texas Hold'em on tv and think they are great poker players because they can always tell when someone is bluffing or has good cards.

@@RandallHallKaizenReiki Honestly, I think we *shouldn't* have been shown both sides. I think it would have more dramatic tension - and less repetition of information - if we stayed with Crusher's perspective the whole time.
@@Nalehw I think there is likely evidence that if you do show both sides part way through like in this case keeps the viewers watching.
@@Nalehw I mean the confusion is good for a while, but without knowing that the disturbances are the attempts to rescue her, there would be no tension. And the ending wouldn't make sense at all, just sound like a bunch of nonsense fed to us in the final minutes.
The Traveller's sausage fingers on the touch screen - He must be touching several key positions at once.
I am always fascinated by the keyboard on this enterprise. They seem to always need to be tapping on the consoles all the time. Notice how anyone on the bridge at a console always has to be tapping it. Surely there are times when they don't need to.

Here is something I am betting a lot of you missed. Even though the realty Beverly created was destroyed, she managed to bring a piece of it back with her. Her lab coat. When she got zapped away she had on only her duty uniform. But here she still has on the lab coat from the other reality.

And then at 1:48 how the turbo lift starts going *up* from the bridge…which is at the top of the ship so there isn’t anywhere to go from there.

Some say the Enterprise is still at warp. Souless. The beans on board decayed and sprouted to become Beanans and forever took command of the USS Starship Enterprise.
This is the most plausible premise for a TNG fanfic that I've seen in many years.
I love how no one is pulling the Traveler aside and asking tons of questions once she’s back.
