Appropriate ... you filmed the "shipboard scenes" aboard Carrier Yorktown (CV-10,) named for the ship (CV-5) that took part in the Battle of the Coral Sea and kicked butt at Midway before being lost herself, the setting for the WWII scenes of your story. The old girl doesn't look bad for being nearly 70 years old. Well done, and a tip of hat to the sailors who took both Yorktowns, CV-5 and CV-10 in Harms Way.
So happy to finally see another Project: Runabout! Great story! Loved this film -- I can see that the crew on this tiny ship will be taking on those "little" missions the big ships don't have time for. Love that idea. And love the nod to DS9 with the runabout being named Rio Grande.
, thank you for a great program this is one of those programs that is Imagination that can carry it in so many different places awesome great job keep it up look to see more of it
Left me with a smile. Love the nods to "the floor panel" and our Fearless LT from the Pilot. Very much looking forward to more Project: Runabout. Much thanks!
Fantastic episode, i liked the in jokes and ref to the panel in the floor from the first episode and the way you tied the story in with issues of that time period and dealt with them well and it totally made my day watching this episode. Very well done to Gary and the Team.
The idiot try's to kill the captain but gets himself blown up in the process keeping history in tact for the most part, you all did great we the fans will never get enough time travel episodes from the sires or fan films this was a good story indeed.
The yellow battle lanterns are in place, but at 15:59 there is something above them is an anachronism that appears to be LED fixtures that have yet to be created in that time frame. Fun story, especially if you've never been haze gray and underway.
YUP.,. there were ALLL kinds of modern day technology, signs pointing to tours, and things added to the ship to make it more friendly to tourists.. Our hope was that the audience was too busy watching the actors to notice. I was active duty Navy for 22 years.. so this was SO much fun to film.. AND to be the CAPTAIN of the carrier!
They guy who called the SF officer boy was wearing "distressed geans" I doubt the Navy would issue that. Also only full beards could be worn not goatees (I think) not 100% sure on US Military grooming regs. In the Canadian Forces beards, mustaches or clean shaven is allowed, I assume the US Navy is the same. Cool that you could film on a museum ship!
This is so cool!! An amazing, well done episode!! Brilliantly written, scripted, & acted!! I’m sorry the lieutenant had to go through that prejudice on the Yorktown. No one should ever have to go through that!! I’m hoping for more wonderful episodes like this one!! The Runabout is awesome!! The villain was looney & batty, but set on revenge…which came to bite him in the butt. But, he was also quite funny & playful too😁😁👍👍!! I so dearly love this absolutely brilliant series so very much!! More please
Well done to all involved. Some minor mistakes like an LED emergency lighting in sickbay on the Yorktown (LEDs didn't exist in 1942, they didn't exist until after I retired from the Navy in 2004.), most compartments had incandescent lighting instead of florescent also. Sorry to nit, but I thought that seeing those things made me laugh. LOL Keep making more vids. Again, well done.
We are glad you enjoyed it. It was a BLAST MAKSING. As for the LED lights...we couldn't remove anything from the "set", as it was a retired Naval Aircraft Carrier turned into a museum.. We did our best to avoid shooting things that were inaccurate for the timeframe... Or.. we hoped no one would notice and be focused on our action. It was just inevitable. I think if you are an eagle eye, you can catch "Tour" signs in the background, but we did our best to avoid.
The Yorktown was struck by a single 800 pound bomb, killing 40 of the crew and leaving her crippled, limping back to Pearl Harbor for one of the most remarkable repair jobs in history. This happened near the end of the battle, long after the sinking of the light carrier Shoho. US planes were engaged about the same time against the main Japanese carrier force, the Shokaku and the Zuikaku. Neither Japanese carrier was able to sortie at Midway. The Zuikaku lost too many planes, and the Shokaku had taken heavy damage from TF-17 planes under admiral Fletcher. Now here is a challenge for you. I have thought of doing this myself and I just might. Try doing a Star Trek about the WW 2 foo fighters which were witnessed by all militaries during the war. I only have Second Life to work with.
Great story and concept BUT, There was a plastic shopping bag on a bunk in the crew quarters, the machinist in the Mess Hall was wearing Nikes and, it is an A5M not an AM5 for the Zero.
YUP!.. We had our extras hanging out when we filmed.. NIKES.. HE WAS.. I thought those were work boots! The plane.. ya. we had to work with what we could get on that.. Our only excuse on the filming errors was that we only had five hours to film, and even less time to critique the actor's wardrobe. Overall.. They did great. I didn't even notice the footwear until JUST now... GOOD catch!
@@gdavisohio Please don't take my critique as bashing in any way. I love what you did and the story line was great. I have this uncanny ability to see things that are out of place. I just like to pass things I notice to the people that make a difference. That way, as you produce and write more, your sets and environments will get tighter. Keep going!
@@ToddHofer No bashing perceived.. We like constructive comments about the quality of the story as well as production. I enjoyed the Nike comment.. I had never noticed before!
Honestly hadn't known about this until someone on r/AzureLane brought it up during Parallel SuperImposition's run... ah, the tangents your fandoms will go...
Thank you for your service! We tried to create a fun, thoughtful story while fitting it into the events that actually took place on that day in history and also not soiling the reputation of he U.S. Navy or the memory of those who served.
They could really use someone to tailor the uniforms. Starfleet also does not allow women to have bare legs, if they wear a skirt it should be tight and the hem well above the knees, they should wear black pantyhose
you cannot change the past. It has already occurred. The only past you can change is one that has no effect on your future. Welcome to the paradox of time.
I know Star Trek is inclusive. But with current tensions in the world......Including a certain actor. Sorry. I just find it unacceptable. The video was good for the most part. But got hard to ignore the Elephant in the room.

Wonderful Episode! Great Cast! Really enjoyed the funny bits with the computer!
Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Oh yes!! Me too
I have a feeling that runabout is going to be awfully busy in the future.
That was a classic Star Trek storyline. Well done!
This was a great film. Dare I say it, the best to come out of Dominion Media.
YES YOU MAY DARE! 😂
Very cool! Lot of fun , and filming on the Yorktown is awesome! 👍👍🖖
Now, That is some good Star Trek there... Bravo !!!!
The crewmen aboard Yorktown is like Chekov and Uhura on the Ranger (Enterprise's stand in)
Great job cast and crew alike!

Wow! More, please!! A TOS runabout?? Crazy smart idea!
We love the Rio Grande! She's got all the things thr big ships have, you know? Just in a smaller package!
indeed I would think of this as a kind of TOS style tribute to this Runabout the Rio Grande's TNG/DS9 counterpart
BRAVO! Loved being involved in this film! Best one yet!!!
What a wonderful film. So cool that you filmed on a battleship. Great story and cool 1940s era costuming.
Thanks!
This is really a great story. I love the characters too.
Thanks you! A lot of love and work went into it!

good story, funny ending. good job guys.
Wonderful video. Good to see younger people who love real star trek. Thank you.

I love time travel stories.
I have to resist the temptation to do them every episode!
@dreadnoughtdominion8988 think of this way... the power of the temporal prime directive compells you!!!!!!!!!

The LEDs and the exit sign(s) stood right out. So did the pilot's briefing room.
@@NovaScotiaNewfie Beards actually were allowed until 1985, they just had to be kept neat and well-groomed.

As a Start trek for many years, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Great story. Perfect song to end it as well!
I'm enjoying this Dominion episode too. Fine work.
Totally awesome!
That was spectacular! So fun and really well done. Acting was the bomb and sets were spot on for a fun time! Hope to see more!!!!
Oh boy, 10 out of 10 for the endeavour, the sets and graphics but that’s about it…. sure things will improve, keep going folks!
Kataka's character reminds me of Finnegan
Interesting story, excellent acting, totally enjoyed it!
Great fun!
I like the design of the runabout. I believe this was the actual design of the TOS shuttlecraft ...

Interesting.
Any officer of a lower rank than Commander would be required to either say, "Yes, Commander", "Yes, Ma'am", Yes, sir", Or "Aye, Commander".
We hope that despite a few technical errors, you were able to enjoy the story.
Great story!

Differently some great startrek 😁👍👍👍
Thank you sir!
Oh my, a temporal anomaly must have caused the invention of led emergency lights in the 1940's . Dang causality.
WOOPS!.. LOL
Intro is really cool, looks like a a scene from Pixar animated movie "Lightyear"
'That a way', they went 'That a way'!
nice fx and uniforms, nice wormhole also :)
