Hey PiPs, that purple XL7 is quite a rugged battlewagon fella'. Suzuki really manufactured solidly built vehicles. To this day not entirely sure WHY they decided to abandon the U.S. market close to ten years ago. As an owner maybe you have some insight on their inability to last in the lucrative American market ?!? High Five Yo ! 🖐 🔛 🚧
It really is. When they partnered with GM, there quality went downhill. The Equator was a great truck, basically a rebadged Frontier with a better warranty for less money but nobody bought it.
They were killing U.S. Made 4x4´s with the Samurai, so there was a huge campaign to kick Suzuki out of the country (to the point of creating a course with ramps on the curves in order to make the Samurai to tip over) all this was exposed years later. There was even a reporter who had an accident (I think he worked for consumer's report) but since the whole scheme to get rid of Suzuki went public, maybe that accident was made up.
Sounds like that spring mounted joint between the manifold Y pipe and the catalytic converter popped out. Happens all the time. Lose the cat and weld the straight pipe to the Y pipe. I've done it on all 3 of my XL7s. And let Greta growl at you anyway.
The exhaust was already rigged up before we set out, as you can see it didn’t last very long! All the hangers in the rear were broken off. Straight pipe does sound good though.
Too funny, I am no off roader but I blame the owner of the Ranger. Why would you stop in the middle of a trail when you can't see the vehicle behind you or that vehicle can't see you?
@@PIPSBURGHVIEWS your better off I got one off ebay that was supposed to be direct fit muffler and tail pipe it didn't come with nuts and I couldn't find any that would thread onto the studs in the muffler and none of the gaskets they provided were right!

hope you didnt make the same mistake i did and buy the xl7 muffler off e bay 🤣🤣 love my xl7!!
That would have been an upgrade! We welded a used muffler directly to the y-pipe.
