Actually, all the American Idol winners signed to UMG Interscope, which took over the American Idol contract in 2011, the same year that Haley was on Idol, got scammed by UMG Interscope.
As all the American Idols they signed through the years were either cut before they ever got to release an album or otherwise cut soon after their debut albums were released with absolutely no artist development, support, or promotion whatsoever, and at the same time they screwed them over and destroyed their dreams. Haley was one of their unwitting victims.
Nonetheless, the first song released last October off of Haley's new album went gold organically with no big major record label support or promotion, which is virtually unheard of today, and, of course, all the big major record labels started immediately courting her and trying to sign her to their record labels.
Meanwhile, Haley deliberately extended the process to ensure that she would get the best deal possible. In any event, she has been signed and is currently in the studios writing and recording a new album to be released sometime late Spring or early Summer by her new major record label.

Steve, don't get me wrong, I'm a Selenator, but Selena doesn't have nearly the vocal ability as other female musicians. I still love her though

Producer manipulation. They chose Lauren and Scotty as their faves day 1, and they weren't going to let anyone break that. Haley fought very hard though, and I'm proud she came 3rd.

This season was probably the most talent filled season. Her, Jacob Luke, Casey Abrams, the winner, there’s so many songs I downloaded to my first iPod and still listen to. I was a senior in high school. This was all we would talk about on the bus. Good memories ❤

Casey was good when he did those two duets with Haley, but other than that, those stupid grunts he did ad nauseam totally turned me off. Once he started grunting, I had to turn the volume down.

Proud to say I'm still a Halien 3 years later! I go to see her live shows, & her rendition of this song always gives me chills & brings me back to this performance when I first fell in love with her. 12 years later since I first seen this performance. I was in the 7th grade, our teacher made us watch it, and I instantly fell in love with her voice and attitude she maintained throughout her performance, she is remarkable. She made the song her own, she was the true winner of this season.

I really don't understand how she's not more famous. I mean despite not being able to play so much as a guitar chord, I'm a music junkie so I'm well aware of her. But man what a great voice and what a good looking girl. Beats me.
She was cut by Interscope shortly after her debut album was released, not because her music was no good, but because Interscope had to cut 65 artists from their record label to avoid bankruptcy.
Subsequently, she remained unsigned until late 2016. She released one Album during that time, but it was an independent release and wasn't promoted. Nonetheless, it was a very good album.
Then after Interscope, because she was still stuck with 19 management, she deliberately didn't do many gigs and instead audition for TV and movie roles until her contract with 19 finally ran out in the middle of 2014. Which is how she got her current voice acting gig with F is For Family, the Netflix hit show.
Then she began managing her own career and finally started doing a lot of gigs again and also hooked up with PMJ. With PMJ, she recorded 8 songs and most of them went to number one on the jazz charts and the videos on PMJ's RUclips also went viral.
She also toured America, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand with PMJ several times.
In late 2015 she recorded "Can't Help Falling in Love" for an Extra Gum commercial and then unbeknownst to her, that song organically became the number one song on the Spotify world hit viral chart and then charted from November of 2015 to the middle of July 2016 on both the HAC and AC charts. It subsequently became her first gold record and is now on the verge of becoming her first platinum hit record.
Also, for months in 2016 all the big major record labels also tried to sign her, but disappointingly she dished them all and signed with Concord Records instead, which to me is a disappointment. I think it is because they allow her the freedom to do anything she wants to do. Anyway, if she has a one or two more big major hits, she'll hit the big time. She's right on the verge right now.
