I play a lizardfolk druid in a campaign right now and he's so much fun. Because of how different he is from humans conversation with him often falls into an awkward silence, at which point he licks his eyeball and usually totally freaks the humans out.
Nice! My second ever dnd character was a lizardfolk barbarian. Didnt lean quite as much into the lack of emotions thing as I should have but she did have a very weird way of relating to the civilized world and wasnt really as outwardly expressive as other characters except when raging, which we ended up reflavoring as this completely feral state. Anyway these guys are great fun to play as and i liked your take on them as crocodile people since giant tails+sharp teeth+amphibious sounds like a recipe for a croc to me

I don't usually comment. But there was a survey asking me how the video I watched (this one) compares to other videos I watched this week. Although the content and subject are completely different from your video, I rated this better than the competition. You have a unique channel and it's fun to watch. And I'm not even a D&D, Pathfinder, or other RPG player. They are a good break from all the other '"heavier" subject matter that I watch. I need to have less stressful, happier videos to balance all the other stuff. And I have always loved fantasy art, monsters, and magic stuff. ZZZzzappp!!!!
I played a lizardfolk in an evil campaign named BaRakk of clan O'bama. He had chameleon eyes which were constantly darting around, and he got arrested for eating a halfling at one point. He didn't kill it, he just doesnt like to waste food.
Currently doing a 5e campaign where I am a homebrew Lizardfolk Monk who was trained in the art of Lucha Wrestling. Character's biology is more based around raptors of old. based around moving around quicker with the signature raptor claws with feather decorations on the Lucha mask/gear.
I have a lizardfolk in my party. His name is Vyth. He is a ranger. He came from an island were he had a sister. She was killed when a yuanti raid swept through their village. He has become a traveling cartographer and wishes to one day snuff out the life of all yuanti so that his village can be safe. Vyth takes everything literally, wich may or may not has lead to the death of WAY too many nps
Y'know, I've been kinda planning this Lizardfolk character (I always play Lizardfolk btw, I don't know, I just really like them) who comes to 'soft-skin' lands out of curiosity. When he first gets there, he's devoid of emotion and only views things and gauges its value based on if it helps him survive or not. But by the end of the adventure, he'll have bonded with his friends (maybe one will die IDK) and have learned about what it means to feel love, or anger, or sadness and other sappy stuff
i've seen a few of your videos now and man do i love your art style and color choices. when i'm able i definitely will become a patron. I WANT these to just panel one of my walls man. Wonderful keep up the good job. Absolutely love it.
I do remember your Yuan-Ti vid, & my take on Lizardfolk is quite similar to yours. in the lore of many D&D worlds in which these scaly boys exist, they're said to be a quite ancient race, one that has left their original Mayan-like pyramids & such. thus I take it as an ultra-logic species that favours utility above all. they can love, they can hate, they can feel, but 1) they don't feel emotions like humanoids do & 2) they aren't driven by feelings. they are either utilitarianists or savage, but even their wild side has an utility to it as a means to survival.
Love playing a lizardfolk mostly as a paladin that comes from a tribe that worships their dinosaur ancestors and the God whom title is "Father of Dinosaurs"
I’d say lizardfolk are thought to be so nihilistic cause reptiles have few facial muscles. Where is Dragonborn are considered more charismatic because they have mammalian facial muscles.
Also ask for lizard folk and Dragon born I would say the main difference is dragon born Being much bigger first off and then as well Lizard folk having larger tails or rather longer ones and often having a prehensile tail basically just mix it up with what kind of lizards you’re basing them off of some of them might be more Chamaeleon maybe some of them look like armadillo lizards some of them have say monitor lizard luck and some can even glide due to being part Draco gliding lizard
I have a suggestion, which (to my knowledge) does not appear in the books. Can you take on Amphisbaena? It’s a lesser known Greek mythology monster, more commonly known as the two-ways serpent. It’s a snake with a head on each end of its body, that was born when a drop of blood from Medusa’s head landed on the sand while Perseus flew over the Libyan desert. It’s often described as having a single pair of short legs next to one of its heads. The name Amphisbaena literally means “going two ways”. I’d love to see you doing this as a home brew monster! (Sorry about the long comment, lol)

There was this decently long series on r/dndgreentext telling the story of an entirely lizardfolk party. It's still one of my favorite D&D stories.
