The channel just keeps getting better james. Cant wait for the next video. Also theres something really satisfying about getting under the seats to clean 👍
Nice to see a young chap getting stuck in and doing some graft 😎 I would have the drivers seat professionally repaired it is a specialist job...a dying art.
Firstly, make a nice cup of tea, take a sip, sit down and enjoy new vid! Thank you James Iˇm rly happy for you to get your hands on those recaro seats.. I only dream about getting some recaro seats in my Astra G coupe :/ But I got full leather so not that bad at the moment :D
Keep the red on the gearstick and handbrake gaiter and get the stitching on the seats done to match, looks great ( and is standard) in a mk4.5 titanium x sport
A good product to use in cars are the cat and dog, pet deodourising products for use on carpets and furniture. Very good at neutralising smells but they leave no pong of their own.
Juicy!! Spent the morning in our local Ford dealership, surrounded by Blue oval Heaven, so nice to come home and watch this, keep them coming. Think you.
Quick tip for getting the shine off the leather and back to factory matt finish. Damp magic eraser and wipe dry with clean towels. I was amazed how quickly i got the whole of my gen 8 accord done with this method. Don't use expensive leather cleaners and conditioners. The cleaner got it clean but as soon as used the paired conditioner it went shiny again even tho the bottle said Matt finish
Nice video looking much better and the satisfaction you get when it's properly clean to. I only use autobrite stuff for cleaning my car really recommend any of there products.
Nice video, the mondeo is looking good, not a big fan of recaros but its your car and its interesting to watch nonetheless. Cleaning a car interior always feels great
Just a quick note you didn't need to take trims of seat to get belts out, just remove bolt from underneath and the anchor will slide in and out between the seat and trim
Another reason to disconnect the battery is that if you disconnect the seat air bag and turn the ignition on you will get an airbag light that may have to be reset by the dealer.
Nice upgrade. Was the seats from similar age Mondeo otherwise the loom/connections could be slightly different (for heating element). Also change the pre-tensioners for your original ones or you will get an airbag light.
It's easy for me sitting in the armchair to say but I would have sorted the stitching on the new seat before removing the old set. Apart from that it's all good. I also like the silver strip on the doorcards as it will tie in with the silver alloys.
Just a small note, try not to use chrome sockets on an impact gun, we’ve all done it, but unless they are quality sockets, I wouldn’t trust them on a 3/8th or 1/2 inch impact driver to be honest. Enjoying the content so keep it coming.
Even with the battery disconnected, the airbag could go off! Some car airbag computers have a backup circuit (small battery) which keeps running for a while. Be carefull!
You did exactly the same as I did in my Mk3 Focus taking the rear seats out - undid a bunch of bolts and then discovered that actually they were held in by a ball joint in the middle and and weird clip thing at the sides which needed a screwdriver to open (with quite some force I might add). Annoying!
Hay cool vid, I've got something similar planed for a MK4 Mondeo. Quick question, I'll take it this is classed as a mid but do you need to inform the insurance company?
Not sure if you are aware but you should use impact sockets with an impact gun! Otherwise one day those torx bits will just shear on you (quite painful )
Maybe an idea, can you swap drivers seat for passenger seat? To save it getting more ruined and be nicer to sit in, as far as im aware there is no difference to bolt/connector and settings on most cars, so should be a simple swap, unless there are differences then obviously not, just a suggestion though
Hope Draper are still watching your vids cos you are doing them proud. That Stormforce looks amazing. My old man used to sell workshop tools for a living, Draper was a big seller, got a few of their tools myself.
Shame they aren't the proper st220 seats as the st220 ones were 8 way electric adjustment whereas the ones you popped in are manual adjustment. Also rear back seats have to have all the rear brackets that you mullered removed to properly fit. If you need any help bud I break these so know where the bolts are etc
Having seen this linked from another video i have to give you a A for effort, but an F for preparation There is no need to butcher the side panels to get the seat belts off, you can get to the one torx bolt from either the inside or the outside, lifting the seat to it's max height gives you more than enough space On the rears you undo both bracket torx bolts and they are off in seconds, smashing the securing fixings is NOT the way to do it I'd also not recommend using an impact gun on them unless you have cracked them off with a breaker bar first, you will spend the next few days swearing at yourself if the head strips Good point on the battery though I know I'm 2 years too late but if anyone watches this now and reads the comments you'll know
James,do you know what year the recaros are from? Some of the early ones wiring aren't compatible with later which yours is, you can get issues with heated seats and pretensioners. Fingers crossed you don't 👍
@@TheSavageGarage you might need to swap the pretensioners over. If heated seats permanently on then they'll never work properly without rewiring somehow 😫
Magic erasers work wonders on leather seats as well when used with a decent leather cleaner, dried with a microfibre towel and then followed up with leather conditioner.
@@dmc4708 it was unbelievable what came of my stearing wheel, bought a suzuki sx4 s-zl thought the stearing wheel was plastic felt awful Googled how to clean it was totally amazed at how warm water and the magic sponge worked best 69p I've ever spent did the seat belts as well
@@simonevans9145 there is nothing better for getting ingrained dirt out of most materials. I picked up my Mondeo ST last weekend and one of the first jobs on the list is to thoroughly clean out the interior.
Yes I noticed that as well just dropped the dewalt impact on the ground. He was rushing, I know that is not an excuse I just didnt expect it lol. Hate being critical on this channel though, he does his best and tries hard to get things right.
I love watching your channel but I feel as if you always do half a job.. like hoovering and cleaning carpet you could of just done it properly... the Astra wheels were rushed and the paint on bumpers were rushed take your time and do it over 2 vids if you have to... no hate at all
If u work on cars your self you should know a small job can quickly turn into a big job it yours doing it properly how is he supposed to know it's a 2 video job before he starts
Reece Stewart like the video he just done could be a 2 part.. but leaving carpet dirty while putting newer seats in why try clean it in 1st place... i get we all don’t have time and jobs could turn bigger ie snapped bolts but he had hoover out and seats out 15 mins more and could of been done ..👍🏻👍🏻
An old MK4 Golf can be had cheaply with the 1.9TDI. I average 65mpg with mine. My personal record is 74mpg on a run. If you wanted just MPG alone, a VW Polo with the same engine would probably be the best. I'd love a TDI Lupo for their frugality, but not sure I'd want to drive one of those. Mondeo's can be good, but they can have a few expensive problems.
Love you vids man but you dont realise how crap Ford can be until you se how rusty things can get after 14 years but nice seats and nice vid keep it up
The good old days having too buy a richbrook tax disc holder for an interior mod 😂🤙🏻
good
The channel just keeps getting better james. Cant wait for the next video. Also theres something really satisfying about getting under the seats to clean 👍
Nice little add there James!! I would change the centres for Alcantara myself. Looking forward to seeing the next vid.
Nice to see a young chap getting stuck in and doing some graft 😎
I would have the drivers seat professionally repaired it is a specialist job...a dying art.
Great upgrade matey, I did the same to my old ST TDCi too.
Also they were not exclusive to the ST220, they were a factory option on the ST TDCi
"Not gonna show you that because you've already seen it" Proceeds to show us 😄
JMYPS shhh

Have the same recaros in my st and love them! I drive 800 miles a week on average and have to say they are still as comfy as ever
Keep the red on the gearstick and handbrake gaiter and get the stitching on the seats done to match, looks great ( and is standard) in a mk4.5 titanium x sport
I’ve just bought a 2013 focus st 3 heated leather recaros there awesome 👌
Love your videos I love the st seats tbh and thats true little detail makes a difference well done
Hello James,it's looking sweeeeet with the recaros in the Mondeo, they make the car so much better.👍

If there's an airbag in there, you may want to research the proper way to stitch up that seam so that it will still break open when the bag goes off.
joshonthetube yea you use break away stitching I believe
Nice video, the mondeo is looking good, not a big fan of recaros but its your car and its interesting to watch nonetheless. Cleaning a car interior always feels great
Looks good mate like the old mondeo just got new shape one 65 plate love it
Keep the grind going loving the videos James your a legend

Should have repaired that drivers seat before you put it in..!
Les McNamara it’s all good doesn’t take much to get it out
Just a quick note you didn't need to take trims of seat to get belts out, just remove bolt from underneath and the anchor will slide in and out between the seat and trim

Looks so much better.
Another good vid...id have shampooed the carpets myself it's where most of the nasty smells in the car come from, but I guess time was against you.
Nice! But put some pipe lagging on yer door edges...Passenger side was rubbing the wall.
Nice upgrade nice a clean car
All My respects, bud!
You don’t need to take off the seat side plastics to access the seat belt bolt. You can do it from underneath before you remove the seat
Nice upgrade. Was the seats from similar age Mondeo otherwise the loom/connections could be slightly different (for heating element). Also change the pre-tensioners for your original ones or you will get an airbag light.

Savage garage I’d have a look at the ghia x steering wheel for the Mondeo liked the video

The Savage Garage do you have to declare those seats to your insurance with them being from another st?
It's a good idea to put something in between the wall and your door to prevent it getting scratched as your moving around in the car
An other great video mate and &1.45 for a year car tax I pay that every 3 months for 1.6 focus in Dublin Ireland 😬😬

One of the best upgrades you can do to a car...Nice 'score'...
They look the same as the focus st seats you fitted before. Did you think of trying it or is it sold?

You need get a good conditioner and leather sealant for the seats, that APC will take the top layer and colour off

Mega video again mate
Looks like Onslow has been eating crisps in your car.
James Nasto haha onslow 😂 younger viewers won’t get that !
Anyone who watches PBS in the states know Keeping Up Appearances with the Bucket woman.
That bumper needs attending to lets such a nice car down you can sort it 👍
Found something missing from your garage collection..... It's a hoover! 🤣. Draper could help you... Free hoover 😜
I’m sure he wouldn’t refuse.. YET another freebie..🤢🤢🤢✊
Couldn't be driving around in someone else's mess for a year, first thing i do is gut a car inside lol
Blane Smith I usually would for some reason I didn’t on the mondeo
bet you kicked yourself when you realised you only had to undo that t50 bolt and the belt came straight out, lol.

Hi.. I thought all ST220s came with 8 way position switch on electric seats.
do you know which colour plug (from the conections under the seat) is from the airbag(sensor)
hope I'm not too late to say looks a very good up grade you made there so I hope it is still holding up for you.
Those are phase 1 door cards. Phase 2 had the chrome trim like the ones youre about to replace
Hi pal where did you get the front splitter from?
Nice job James :).
Very well done 👍
Really nice seats love mine in my 220. Should I decat mine can't decide
Autobright product is really good quality.

Good point on the battery though

Do heated seats work .mine did not when i changed them
good job friend. from spain.

I know what you could do, I don’t know how must it cost but I think you should re trim the mondeos steering wheel and the gear knob cover
a magic eraser /sponge is good on hard plastic just try it on a bit you won't see works wonders on leather steering wheels again just be careful

How many miles has your car done?
Please don't use cable ties on the side bolster 😉
😂 when the airbag goes off and you most likely cur your arm open
I'd have had the seat re stitched not with cable Ties
Top tip get yaself a small container to store screws n trim when removing seats etc saves looking 4 lost screws
I'd have removed battery lead before starting any job
Always work methodically especially on modern cars
Respect your tools

Put heater pads in the rear seats before you install them would be a nice touch.
When are we going to see the Ford fiesta need cold start on it
Ford likes using blue thread locker.
You should get a vw polo 2007
Just bought 1 of these interiors from my mate cos he crashed his mk3 mondeo it wasn't a st just st seats

What's the mpg you'd get out of this? Looking at getting a mondeo for motorway commuting
For the 2.2 st you will get about 55mpg on the motorway 40-45 round town

SuperFIFTHGEAR if it’s just Mpg and costs that is wanted a 1.9tdi Audi A3. 30 road tax 60-70 mpg
Magic sponge and plain tap water in a spray bottle will clean the interior plastic to as new condition.
Next project must be Focus MK1 please Sir,I beg you 🙏🙏
Paradox Brothers ST170 ,, cool car ,,under rated ,,great to own .
Really ..!! Get a life .. beg you.. have some self respect ✊
Ash Young Who cares what you say lol
Race car for a couple days 😜🏎
The standard seats look like the corsa half leathers
Have u heard of a hoover?
Heated seat will work?
Has the airbag light come on and if so do you have the tool to turn it off ?
You don't need a tool to turn these off. Once the problem is fixed it will go out by itself. Not like my vauxhall 🙄
Did a druggy own that car? With them spoons 😂 or maybe the previous owner enjoyed a yogurt in the car
Is it me or does it need a flywheel changing? Ya might need to have a listen but I could be hearing things tho.
Ben Crosbie no mate tensioner has had it

Can you do a headliner swop or paint it BLACK!!
Wtf why?
