Super excited to be getting on a plane for the first time in nearly 3 years! travelling is a bit different now and since I was travelling to Hong Kong , there was a series of documentation that we had to sort out before we can actually get on the plane.
But hey, everything was as smooooth as it can be. Got the chance to visit the new Amex Airport Lounge, and this is also the first time I've tried out the Cathay Pacific Premium Economy Seat!

Love ur triple hello in ur videos, always triple of that in the begining :) i like ur personality - to me it feels like ur confident but not overly confident, and also ur in control without rushing to talk/get things done (different from being slow paced). I like the vibe from you. There is a sense of mystery about you too - who u are, ur identity, etc... Love to know more about u apart from food & travel ;)
I can imagine how hard it was through all this. I work as ground staff at an airport in the United States so I can relate to some things. Lines for security is now returning to the way it was pre-pandemic, which I hate seeing the extremely long lines and dealing with. I hope you enjoy your experience with Cathay Pacific and in Hong Kong

I stumbled onto your vlog - and it's 2.5years since I did the same flight, my last flight out of Australia since then. I love the excitement, and I'm sure I'll be the same when I fly again - but the documents are such a pain for HK!

Hey, really happy for you and thanks for choosing Hong Kong! That's a place I really want to visit one day. One week in jail! hope you have brought a lot of entertainment. I miss so much this feeling of travelling, I enjoyed each minute of your airport and flight vlog! I just booked my flight to Japan yesterday. After what I saw in your video, I am now really considering to upgrade to Premium Economy. I am going in October and from what I can see, I don't think I will have to quarantine at all. Anyway, enjoy your week and I am very eager to see this Hong Kong trip.
Waste of money. Did 5 flights PE. Very limited value

Enjoy your trip! I did the OS trip last November to singapore…and had to do 3 paid PCR tests to travel, but it was totally worth it in the end to meet up with family and meet my niece for the first time :) looking forward to seeing all the foods you’re going to eat!

Crazy process. I did it 2 months ago and was in HKIA for 5.5 hours! Hoping your 7 days went quick (though enjoy the AC bc IT IS SO HOT OUTSIDE!)
5.5 hours? is it because you have to wait for the PCR result before you can leave??
@@JaniceFung Yeah, it was! It was ridiculous! However, I'm now just living my normal life outside of those quarantine walls. Hope that you are free soon if not already! Looking forward to seeing where you explore and happy to recommend some of my faves if you want:)

Are you off to hong kong ? You probably need more food then that for the seven days isolation but then you can also order panda eat
oh wow, that must have been an adventure you won't forget (but want to forget lol). hope you're 7 days goes by fast and the food is alright. My sister had...ummm well let's say the food left a lot to be desired.

Food at the lounge looked great, also the airplane food was a surprise, pity about the pie tho, you're braver than me ordering a pie on a plane! The side of mushy peas was a nice touch tho ill give them that. Deff show all the food you get in the Quarentine hotel. Id love to see how it differs from what they serve here. Normally when I travel across states here I get a sleeper cabin on a train, its a nice experience, your own room to yourself with a call button for a butler. You got lucky not having someone next to you on the plane, nice little bonus there. Excited to see all the HK food you're going to have.
the food in the quarantine hotel is actually quite decent! you'll see it in the next vlog :D

Travelling these days is a challenge with all the paper works, long queues, PCR test and hotel quarantine. May be it is the new norm for travelling from now on and we just have to get use to it. Enjoy your trip to HK.

Last time my hotel keycard didn’t work was in Hoian Vietnam. I knocked on the hotel door first then tried again, then it worked! It’s a Chinese superstition, ask your parents about it, after you come out of quarantine, not before.

I'm not looking forward to having to quarantine again, at least it's only a week rather than the 2 weeks I did last time round! If you like buffets then I recommend The Market at Hotel Icon in TST for their dinner service, absolutely amazing! Enjoy your stay and remember to eat everything! :))

Ok..i was wondering where you were headed that needed a hotel quarantine. HK makes sense. If I'm not wrong Singapore to Sydney doesn't need quarantine anymore right? I'm checking if a PCR test is still needed for flights there.
I hope you enjoy your experience in Hong Kong (despite the hotel restrictions) and stay safe. I enjoy your Sydney dining experiences. At least they drive on the same side of the road we do.

Did the sydney hong kong trip a few weeks ago... amex lounge is meh... stayed in there for 10 minutes and went straight to the qantas lounge instead!! The process to get out of the airport is quite ridiculous!! I was on the same flight... and didn't get to the hotel till 130am... quarantine hotel was just boring and unnecessary despite staying at one of the better ones (Kerry Hotel)... let's hope you have a decent time!
Which Quarantine hotel did you stay at?

My god HK still do the quarantine hotel? But hey at least you don’t have to stay there for 2 weeks+. I just traveled to Italy and Tel Aviv from the US and you just need a negative PCR testing when you arrive and your good to go.
Hopefully HK via China will lift these restrictions.
Make sure your wear a mask at all times in HK to avoid the fines not the virus.

Great to see you travelling again Janice. But why go to the one destination in Asia where you have to quarantine for a week? Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, you name it, and at worst you need to hang at ahotel until you get a negative result by email. I'm sure you have your reasons, but please tell us why you've taken the hard road?

I am going to HK next month. I wonder do you need to have a HK phone number while in HK phone number also need to download an app there. I don’t have a hk phone num and my Australian prepaid phone has no roaming to receive msg.
It gives me anxiety and panic attacks just thinking about flying under current circumstances. Enjoy every minute with your family!🙂

Nice video. Question - what are the entry requirements for the Amex Lounge in Sydney? At my local airport you have to be Platinum or higher and it's a very, very nice lounge inside, I always enjoy it. Are those the same requirements in Sydney? I hope you enjoy your quarantine.
No. It was misleading.
Halfway through the video she begins talking about the actual flight. Then after about four minutes of talking about the conditions of her Cathay premium economy flight she starts on the deplaning and hotel check in process. I watched her video for information on Cathay premium economy conditions. Only four minutes of the fourteen-minute video was devoted to that. Better idea to do another video about Australian air travel prep, boarding, deplaning, and hotel quarantine in Hong Kong in June 2022. And change the title of this video. It's not really focused on Cathay premium economy conditions.

I lost my virginity ( 1st international flight) get your mind out of the gutter hahaha...back in 2005 to the Philippines. It was nice back then but slowly more airline companies started having cheaper fares so eventually I moved on from Cathay Pacific.
I'm from HK, now living in Sydney. Sometimes I feel homesick but I'm so glad you're making a video about the HK trip. Miss home town. Take care and stay safe in Hk. and Enjoy your trip. Can't wait for your next video.

Miss Hong Kong. Cathay is flying again? I used to be a frequent flyer and Marco Polo Gold member but I fear they will be going out of business at the rate things are going there. Nice video though!
