    I keep my 'walking foot' on my machine for 95% of everything I sew, only change to 'zipper foot' for example if I am sewing on a zipper or piping, Love my 'Walking Foot'

    Nice explanation of a walking foot. I've never used one, but can see how helpful they'd be. You helped me give it some thought.

    It is great for matching fabrics. Such as plaids. It is easy to get the fabric out of alignment, when you don't use a walking foot. You also don't have to pin as often.

    Great tutorial.
    The one issue I find often is that the fabric is getting caught on the walking foot just behind the the plate and wants to bunch up unless I tug it through?

      Check your presser foot pressure, it might need to be adjusted

    What is the general tension, width of stitch (say for knits) and length? And why would mine cause a skip or two in the bobbin under-stitch?

    • @Mellysews

      It very much depends on your machine and fabric.

    Can you do zigzag with walking foot?

    • @Mellysews
      @Mellysews  Год назад +1

      It depends on the width of your stitch and the width of the needle hole in your specific presser foot.

    It’s a very useful article.I have a question.With walking foot , they supply one another bar with (like a V shape) attached another piece. It’s one connected pcs .
    I don’t know where it goes. With another u tube video, I see that but nobody saws where it goes, what is the use etc,
    Thanks in advance

      I don't understand your question. I'd suggest doing a google search for your specific machine manual.

      @@Mellysews there is a little stick/bar thing that comes separately with the walking foot. What is it used for?

    • @boxgirl51
      @boxgirl51 9 месяцев назад +1

      I think you are referring to a quilting bar, to measure the distance between rows of quilting, which you can adjust. I pay attention to the bar Instead of the needle while quilting .

    I got one for Christmas for my Janome! I haven’t used it yet though. I heard that you can’t sew fast with a walking foot, is that true?

    • @Mellysews

      It is not the fastest foot, it walks, not runs 🙂
