Thank you so much, I have a beautiful Bernina and I have used my Stitch Regulator and mastered Free Motion Quilting. However, I have never even thought of using decorative stitches!
I am about to start my own Stitch Journal.
Fabulous and thank you again, my quilting is taking a new direction!!

This feels so much more doable that jumping right into FMQ. I know they aren't the same things, but they're kind of related - like cousins on the quilting tree of life! Hope your break is going well, Angela!

Its definitely related! It doesn't matter how you finish a quilt as long as you finish it! My break is going well, I'll be back soon with more episodes :) hope you are having a great week!!!!!

Great video Angela. I've only finished two quilts so far, and used my walking foot for both. The first was a Jelly Roll "race" (mine was more of a "walk", as I'm a careful piecer and was a stickler for having straight seams). I just did 'parallel' wavy lines inside the borders from top to bottom of the quilt, and then did wavy lines following the lines of the borders, using one line for the 2.5" inner border, and three wavy lines in my 5" border coming to points in the corners. I have to say, it turned out great, much higher than my expectations. More importantly, my niece LOVED it (it was a gift for her graduation from University), and it encouraged me to try more dense quilting on smaller projects at first -- like my quilted zippered bag. Next challenge: FMQ (and I'll start with your FMQ challenge). THANKS for all you do to encourage and inspire us Beginner Quilters, Angela. You're the BEST! ~Diana from Toronto

Thank you for your tutorial, I am making my first quilt and just got my walking foot. I thought I could only use plain and zigzag stitches but doing things the way you do the sky is the limit. Now I need to make up my mind to find a stitch and rows that Can make or break my quilt. 😁Regards Rita.

I took both of Jackie' s walking foot classes and highly recommend them both. The nice thing is I can pull the classes up and refresh my memory for ideas whenever I'm ready to finish a quilt. She is very organized, and to the point and offers many creative options. If you like WF quilting, you'll want both of her classes.

That wavy line is my favorite WF quilting stitch. I’m sure that it is in every quilt I’ve ever made. It makes a nice texture after the quilt has been washed. Just thought I’d throw my $.02 in since this was something I actually knew about!! Love the videos. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for walking foot tips! It's actually the only kind of quilting I can do, but I watch your incredible FMQ all the time. You have such a talent for making empty look areas into WOW! I'm sure you'd die of boredom doing long straight lines, but that's my safe place. Love your videos--Girl, you rock :)

Hi Angela. Thanks for this. Question for you: my stitches get really tiny when using a walking foot to quilt. My set stitch length is 2.5. Why might cause this? Thank you. I learn so much from you. I'm taking one of your Craftsy classes too.

Really helpful tips! Now I just wish I could find a clear walking foot that would go on my Janome - I don't think the company has them. I'd like to see a little better where I'm going, though. Or maybe where I've been.

Sometimes different brand walking foots (feet?) work with different machines. I have a Brother machine but my walking foot is a Singer (it was on sale and I'm a sucker for a bargain). They should say what type of machine they are compatible with (ex. low shank) and at the end of the day you can buy one and try it and if it doesn't work, return it.

I have Bernette and Baby lock machines. Both with walking feet leave different gaps under the feet. The bernette leaves very little space under the walking foot, where the baby lock leaves more space which fir me makes it easier to quilt overall. Why are there such differences in spacing under the walking feet?
