  • In 1986 I took some photos of Old Soar Manor in Kent, a Grade I listed building and scheduled Ancient Monument that dates from an incredible 1290. I have come back in 2024 to see what has changed and share some details of this wonderful, very, very old building! I will try and highlight some interesting features and provide a bit of history, as well as some visiting tips.
I will also show how the listing by the National Trust has changed for this property by looking back at the 1986 Members' Handbook .Please stay to the end for all the detail I hope you enjoy, please like and subscribe. Thank you for watching Eclectic Experience change seen through images. Old Soar is roughly 9 miles by car from Sevenoaks It is a remaining part of a mediaeval knight’s house built in 1290. There was a grand hall attached to the building but this was demolished in 1780 and replaced by the current adjoining farm house which is privately owned and not accessible to the public.
