Serving life in prison for murdering their parents, Lyle and Erik Menendez speak out in this documentary examining the shocking crime and ensuing trials.
55 defence victims ,photos taken by dad ,other victims of the dad and ur telling me the boys were lying, and not to mention the judge not letting them talk about their abuse during the trail is just plain insanity
And the father has been accused of rape by another man who was a minor at the time.
Hello what the f*** more do you need.
I definitely think they deserve another trial or at the very least parole.
I don't think these are murderers but at the time we didn't understand PTSD, the effects of sexual abuse and especially the effects on men.
Trauma internalized can come out in very bad ways like violence.
I get what you're saying, but it doesnt change the fact that they chose to murder their parents instead of bring them to justice.
Abuse excuse was BS....they killed their parents for the money and they got greedy.....thats the truth

exactly- people have to understand the effects it will have physically AND mentally, some may say that it was all self defence and i genuinely don’t disagree. the system did them wrong.
Right but there’s only one thing that’s worse than those crimes. And that’s murder
I hate people who correlate having wealth and a “perfect” family image as if it means abuse of any sort can’t be going on behind closed doors. nobody just wakes up and does that to someone who has giving them everything unless there was something hidden over the years and they grew out of it, they did this to their parents together meaning both parents knew something was going on but like abusive families do (wealthy or not) “what’s goes on in the house house stays in this house” and “no one gonna believe you..” it’s so common it’s sick. free them.
They should be free immediately
@@jdl2180 why ..
Lyle and Erik did. They had a massive number of options, but simply chose murder. Period.
@@jdl2180really
@@James-cz5hfseriously? If you can even imagine HALF of what it’s like being in their shoes, you wouldn’t be saying that, no way. I heard only a smidge of what they went through, and no way would I say that they had options after all that. It’s all so messed up. Not saying it was right, but given the circumstances, from their perspective, it was a matter of life or death. None of us have the right to say what should have been done. They did what they felt was necessary.
I’m confused…if this is supposed to present the brothers in a better light, why is Pam Bozanich there???? She insists till this day that the brothers made up their abuse story….The woman is so ignorant, it drives me crazy when they invite her to participate in the documentaries about the brothers…..
Because they did make it up, they were liars. They brutally murdered their parents and then they went on a massive spending spree. They don’t sound like too sad kids to me.
Because hopefully this is a proper documentary aka presents both sides. You're used to the propaganda that most documentaries have become.
It may not be the intent to show anyone in a particular light but to cover the entire situation and story. Which is why you would have people from all sides of it included.

Their parents were evil, the evidence proves it, and last year one of the guys from the singing group "Menudo" came out and said their father drugged and SA him too. These guys told everyone around them who they thought would help about the abuse that took place, but they were failed by everyone.
It’s a whole documentary on peacock about it, the guy described what happened in detail, it’s called Menendez vs Menudo I believe
Hope ricky martin would talk that would make a huge difference I believe 🙏
Who did they tell?
@@m.d.5050 So if you proclaim to be evil, it's okay to murder them? I hope you always get good service in restaurants.
I hope it might finally convince everyone that the parents were far worst then the two brothers.
The monsters were the parents, not the children. The father was a disgusting p3d 0, that is known now, and the mother hated them and blamed them for the father's emotional distance. There is also a documentary on Netflix called I Killed My Father about a physically and emotionally abused boy who did not even get any prison time. The story of the Menendez brothers happened in the 90s, a time when sexual abuse between men was not talked about, much less by fathers to children. I am a psychologist and the damage caused by sexual, physical and emotional abuse is deeply harmful, so much so it can lead you to commit a crime like the one the brothers committed. It seems to me that with the evidence today they should have a new trial.
I agree with you 100℅

if gypsy rose is out so should lyle and erik be 🫶
The same with the Khachaturyan sisters.
Ha. Last time I checked Gypsys boyfriend was the murderer and is still in jail. And Gypsys Moms guilt wasn’t just speculation.
@@cloudgary7596she manipulated her boyfriend who has autism into killing her mom. She helped plan the murder so if Gypsy is free then the brothers should be too
I’ve been studying criminology a few years past year couple students and I decided to do a deep kind of gypsy case because she was being let out. I assume she was a few victim in the fax. Her medical information has been leaked as well as recently autopsy has been.. I watched the trial interrogation the text messages between her and Nick. Gypsy should’ve never been Mendez actually should Another trial. Gypsies boyfriend neck absolutely deserves fair trial he never got one. Long story short, she blatantly wire the interrogation alone shows how much she lies and manipulates. Text messages she sent to Amanda, who is on the spectrum level two autism with mental health disabilities was receiving a disability check with absolutely sickening what She did him. He literally thought that He was saving her life in reality. She could’ve easily walked out that door with her and ran away. She pleaded with her several times to run away with her And she wouldn’t take an answer. She planned it for over two years, manipulating and gaslighting this Man she was 23 he was about 25. His mind is literally a 15 year old level. Anyone knows anything about autism is that they have extreme difficulty lying And they’re more easier to manipulate. Specially, if these level two, if you’re level two that you need assistance for the rest of your life, you need someone to guide you and help you.
She lied over and over again with how he treated him sick And she lied about
Nick as well making him seem he was really disturbed when reality she was the one that was into all that dark stuff and she pulled him into it she did that before with her last boyfriend before nick.
Also, her mother never medically abused her. Her mother was a liar and a con artist like she is in a grifter, and she lied about her daughters, illness and exaggerated her financial aid. Free vacations and gifts that’s not Medical abuse.
She actually does have a chromosome deficiency disorder which explains the procedure she had done and when you take a deep medical record, she only had three in invasive surgery and one muscle biopsy. That’s not much. She did have a lot of tests because she had a lot of symptoms and at the time she wasn’t diagnosed with the chromosome deficiency disorder so her mother brought all her mother did was try to capitalize on their Health issues.
People have to stop blindly believing anything gypsy Rose says she has so many inconsistencies in her story. She had access to a phone access to the Internet, the original, no chains or handcuffs. She was never tied to a bed. Labors have stated time and time again anonymously the gypsy was the one who offered snap her mother when she was looking and dynamic was the opposite.
It just way too much information to go over. Nicholas is serving gypsies time and Nick should’ve gotten the plea deal. His mother was so distraught she ended up turning into substance Taking her life away in year 2021. She has destroyed more than one person life, and she continues to hurt people with her actions to this day even with her last husband she has a pattern of using and discarding people as soon as they’re no longer abused, those are some of the most dangerous people.
I want to check out Becca scoops channel and look at all the videos about gypsy Rose I plead with everyone to have open mind.
She breaks down all the evidence brilliantly
Her ex-boyfriend Nichols, who she used never ever received a fair trial evidence was excluded from his trial just like the Mendez brothers people are advocating For another trial and gypsy desperately doesn’t want that because she’s so afraid of people finding out in those text messages also exposing The truth of her medical condition as well as the video she sent nick. She calculated every single step.
Anyone who Who has a loved one with autism or a loved one with mental health issues and disabilities should be outrage for what she did to him..
Absolutely
I know they killed both their parents but life in prison was excessive. They should have been given a minimum of 25 and been able to serve half. They went through so much trauma at such a young age. They should be given a 2nd chance.

To be honest the truth is that they dont deserve anything at all. The parents were the grown adults and lyle and erik were abused by these monsters. Exactly. The mother was the enabler, and also verbally abused them in other ways. She hated them, she called them psychos and sociopaths, she regret having them and often referred to them as "the ruiner of lives". She was too obsessed with her man to care about them. Agreed, she should be in jail at this point for the damage she did
If this case had happened today, I would imagine they’d be treated with a little more compassion. They were repeatedly r*ped by their own father ffs… ‘Why didn’t they just move out’ people ask. Well when you reach an age when you realise the trauma that’s been inflicted on you and is still being inflicted on you, I can only imagine that eventually you would see red. Murder is obviously never the answer and they shouldn’t have done what they did, but context is important here, they dragged them into those court rooms, forced them to relive the most traumatic and embarrassing details, then locked them up and threw away the key without a care. This case needs to be re looked at and these men should be free, they’ve served their time and then some, at least let them attempt to live the rest of their lives with some peace and freedom. Locking them up for life is letting their abuser win, it sickens me.
people clearly don’t understand that it’s hard to think to stand on your own when your parents have been holding your hand and making you dependent on them all your life. also lyle had already left the house and i believe he was only coming back for erik and erik planned to move out but the idea was shut down by his father
Children are shaped by the world they are born into and brought up in. And in such a world, parents are like gods, exercising absolute control over the lives of their kids. I remember another case where a guy who was being SA’d by his mother when he was a kid mentioned that at the time he thought it was normal and that all parents did that with their kids. Point being, you can’t come at cases of severe prolonged abuse expecting the victims to behave like normal rational human beings with normal healthy upbringings. The psychological consequences and implications need to be considered.

Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as "comfort buys".
It makes sense they were trying to fill their lives with things like expensive cars, watches and clothes, etc but therapy wasn't work for Erik so he told his therapist what they did and the rest was history.
Exactly. According to their friends and family, 700.000 isn't a lot for 6-7 months. Also, they spent the money on 2 businesses and a private tennis coach. Someone who kills for money doesn't spend money on that sort of thing.
Erik explains in his own words on The Mendez Murders - Erik tells all that his mom was depressed and that Lyle and his mom would bond by shopping together it was their thing. It’s what made them happy. They shopped all the time and it wasn’t something out of the normal for them. The court just showcased it as if it was.

@@Lyoko42o The NBC limited series Law & Order: True Crime was a more accurate depiction of them and who they were as traumatized and conflicted human beings and not evil murderers who were despicable to others.
@@davidfilmexpert I'm asking because I haven't see the netflix docu Monsters
this is a great example of no matter how good people’s lives may seem we just don’t know the behind the scenes 🙃
I'm so tired of Pam being in every god damn docu about the brothers
The real monster was Jose
I really want them to get out. The series may of been not 100% accurate but it gave me way more a perspective & it definitely showed how much abuse they went through. The psychological abuse would definitely affect them to the point of us being confused why they acted the way they did. We cannot judge.
No. Self defense is when you have someone attack you and you defend yourself. Not shooting your parents in cold blood while they are simply watching tv
@@Boneymaloney7 you would never know unless you were in their position
The one thing that makes me believe the boys about the abuse is that they told someone about it when they were young. Yes, it's quite possible for someone to be a psychopath and lie about being abused after the fact to try to get away with murder, but I find it hard to believe that they would start lying about it at such a young age and keep the lie up for so long. It seems that they told multiple people about the abuse in some way over the years. And didn't one of the boys from the boy band Menudo also say that the father abused him too? I mean, it seems like the father was in fact abusive.
At the very least, I think the jury should have been able to hear the abuse evidence and decide for themselves if they believed it during the actual trial and not just during sentencing.
Oh man this was so difficult to watch. If these boys truly went thru this.... I have no words. And the lady that played Leslie Abrahamson WOW she was amazing!!
I will love to see her again
Those guys saved other kids… you know what I mean.
And dogs too
I like how they’re doing this right after the show dropped.
i’ll scream they deserve a new trial until i die
Thank goodness they put this out. The “monsters” show just wasn’t right.
I haven't seen it yet, what was so bad about it??
@@Lyoko42o I felt like it didn't portray them properly and it insinuated an incestuous relationship between the brothers. Also, based on what I've seen from their court trial videos, it was inaccurate.
They don't "suggest an incestuous relationship". If you watch the show you'll see many viewpoints and the show shows scenes that are an imagining of the person telling it. The brothers were of course very close and they both were abused and also Lyle abused Erik. Spoiler alert: the "incestuous" scene was a dreamed up theory by the Vanity Fair writer where he mused whether the brothers could've had a secret and that's why they killed their parents. He then changes his mind after Lyle testified.
@@japes7the problem is that the writer never had such theory…Dominik Dune never wrote such a thing….So why would Ryan Murphy put this scenario out?? It is just wild….I believe that was Ryan Murthy’s gay fantasy and nothing else….it’s just not right, especially towards 2 people who suffered sexual abuse…
Erik and Lyle, you deserve the best in life. I know what you both have been through, I went through the same in my childhood. Please keep holding on because many people are on your side, we are still hoping and praying for your guys' freedom. I have supported and defended you since I was a teenager and will continue. @@kristalefler3312It’s unbelievable, isn’t it? These guys are where they are and we as a society are where we are because of morons like this who write such comments….
THE TRUTH WILL BE HEARD!!! Excited to see the REAL version of this case being told after Ryan Murphy chose to demonise those poor brothers. This is giving me chills and goosebumps!!!!
hahahaha
I feel as though Erik comes across quite sympathetic in that series actually, and the show definitely showcases the alleged cycle of abuse
I don't know what show you were watching.. The story made me so sad for the bothers. It was more frustration with the way that they made mistakes in the trial and basically messed up their second trial. I don't see how they were demonized. They didn't look like that to me. If anything it was showing how they were demonized back then due to the spending etc.
You're gonna sit here and tell me that those 2 boys killed their parents LIKE THAT for money...? A murder that erratic, unplanned, and chaotic...all for money? When they knew they were out of the will?
If their parents murder was truly premeditated, the WAY in which they killed their parents, and the way they ACTED, BEHAVED, and the stories they told FOLLOWING the murder would've been planned and smoothed out all in their favour.
Anyone with common sense can see that those boys struggled...and I have no doubt in my mind that they killed their parents out of fear and self-defense
That women is pissing me off, doesn't she seem Menendez + Menudo: boys betrayed? I mean how many how to come forth for her to shit her mouth put her stupid pride a side and see the truth thag the real victims here, are and always were Erik and Lyle, what if their parents killed them? What would she day than, do you think their parents would go to jail no cuz Jose would just pay themselves off, and he would just keep on r*ping innocent kids while his wife Katti would look other way like she has always done, I really hope this will be the very documentary that sets them free once and for all, they've suffered enough and they deserve a chance for a better life, after watching two doc and hearing and seeing Erik and Lyle I see and know who are the victims and who are the monsters. I'm curious why all the doc don't have Lesley and also has spoke to Erik and Lyle after they were sentenced? Anyway I really feel for them and hope and pray thag they get the justice they deserve and get a chance for a better life a normal life if this even possible after what they went through with their parents. Free The Menendez Brothers
Based on the information that was released at the time of the original trial, I thought they were guilty of first degree murder and I believed the whole narrative of the prosecution.
Three, however many decades later now…enough has been discovered about their monstrous father, and their sorry excuse for a mother, I’ve done a complete 180. I wish all of this had been brought up at that time, that people had spoken up then.
Everyone just believed the narrative of these ‘greedy little rich boys’.
They 100% deserve a new trial.
'Free the Menendi'
Hearing this fucken killed me
Hahahha same 😂😂😂
2 things can be true they were greedy as F*** and they were also being SA. The question is do they deserve to be in prison their whole lives or be rehabilitated and join the rest of society?
please these men need to be freed!!!!! this is insane
Pamela Bozanich needs to grow up and just admit she was wrong. Society has evolved since the 90's, so why hasn't she?
Yeah, she is insufferable and like a fossil when it comes to mindset.
Because she has a massive ego…apparently she kept a photo of Kitty Menendez and she still thinks of her every now and then….Boy, I wouldn’t wish Pam to be my mother…She is probably very abusive towards her kids…
Latest released show on Lyle and Eric 'Monsters' was one of the worst executed Netflix show. Hopefully this documentary will be good considering Netflix makes good doc . That show was pure crap , worst written screenplay . Disappointed with show writing considering follower of this case .
It was actually really good you’re just too brainwashed to look at any perspective other than you’re own, we’ll never know what really went on in that house. The show doesn’t lean one way or another it just explores all possibilities.

Is the prosecutor for real? How STILL does she believe its ALL lies? Like what on. Earth
They are convicted murderers in prison, sure they can tell their story to anyone who would listen, but what’s this about them having rights? Cold blooded massacring is wrong in a civilized society and illegal. They’re lucky they didn’t get the death penalty.
Dude what? Did you even bother to watch the trailer like they were ABUSED, 🍇ed, by their dad and their mom just watched in silence without intervening
It's crazy to think they have NO happy childhood memories. The parents were sick to core.

I really hope that people finally open their eyes and see that these poor boys have been victims for years. Putting them behind bars for more than 30 years is just unfair. We get that what they did was wrong and killing someone should never be an option, but it was a situation of: being killed or saving yourself. They deserved their jail time but now they have to be set free. It's just unfair at this point. Justice has to be served.
“If these were the menendez sisters, they wouldn’t have been in custody.” SAY IT LOUDER!
They claim to be the only ones who know the whole story. Why should we believe them? What difference does the "whole story" make? We know with absolute certainty that they blew their parents to bits, then lied about it.
the Menendez brothers’ spending on luxury items after their parents’ murders could have been influenced by emotional factors like stress, guilt, or a desire to cope with the trauma of what had happened. After committing such an extreme act, they may have been experiencing intense psychological turmoil, and extravagant spending could have been a way to distract themselves or numb those feelings. People under high levels of stress or emotional distress sometimes engage in impulsive or reckless behaviors as a coping mechanism.
Finally. Hope this can show the true
I knew they were going to drop a documentary soon after they did the same with the Jeffery Dahmer show and had conversations with a killer come out soon after the show
The brothers aren't happy. The creators twisted it on purpose.
I have hope in this, to be the REAL truth and NOT projecting Lyle as the crazy hyper monster.
i just think its crazy cus you look at the gypsy rose case who went through abuse from her mom but when young men who just so happened to be well off step forward they get completely different treatments.
I see your point. Gypsy Rose didn't actually carry out the murder; she planned it, and she did her time. Although I'll readily agree that, like the Menendez case, it's a sick thing that our society is holding her up like some celebrity that should be celebrated and rooted on. It's very bizarre, but that's modern-day American society for you...
Just bring back Mindhunter already
Terrible justice system They should never be in jail in the first place
Was I watching a completely different show or what?. The series did quite a good job at portraying the boys as victims of abuse. Now I think no one will ever truly truly know what happened but the brothers but for what it’s worth the show makes it a point that it’s very plausible the boys were, if fact, abused. It also explains why anyone would think they weren’t as well. It was unbiased. Did the brothers lie about a lot, yes. Were the brothers abused? Probably. Were they abused and also lied about a lot of other things? Probably. The only undeniable truth we know is we will never know 100% what happened. But the show did not paint them as cold blooded murderers like these comments are trying to say they did.
My takeaway too, but you need to watch the entire series. I think the people that are getting upset only watched the first few episodes. The show is well done
@@tonicalderon700 maybe that’s what it is. I thought the show was great truly.
Exactly. I don't know what these "demonizing" comments are. Probably haven't seen up to ep 3 or 4... The show starts with a lack of info. I thought it was great and really told their story to many new people and I think their stories of abuse hit hard. Of course there are other viewpoints shown like how the media spun things and how the trial was messed up.. But yeah good show.
Watching the show now and I think they did a very good job portraying them. We might not know there true motive. However murdering the parents is just crazy regardless of the abuse or not.
And then staging it as a mob hit while spending dads money
Free The Menendez Brothers 😢 They are the victims
There’s a petition with over 300k signatures it can help the brothers a lot
I thinj they had served enough. If the parents were still alive, these 2 would have never been able to speak about what the parents had done to them, they would have never been to prison BUT THEY FOR SURE would have been drg addts homeless that you would see out on the street, or worst.. again, they served enough yrs and what they had done was justified.. doing something like that rips innocent souls apart that would be so hard to put back to pieces and admit it, NOT EVERYONE is strong enough to reset their lives to normalcy after experiencing losing your innocent souls from the day you had a memory.
That prosecutor is annoying af . Why is she even on the documentary we all know the truth . If Netflix is gonna tell the story they better to tell everything.
ik i'm so pissed off she's in it. Like she says she doesn't like talking about it but she has been on over 15 shows/documentaries on the menendez brothers.
A proper documentary should cover both sides of the argument.
@@JR-ut2ne but not with her please…she is clinically insane……
I absolutely believe there was disgusting abuse going on in that home but at the end of the day they killed their parents, shooting them multiple times and lying about it. They panicked when the will was being changed and wanted to keep their privileged lifestyle
I can’t say definitely weather their claims are true. But if they are life without parole is excessive. The abuse was so bad that phycologists in an analysis said they had the emotional age of a 9 and 12 year old. Abuse can lead to these types of crimes when they don’t see a way out
Sadly, Kitty and Jose had their faces blown off. Therefore, they can't defend themselves. Make no mistake the brothers are 100% guilty. Two lazy bums who wanted to "cash in" the easy way. They initially denied any involvement and went on a spending spree. Later, they made up the LAME abuse story. Pathetic!
The prosecutor pissed me off
Let’s hope this Documentary tells the truth
