    Personally, I think blue or purple coloring or highlights look FAR better on dark or black hair. Somehow it just seems to make the look just "pop". Ur doin' it rite!

    When you get back to faded green throw a permanent brown with a red undertone or even a burgundy then give it a day or so and put the arctic fox purple back over. (Red cancels green on color wheel so youll have a pretty base to fade back to

    When I went to rinse the dye out, it just kept running out. I spent 30 min or so rinsing. Will it just continue to wash out as the days go by?
    Btw, you remind me of Raven from Teen Titans !!

      It depends on the temperature you're doing the rinse (and future washes) at. If it's too warm, the pores open up and the dye comes out. I rinse and wash mine at the absolute coolest I can stand it. It's only after probably 6-7 washes will I stop seeing a noticeable amount of dye in the shower.
      Something that helps getting the initial dye out is a light shampoo. And also knowing that things are going to be very much that color for a bit. My neck and ears will be purple for roughly a week - after the first wash, very much so. Less so after the second, and so on. It runs off easily enough, but it will linger a bit. I have a black pillowcase so I don't have head shaped purple spots on our other ones. I abstain from lighter shaded shirts for at least a couple washes
      Thanks :)

    My tip is to put Vaseline on my ears, around my face and neck. It helps to not stain the skin and I wear disposable gloves.

    Really late but i saw you responded to relatively recent comments too so I'll try, my hair are medium/long, really layered with the longer layer being at the level of my chest, do you think that one 4 ounces bottle could do or should i take the 8 ounces one?

    • @CassEris

      With my length and density of hair, I use ~260g/dye. That's a little over 9oz.
      Now, my husband applies the dye, and may be applying it on the thicker side of things. I could probably get by with a lighter application, but after many iterations, we've had the best showing from this amount.
      So, if you have hair that makes the hair stylist go "holy shit that's a lot of hair," you may need 2 big bottles at that length.

    should you wash your hair or leave it dirty before dying it?

    • @CassEris
      @CassEris  4 года назад +5

      I think for this freshly washed, conditioner-free, and dry hair is the best starting point.

    Try putting Vaseline on your ears first to avoid the dreaded blue-ear situation.

      I tend to use conditioner which helps for the dying phase, but for the first week or two after the dye, there's purple everywhere. My ears, my nails, my neck. I've switched to using black pillowcases so I don't have to see the dye on the regular ones. Thanks for the suggestion, though :)

    I know that you dont need to use developer but if I do will it make the color last longer?

    • @CassEris
      @CassEris  2 месяца назад +1

      I imagine it wouldn't help any, if anything it might hurt the dye? Like, chemically mess with it and possibly turn out weird.

    I’m about to use this dye, I don’t want the purple too dark , does it darken the longer it’s left on? Asking about purple rain

    • @CassEris
      @CassEris  Год назад +3

      I don't think it necessarily darkens like that with time. It isn't an oxidative process. I imagine if you didn't leave it on long enough, it would possibly be patchy.
      I'm pretty sure they make a white or something to dilute the color down... Yep, they do - arcticfoxhaircolor.com/collections/color/products/arctic-mist.

      Not that useful anymore but you can also just dilute it with normal conditioner, or at least I did a couple of times with purple AF to have a lilac and it worked wonderfully
