Also the speakers are good on both device with the Surface Laptop having more bass or clarity than the MacBook Air M1
The screens are really gorgeous to look at but the Surface Laptop has Touchscreen with Pen Stylus support that makes it good to paint on it
The battery life is a bit better on the Macbook Air M1

I think you are a bit behind what is present today.
M1 can run almost any intel app via Rosetta 2 emulation
And now most software is ported to arm as well so it runs smoothly and better than intel
