Amazing line, the love for MOTU and their original concept is so evident. What is not so visible is their quality: if you have a chance to hold them in your hands you will see for yourself how gorgeous they are!! I received my wave 1 two weeks ago and couldn't be happier.
I really don’t understand the negative comments I’m seeing. If these aren’t for you, cool. But to call them knock-offs or Dollar Tree toys or cheap Chinese sweat shop toys is utterly ridiculous. Do they share an aesthetic with MOTU? Sure! But that’s the point. And when speaking to Emiliano at Power-Con, he was the first to admit these were born from their love of MOTU. So “homage” is definitely the right word. And if you think these are cheaply made, you clearly haven’t paid attention to a lot of current retail toys. To this day, retail TMNT figures lack tons of paint apps and so many figures from various lines (including expensive collector lines) have loose joints, can barely stand or can’t hold onto their weapons properly. These feel solid and strong, have tons of painted apps/details, stand perfectly, have no loose joints, and have no trouble holding onto their weapons. Not to mention that the helmets actually come off, fit tightly, and look natural on the figures’ heads. Love these and can’t wait for Wave 2!
Wow. These are very well done. I will say they are even better than the vintage MOTU figures. Great sculpt, great deco, great pain apps. You can see the effort and attention to detail. Excellent job!
These look so cool!! I just wish the price point wasn't so high...I get it though, boutique figures usually are higher priced to justify production costs...I might pick up a couple of these. These guys would look great next to my few Zoloworld figures in my case.
Got to say nicely designed figures, look really well made too. The one thing I like is the two sides, good & evil fighting over the armour. That is a good touch to the toyline's backstory. Well I wish the makers of this line all the best.
It's not often a "vintage inspired" / "MOTU inspired" line captures my attention, but I really like these. I've been following the long development, and they've turned out even better looking that expected. Many vintage-style lines have some good ideas but come off looking kinda iffy, but these look good enough to be "the real thing". I'm a big early-mythos MOTU fan and am tempted by a few of these; in fact I'm tempted by them more than some of the more recent Origins offerings!
Thank you! And we just started! We have a lot of designs ready, so the more successful these are, the better the chaces of expanding the line with a lot of cool and new concepts :)
Opened them earlier today. Excellent paint apps. Figures feel pretty sturdy. Only complaint is the BAF had one leg that was hard to get to stay, plus the boots are pretty loose on him for me. Happy they were able to release these after the initial issues with Mattel. Despite the changes, these are definitely going to help fill the Preternia side of things for my vintage collection.
Interesting if you followed this line for a certain amount of time. Even if the plan was always going to be to expand to its own thing, the rebranding & redesigns were not just a decision to go in a different direction. Wave 1 was about to start Pre-Orders when they were forced to Shut Down (If you remember this all in real time, that Snag was oddly close to the death of Mark Taylor - who approved of and was slated to Contribute designs to- the line). Still, cool to see that they were able put these out; and the figures for the upcoming waves show potential for them to Come-Into-Their-Own.
They look great. Designed with a lot of love. The Jack Kirby reminesence is gorgeous. Also I think there is a bit of ethnical Design there especially on Onitor and Ka Ram.
I really like these -- more so once I had them in hand. They are so sturdy and feel playable the way toys are supposed to. Sometimes indie/designer toys for adult collectors feel fragile & made out of brittle or gummy plastic. These are just solid toys. I also like that the articulation and sculpting puts them firmly between vintage MOTU & MOTU origins. I've displayed them with the few vintage MOTU I still own and Origins and they look at home on both shelves. Liked them so much I went and pre-ordered wave 1.5 via BBTS as soon as I'd finished playing with them. After seeing Wave 2 -- I'm feeling like I'm all in on this line. I hope they're able to keep the colors bright & vibrant and the toys solid and the homage vibe without being a knock-off.
I appreciate the passion and attention to details that went into creating these figures and their universe. I will be cherry-picking them as not all of them appeal to me (I love Ka-Rem, Yondara and the red monster guy and have requested them for Christmas). I wish we got more insights into the backstory straight ahead instead of having to wait for a mini comic that will only be available with some of the toys. This line needs more world building to be even more appealing! And FYI these are far from being dollar store toys.
Although I don't collect anything modern (except some Origins) this line is much better than Masterverse or New Eternia, I would definitely dare to buy the The Legend of Dragonore line, stay heavy and blessings! 🤘😎

Hey Dan good to hear from you. I think these figures are probably closest to the Motu line. The other line the last world of the warlord or something like that is also similar to Motu.

love these guys, been following their development for quite some time now, wave 2 looks really promising too. Also i don´t think Barbaro is meant to be pronounced like that, with the american accent
While I love this stuff, I wish someone would make a line of these that were not intended for the collectors market. My son is 4 years old and has gotten into MOTU and I have Orgins figures for his Christmas this year. The origins line is still pricey and toy flippers have driven up prices online.
@Pixel-dan Walmart and Dollar Tree have lines of toys that are exclusive to their stores and are essentially knock offs. If they would do this for the 5.5 inch figures as an homage to MOTU, Remco (Beast Warriors), skull force, etc at a $5-$8 price point I think those would sell. I know my son love to play with the toys he has already. He makes up stories and does different voices for the characters. I would rather him do that than be on a tablet all the time.
Where are all the rest of the vintage Origins at? No preorders or anything. I wish Mattel would focus on the Origin’s as much as they are on the Turtle crossover crap. 😣
Beautiful figures. They really give me a nastalgic buzz. Nice that the females got some booty. Price is what gets me. I get that they're a smaller company and hope that when they grow that these come down a bit
Keep in mind that if you buy the whole wave you get an additional figure! $210/6 = $35 each, but $210/7 is $30 each. Or if you preordered the wave like I did, it was $30 each and the 7th figure makes them under $26. Well well well worth that price!
@@Pixel-dan I mostly wanted that "Vikor" He-Man prototype figure they changed, and was hoping this would be a chance to get high quality re-creations of some of those early concepts. The new sculpts and direction after the cease and desist from Mattel look really great for sure, but they don't fill that niche I was hoping for.
The problem I have with these figures is that the designs and characters are not as cool as MOTU. I know it's "inspired by" but even still, the villain is not as cool as Skeletor, not even close and neither are the other characters. The toeless boots on Barbaro, what are they thinking. I would pick the vintage He-Man over the new articulated stuff any day of the week, and I'd pick it over these Dragonore figures as well. It's funny you pointed out that these could even be played with. You would hope an action figure could be played with by a child. Our figures were well loved and still stand the test of time. I don't foresee this line spawning a hit cartoon, a movie adaptation or lasting for 40 years.
They don’t look like dollar store toys at all. They are extremely high quality, sturdy, and crisply painted. It’s disappointing to hear people throw that description around so much. (I’ve heard it about Origins, BST AXN, and others too and it just isn’t true).
They look great! However my first barrier is the price? Come on, 35 bucks? Really? When they did come out with remco stuff back in the day, they were half the price of motu. Thats why we bought them. They were fillers. There was no comic or show, but didnt mind picking them upat a grocery store for 1.99. Motu were 4.99 in 82. Except kay bee they were 5.99. Warlords quickly went on clearence and i got them for .99 at kaybee. Remember the red marker price adjust? Im looking at you robotech and eagle force. I loved cheap toys, which is what i had a lot of. The second barrier is no comic at least. I know shows are expensive. The articulation isnt a deal break but just exasperates the other barriers of entry. And already with the repaints before even the second line. Really hate repaints. No for me, just to many cons. They do look great though, just not 200 bucks a wave great and story. Even a mini comic would have been enough.
@@Pixel-danI understand that, but back in the day, wasn't Remco or and of the people making the "knockoffs" small brands? They were still less than the main line brands.
I wish it would work that way @@Mastabas2112 . Unfortunately, it is the economy of scale. Even Remco was making hundreds of thousands of his toys. We are doing a handful (can't disclose the numbers, but not "many" thousands. The price difference is mostly due to that. We'd be glad to be able to produce 10k of them and rice them 20, but we aren't that popular yet ;)
I think they've already jumped through that hoop. The whole reason the figures were redesigned was because "somebody" halted their production and forced changes.
Mattel absolutely already knows about this Line. It was initially called "Lords Of Power". There was an abrupt stop right as they were set to begin Pre-Orders and they had to re-design & rebrand. But yeah, they might have to be careful; that Boutique Company pass or whatever was worked out may not hold since their distribution appears to be less chaotic than several Origins Releases.
It's a small company that doesn't have the funding for massive safety testing that a normal at-retail toy maker does. By stating that they are for "Adult Collectors" gives them a lot of leeway. Not saying that these things are dangerous in any way but they aren't something intended to be handed to a 3 year old.
Pretty much what @@JAbell1966 said. Producing toys for kids is a diffeent beast. Plus, without media support, we wouldn't be able to sell the numbers needed to support a kid toyline.
What are your thoughts on these!?

Keep in mind that if you buy the whole wave you get an additional figure! $210/6 = $35 each, but $210/7 is $30 each. Or if you preordered the wave like I did, it was $30 each and the 7th figure makes them under $26. Well well well worth that price!
i did not open mine not until they debut castle dragonore
They are cool figures. Looks like they were made in the 80s.
Mission accomplished! Thank you!
I much preferred them when it was originally going to be Lords of Power. They look really fun still, but personally I am no longer interested.
Just over the name change?
@@Pixel-dan I mostly wanted that "Vikor" He-Man prototype figure they changed, and was hoping this would be a chance to get high quality re-creations of some of those early concepts. The new sculpts and direction after the cease and desist from Mattel look really great for sure, but they don't fill that niche I was hoping for.
Did anyone notice that, this is Conan the Adventurer - as Barbaro and Greywolf as Ka-Rem 🙂
I saw that, too!
🤫
Wow
Прикольно 👍🏻
You don't think they're as cool?
These look like Dollar Store toys! The only one i did like was Ka Rem..the blue guy.
Ouch
They don’t look like dollar store toys at all. They are extremely high quality, sturdy, and crisply painted. It’s disappointing to hear people throw that description around so much. (I’ve heard it about Origins, BST AXN, and others too and it just isn’t true).
@@michaelwarwick6412 either your being paid to say that...or you need glasses. These are crap
Small brand. Inflation.
We'd be glad to be able to produce 10k of them and rice them 20, but we aren't that popular yet ;)
to be honest I think mattel might sue the creators of these toys
I think they've already jumped through that hoop. The whole reason the figures were redesigned was because "somebody" halted their production and forced changes.
Mattel absolutely already knows about this Line. It was initially called "Lords Of Power". There was an abrupt stop right as they were set to begin Pre-Orders and they had to re-design & rebrand. But yeah, they might have to be careful; that Boutique Company pass or whatever was worked out may not hold since their distribution appears to be less chaotic than several Origins Releases.
Not going to happen, we have already talked to them. And check out the Mattel vs Remco sentence from 1984 :)
Looks like Conan
It does
Why does it say "Adult Collectors" on the package. These aren't for kids?
Are any toys made for kids anymore?
They can be for kids. They are nice a sturdy, and feel good in hand. But they are priced pretty high for a kids toy.
Toeless boots ruin the look of Barbaro, other than that great looking figures!
He was originally planned to be barefoot. I prefer this to full boots. It's a good compromise, and better than sandals!
They look cool. I might only just get the main character
Yeah if they had the more modern articulation I'd probably be down but pass for me .
Too bad!
I got mine a couple of weeks again. They look very good, but to me MOTU is still the Best.
