Ok, I am using Photoshop CC 2017 and I don't know if that's got something to do here but for me you failed to mention one step. By personal backgrounds I try it and it works and I succeeded. Again, I am using Photoshop CC 2017 so, I don't know if this got something to do with it, so I won't dare to mention the step, but for those with experience with this software, maybe you know what I'm talking about.
Another detail, maybe not that important, is something aesthetic. It's that, most fangs are placed between the first two pair of teeth. Good luck everyone. I hope ya'll get to see my final work after a few weeks and hit me with comments. Peace.

Okey Dokey. Minute 1:44 After you select the selection, you also need to select "Inverse" from the tab with the same name; that's Select. Between the tabs Type and Filter. Shortcut: Shift+Ctrl+I only this way will select ONLY the area selected. Again. This is on my Photoshop CC 2017. I don't recall having this issue before.

at 1:44 I'm creating the pen tool path and then making the selection. After this step I start clone stamping. Don't quite understand what you need to invert there.
ps: I also use Photoshop CC

But that is the only way that works for me. By choosing the Invert mode. And it is not only in this case. There's plenty of examples in which I have to do this or else, It won't work my selection, for instance, when I make a quick mask. Shortcut: q or the Lasso Tool, and so on.

When I try to use the clone stamp tool mine says: Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to define a source point).
Do you know what is causing this?

Yes, the issue is that you don't sample from an area first. You need to click on the area you want to sample from, while holding down ALT.
