Would love to have this in 4k but Paramount decided to change the colour timing, adding a garish teal look to the film. As for the artwork, they've gone with a font from the original 1933 KONG which, when combined with the awkward juxtaposition between steelbook and slipcase, looks extraordinarily cheap. Not surprised at all that Paramount cocked this one up as they've spent much of the last 30 years pretending this movie doesn't exist. The only reason they're putting it out now is because the Shout! Factory release proved to be a big seller and they didn't want to miss out on any residual profits.
Try the Scream factory version it does come with television cut if you look at the back cover and the trailer. Keep on doing more 4k ultra vs scream factory ❤ 🎉
I know it has the TV cut I was hoping the digital 4k would come with a 4k digital of the TV cut as well. Unfortunately the “4k” digital is only the theatrical cut and it looks just as good as the scream factory bluray
