Yeah, the F & M swap would be great, since both QBL Express lines are on 53rd Street while the M can be occupied on 63rd. Just for passengers that go downtown, Brooklyn etc on the E & F can choose if they want to go via 6th Av or 8th Av for their wish of choice. The M however sadly is a part time service and runs as a shuttle in late nights. To compliment 63rd Street for late nights in a scenario if the swap does happen, the F can run via 63rd for the M while the E stays on 53rd Street. If the M does get delayed during weekday service, the line can short turn at 57th Street, and 96th Street - 2nd Av, etc. The M may have 8-cars since it's "reduced" from 10 back from when the V was running a 10 car length trains (8-car 75 footers for R46s) until budget cuts occuring in 2009, which can cause a bit of more crowding for the current M service along 63rd Street. This could lead to some passengers being left out and waiting for the next M train along the line. Hope this explanation also helps as well. But great video!
The QBL express pre 2001 proved it's reliability when reinstated for the time of the 63rd Street rebuild, I notice that E and F trains are running faster throughout the entire corridor without being delayed because the switch operator needs to switch the track for each route

Honestly speaking, I prefer the current system pattern right now being the travel time on both the E and F trains have gotten much faster. I think the M train should run through the 63rd St Line with the F running on the 63rd St Line on Nights and weekends. Running the M through the 63rd St Line will definitely eliminate the deinterlining of express service in Queens. Keep the current service the same after April 1st
This Deinterlining plan would actually add more one seat ride options and not to mention that would have allowed the M to run during the Days on Weekends on QBL to support the R. Hopefully the MTA considers the F and M tunnels to be swapped permanently. Late Nights: F Trains serves 63rd. Days: M Trains serves 63rd St.
I suggest that the (F) should be swapped to the 53rd Street line on the (E). So my question is, starting on April 1, will the F continue to run via the E or go back to 63rd Line? I think the F should join the E since they do serve QBL express
The (F)/(M) Swap should be permanently when Queens Link happens for the (M) run via 63rd Street Tunnel, plus run on Rockaway Beach Branch via JFK Airport between 63rd Drive Rego Park Station in Queens Boulevard Local to The Rockaway's with the (A) Train, plus replace the Rockaway Park Shuttle Train. The (M) should be a full time line from Middle Village Metropolitan Avenue Station in Queens to The Rockaway's with the (A) Train's. Via Queens Boulevard Local Line from 36th Street Station to 63rd Drive Rego Park Station in Queens Boulevard Local Line, Via 63rd Street Tunnel. Also the (M) is based out of East New York Yard using 8-Cars of R160A-1's. The (F) should switch via 53rd Street Tunnel with the (E). To release the over crowing, the (E)/(F) runs Express in Queens Boulevard on the daytime and late nights (E)/(F) Train's run on Local in Queens Boulevard too, plus the (E)/(F) are based out of Jamaica Yard using 10-Cars of R160A-2's/B's. The (E)/(F) should be via 53rd Street Tunnel at all times. Lexington Avenue/53rd Street Station is always crowded for transfer to and from the (6). The (G) could return to QBL except late nights also for Queens Link for the (M).
If they swap the F n M then the F would have to use 63rd st overnight or you can run Midnight R service to Continental via 63rd. But I keep saying Jamaica Yard has to be expanded. The F can serve 63rd st on Midnights n Weekends but you're gonna have to make Continental a 24 hour terminal with the G or R. The M is going to stay as a Met to Essex shuttle.

One branch can go via 53 St, and the other via 63 St. Then they reunite at Rockerfeller Center. Much like the Northern Line splits between the Bank and Charing Cross branches at Camden Town and reunite at Kennington. Also, platform screen doors are hideous, and ruin the aesthetics of stations. The Paris Metro is one example.
@@BrianGomez8888 That’s not really how it works since no one is going to do that. Remember, the current M route is a combination of the old V route and a portion of the old M route, providing a new one-seat ride between Northern Brooklyn and Midtown while providing the same service the V route did, benefiting everyone. In essence there are still two ridership patterns: the Northern Brooklyn to Midtown crowd and the Queens Blvd corridor to Midtown crowd. The current M route is similar to the Red Line in Washington DC. The F service is best served on 63RD Street, the current patterns are annoying.
I know this has nothing to do with the video but anyway poor E train it's the only 8th ave line train that can't use the old trains like the r46s or r68s while the A & C trains atill can since the E runs on QBL which has CBTC I feel bad for the E train since its the only 8th ave line train that can't use the r46s or r68s.
Is there a complete track map of your deinterlining proposals et al, for us to compare with how lines currently work?
(Sorry if you have answered this question before, after a quick search i couldn't find the answer)
It’s in the petition
@@mood4eva98 i could only see the tracks of two stations there (by "complete...proposals et al" i meant all of the author's previous suggestions, not just the ones included in this particular video)
Boo, I quite liked this service pattern change tbqh
Wait so this means the F and M trains won’t run like it was before? And now they are doing a whole swap?
They're going back to their original service patterns, the current service was placed due to track work on 63RD Street Line.
MTA being stupid, as always…
Sadlt
I need to get a job then i will give you cash you have skills hot damn you teach me bout trainssssssssssssss
Seeing your previous video, and going back to my comment on restoring the old EFGR on the QBL, I had an idea: why not split the F into two branches a la the Northern Line in London? One branch can go via 53 St, and the other via 63 St. Then they reunite at Rockerfeller Center. Much like the Northern Line splits between the Bank and Charing Cross branches at Camden Town and reunite at Kennington.
Also, platform screen doors are hideous, and ruin the aesthetics of stations. The Paris Metro is one example.
Absolutely not the M is the split on the 6th ave local
@@qjtvaddict Well this idea would be if the G was restored on the QBL and the M restored to southern Brooklyn, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
No offense but like petitions aren’t gonna do shit
It does help us keep track of public support for this.
And also, we are reaching out to politicians. Many of them are interested in this.
@@jointransitassociation I mean true not wrong it can show how can people want it
The M going to forest hills is dumb and useless
How?
@@TheRailLeaguer what’s the whole point of starting in Queens just to go to Manhattan and end up in the same spot
That u-shaped route starts in Mongomery County in Maryland and proceeds through Washington DC and back north through Montgomery County to end about a few miles from the stating station. Yet I don’t see you complaining about that.
@@TheRailLeaguer I don’t live in Washington stupid
@@BrianGomez8888That’s not a valid reason, considering that the Red Line is doing well like the current M route.
