MSI Narrative this year: • The start of T1's 2nd Dynasty • RNG finally surpassing their limits • EU finally contending once again for a title • EG trying to save NA Talent now that it's too late
I've been winding down my league too. I was plat the last 3 years but when they removed the banner upgrades I just lost interest after hitting gold. That do it for you too?
From someone who's watched League pro scene since 2013 and watched pretty much all of those games live, this was a very very good video. Thanks DongHuap!
"Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time Caps joins a game, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land." At least thats how it feels, every game ahs a 50/50 shot at caps being the best player of all times or just being painfully average
Msi trophy is nothing compared to worlds tho. MSI requires you to win two series for 1st place as getting to knockout stage is pretty much free for cn kr eu
You make some of the opinions that you express in this video sound like facts, and I think that many would disagree with your statements, especially about 2022 t1 being the best team to ever set foot on the summoner's rift, aswell as Caps being some kind of inter that somehow wins by running down. 2022 T1 still has everything to prove. To ace a region is something, but the results that matter are the international ones, like MSI. Every year the cards are shuffled again and redistributed, no one can tell wich major region (to comprehend CN/KR/EUW) is the best anymore, new rookies arrive, teams are reworked, old losers are hungrier for victory than they have ever been and winners feel too comfortable to stay at the top. That is why we rarely see the same team winning twice in a row at an international tournament, even more so if they kept the exact same players, SKT T1 2015-16 being the sole exception and arguably the best team to ever exist based on achievements alone. We do not yet know if Korea regressed as a region, or if Europe is once again a serious contender, or if China will show off it's true strength in Bo5. Based on the results of today, it seems like T1 was too easy to beat to be called the best team to ever exist, and that you grossly underrated Caps and Europe. As for NA, I actually agree with your analysis on imports lowering the interest for the pro scene as a whole ; no one would want to have their region represented by talents that were not home-grown, that have not grinded the same server as the average silver, that do not have the same passion to represent it's due region, and that eventually just sit on their laurels and get the biggest paycheck in the LoL professional world without having to do anything to earn it. There is much more to do in a region with as many ressources as NA and it's all going to waste, it's now basically a B-scene for EU and KR players that do not hope to win anything anymore, and North America is their best retirement plan. As far as this video is concerned, this does seem to be the more accurate opinion, unsurprisingly as you stated being a NA enthusiast, and the only one I would agree upon. However, this does show that this video is poorly prepared and that you voiced your opinion on things that you did not seem to know so accurately, especially when it comes to the international scene and it's history as a whole, I'm afraid. This MSI matters, like every other MSI that was ever held ; it is not more special, and it will not hold more prestige for Europe or China to win this one because T1 went undefeated in their region. It will be like any other MSI, the team that rises on top will be the best team in the world and the region it represents the strongest region from the very moment it lifts the trophy up in the air until it does unavoidably lose before or during an international event along the path of greatness. You also proceed to picture RNG as T1 greatest rivals, when the argument could be made that G2 is actually their biggest nemesis ; they eliminated T1 at MSI 2019, and then proceeded to deny them a spot in the final at world 2019 by taking the semifinals 3-2. T1 clearly did not bounce back from these losses, as they were nowhere to be seen at 2020's worlds, failing to even qualify for the event. This MSI is the first time since the events of 2019 that these two teams are going to battle it out onto the rift. For T1 and Faker, there's a lot at stake, things are unsettled ; they must win to redeem themselves and defend their honour and pride. For G2, it is time to confirm that their place is at the top, that europe is a region not to be laughed at that deserves and demand respect, something that Europeans fans had hoped fNATIC would someday achieve, only to fall short in 2018 worlds finals after years of performing better and better, never to rise this high again. Caps is not a clown. He is one of the best midlaner in the world, and definitely the best performing one at MSI right now. He is a serious threat to xiaohu and Faker. He deserves better then being portrayed as some kind of wildcard buffoon that will either int it out or pull off godlike plays. The man performs. The man has always been there when it mattered the most. The same argument really could be made about what you said about xiaohu but I will stop myself there. If i wrote a whole book about why I did not enjoy this video it is because I usually find myself learning new things on your channel, and that I would have rated it peak league content, your work always seemed thorough to me and I was always happy to find that you uploaded something new. However this video does not fit the standard that I had grown accustomed to and I really felt like you did not do the appropriate research to express your opinion on LoL esports and what really is at stake at this year's MSI.
To be honest, you sound like you're just biased towards EU and wish that EU was represented using your views. He made the video using subjective words like best team, which obviously means that it's an opinion piece based off his views. He clearly states that he's biased towards NA in the video, even though he doesn't really hype NA as much as he could have. He chose to hype the two regions who have historically been the most dominant. Your disagreeing with his opinions doesn't mean he's wrong, it just means you have different definitions for what opinionated words like best means. For example, you define best by how much you win, whereas I would define best by my view of what absolute skills are shown. For example, people would say that SSW and old SKT teams are greatest of all times, while I would disagree because of my metrics. I would say that some of the more recent teams are much better because they have better macro and display better skills despite playing against better opponents even though they may not have won. Many people said 2016 TSM was one of the greatest teams at the tournament, including SKT because they were getting smashed at scrims - kinda like how SKT was hyping up G2 this tournament. But they choked, so spectators say they (NA) sucked. Again, different metrics.
@@emmag5879 he showed one single caps play which was a play in this MSI while he talked about every other star player for minutes at a time. However I didn't read anything past the first sentence
What's really cool and nerdy about keria's thresh or hooking champ in general is that he actually practices angles in which you can do a ballsy hook predict but if they don't flash, it'll still them. Does that makes sense? It's really amazing he thinks.
T1 came close this time, but I think RNG is a different monster. But to call Keria and Gumayusi the best bot in the world, that's preposterous...Guma is good, but Gala is Uzi's second coming...and Keria is a prodigy, arguably the best support in the world right now, but Ming has been playing for so many years and has so much international experience, it's just insane to count him out. Now that MSI is over, I guess we'll see what happens at Worlds and if other teams will rise up to contest them.
I can agree with all you said on the video But man, as a LATAM player, watching the msi just to get shitted on, like every year, or international event, just feelsbadman
I've just recently really been following the esports scene after a decade of playing, and this video perfectly summs up how much hype I do have for this MSI.

MSI does matter bcs historically every team that won MSI was at least top 8 at worlds of that year so it gives you good view on who is gonna be good in worlds
Wasnt fnatic the only worlds winner from eu? And even when g2 was at their peak "stringest team eu has composed" and favored meta they still didn't win worlds?
I dont agree with blaming imports, I fell like views personal investment in the game outside of pro play has lead to the decline of viewership. The game despite being really well balanced right now has the most frustrating solo queue experience due to teammates.
the viewership in NA is declining becuase the lcs as an entertainment product just doesnt have that same market value. its not even a racism thing, but i would want my home region to be represetned by players born in that region. for this year, impact is an exception becuase he has dedicated and commited himself to the region. even if eg now go 0-10 in the group stage, i would be happy that a team consisting of jojo and danny and vulcan got international training. watching 100t or TL go to msi and lose easy games after dropping 8 figures for their entire roster would be straight embarassing, and still highlights the lack of roster development and team infrastructures in the NA region
I dont really care about imports tbh, most of the traditional sport game has imports, why is no one calling that out? As long as the game is deliver well, i dont really care cause we the viewer benefit the most from watching the goods game
@@spicycurry7238 I think fan interaction is what's missing when it comes to imports. The sad part, to me anyway, is that most of the really passionate challenger players in every region are about equal in skill. There ARE good NA players, and we've seen some of them contend with even the best teams before. It's just team owners in NA tend to have awful lineups either full of B-tier imports to make them look prestigious, or just with a smaller number of players to select from. EU has a pretty similar issue. Both regions have amazing players that prove they're on the level of the Koreans time and time again by going to their server and getting challenger there too. It's just extremely rare to see a genuinely good team from NA or EU with no weak links on it.
Being challenger in korea does not mean those players are better than the best korean players, the same way an NA pro thinks the challengers in their NA game troll really hard.
@@xaint5298 No it's not. That's a completely idiotic myth started by morons based on absolutely nothing. Pro players ARE challenger players. In fact, a lot of the players drafted into pro teams aren't even the best Challenger has to offer; some of them can't even GET to challenger. And more importantly, there are plenty of high-end challenger players who routinely beat "pro players" while never having been on a pro team themselves. Do you honestly just think every good LoL player in the world is on a team and every player on a Korean team is the best of the best? You must be really simple if that makes any sense whatsoever to you.
As a T1 fan, I still have PTSD from last year's Worlds. The best team in the world vs the bottom seed of the region, up 2-1... surely that's a win.............. RIGHT!?!??

Being challenger in korea does not mean those players are better than the best korean players, the same way an NA pro thinks the challengers in their NA game troll really hard.
The gap of a challenger player and a pro player is huge, them getting challenger in Korea don't mean shy.te
@@tomsnow2872 See my response to Xaint because I really don't feel like repeating it just to explain why that's a stupid belief.
As someone from EU i'm also rooting for EG, not sure how well they'll do but glad NA talent is being noticed.
The na talent in EG are ironically the worst players in the team
You make amazing videos
"MSI doesn't matter"
- guys who can't get out of group stage
As a T1 fan, I still have PTSD from last year's Worlds. The best team in the world vs the bottom seed of the region, up 2-1... surely that's a win.............. RIGHT!?!??
Faker wasnt consider a god when he came onto the scene.
Damn Dong, everytime I uninstall league you make a dope hype video. Time to reinstall and tune into MSI
Join the chad esports pilled and only watch, league is a better spectator sport than video game to play anyway
@@moldveien1515 You should play a bit once in a while to understand whats happening. The patches add up a lot when you do a cold turkey in League
@@PRubin-rh4sr i do play with friends or take a game once in a while but i almost never play solo queue anymore
@@moldveien1515 if you are great in playing league then why don't you solo queue anymore ? I'm not bragging but i got challenger through solo queue and i think only 10 - 20 duo never been in a flex rank. That may be in AP server and i know EU and NA server thinks theyre the best server in the world but even though i quitted lol to pursue radiant in valorant i am still solo although this act in valorant i failed to get past immortal i strongly think that people who blames the game because they always lost whenever they are solo queing are the weakest players.
i meant 10 to 20 duo matches and i dont think you are weak but your mental thinking is weak. Dont try to think in a pros shoes, try to be yourself, forge your own gameplay and, I know for a fact you can do more, better than what you are right now. Distinguishing a playstyle that can be compared or closely related to others but when you found it out by yourself, then its your own and once you began to master it then i know you won't be able to go down in challenger once you get there, no matter what season it is except if you can't play a lot ofcourse.
bro hit us with the blackyspeakz thumbnail
Sheesh was about time for a new video
Didn't edg also stop t1 at msi? With the morg counter pick?
what's the name of the song being played during the gumayusi montage part? 3:00
Thanks for hyping up MSI for us. I don't really keep up with all the esports so this was a really fun watch
NA literally lives in a bubble. Watching NA final felt like a joke compared to other region. They can't even draft with thoughts
MSI matters bc i made this epic frag movie - donghuap
MSI doesn't matter to players that can't win it. Ironic.
DongHuaP!
12:50 + Faker was on his LB
4:02 EG apparently
best team in the history of league of legends
bro cant even beat the 4th seed
5:54 im sorry but this guy has 330cs at 21 minutes, when my adc cant even get 100 in 30
Spring doesn't matter for NA cuz there are no championship points. In every other major region spring matters
it just feels like such a disadvantage for teams to go to msi because of the summer split schedules+no actual merit in winning or participating except "better practice" vs a korean and chinese team but still .ajority of the tournament being vs minor regions
Yeah and the only worth while prize pool you got is prob 1 more spot for your reagion, the prize isnt as prestige as Worlds, you dont even have your own skins
And we got T1 vs RNG in the finals
This didnt age well. The worst EU midlaner just clapped Faker.
This didnt age well either, worst midlaner got clapped back
10:50 bad translation? Doinb is saying spring RNG is too good, ”春季赛RNG太猛“
Hey, weren't they the team that went for a Yuumi in the MSI Grand Finals?
besides calling caps the worst midlaner this video is fire 🔥🔥
That last part got me legit hyped. I haven’t watched LCS in years. Who are the most entertaining NA teams/players?
New C9 is pre cool. Watching TL crash and burn will be fun too (unless they get their shit together, in which case they will genuinely be top tier at worlds)(that will never happen)
Hans core kinda hype tbh
Whats the korean rap called that played at 1:30
its so funny waitching this video after guma run it down from msi until worlds
does anyone know the song name 3:20
Caps is back thats all I will say :)
"Best botlane in the world" get double killed twice by a minor region bot lane
"Shit on EU" losing all games against G2. NA is a joke and will ever be a joke xD
what chance does na have? NONE!
in the meantime: G2 beating RNG and T1 xD
Caps dad and plumy buff op
this doesnt age so well now does it?
@@fenrael3021 You do realize that a fact cannot age bad? G2 did beat RNG and T1. He said nothing about the future, he isn't making a prediction. He is stating a fact
@@shgalagalaa They did... but also had a massive loss streak and finally got trashed 3-0'd by T1
Guma was about to shit on every bot lane at this MSI but he forgot to take his pants off apparently.
LCK in the last of couple years has always been known as 1 team region were 1 team does good and the rest are just garbage. So saying they are at the moment best team in the history just because they got 18-0 is just overhype especially that bot lane.
In LPL or LEC and they would have never got that record.
G2 just destroyed the best team ever :D
Current T1 being the best team ever is some high tier lck copium tbh
@@shgalagalaa xd
@@shgalagalaa its funny because T1 just destroyed G2 :p
@@redzed9405 im an rng fan. T1 got rolled by NA my guy. How you gonna type about beating a minor region team while losing to a worse minor region XDD
@@shgalagalaa ok .First G2 is a good fuking team . Second EG play that game really well so T1 lost.I am not playing favorite, i am just saying T1 played out of their mind in these past few day ( yes they did troll some game)
So you’re telling me you’re more hyped about na talent over TL on paper super team
