I’m only 30 and I’d heard stories from my mum that my Nan used to wear no5 when my mum was younger and it wasn’t very well liked because it was really heavy and strong. So I was really surprised when I tried it tuesday that I liked it. In fact I liked it so much that I purchased the original no5 the l’eau no5 and the no5 eau premiere along with chanel coco.
I'm so happy I didn't see your review before I bought my new favourite perfume this autumn... eh, pissy? I think Eau Premiére is WONDERFUL!! My top complimented perfume, I now only use the OG N°5 on scarves and mittens during winter time, I spray them the day before , and then they have just the right faint and plleasant whiff of N°5 the next day.
Eau De Premiere is nice, it was just saying what people often said when smelling all three compared to each other. They all have their own unique personalities though. Have you tried the body line ? It’s so good.
Hi Christopher! Over the weekend I added Chanel No. 5 L'Eau to my collection. Wonderful, lovely scent, and perfect for this time of year, but it does seem to lack in projection and longevity. It is almost as if the fragrance lasts a couple of hours or so and then seems mostly gone. This may be a fragrance that needs a considerably greater number of sprays up front. The citrus notes up front are fantastic but the flower mid notes and the basenotes seem to be minimal.
That’s the only crappy part of this fragrance. The longevity is not great. But the scent makes up for it. It’s truly one that I could take a bath in 😂. I have gone through mare than 5 bottles of this I think. It’s also very wearable for all ages and genders.
Premiere is the best! Classy expsnsive yet modern- stands out from everything else in the crowd! I wore it to Dior and Guerlain perfume boutique in various times and i got many questions from the shops' SA what am i wearing becoz it was so good😂😂
Absolutely love L'eau! I went shopping for Chance Au Tendre EDP and tried No. 5 L'eau out of curiosity - it blew my away, especially for spring/summer. I ended up purchasing both, but EDT for L'eau. My only issue with L'eau is that it only last about 4 hours and then it fades to skin scent or you have to reapply. I'm not sure if there is a perfume version that might last longer but its a lovely fresh floral scent.
L’EAU is such an amazing scent. It’s smells so expensive, and modern. It’s hard to find a scent that smells expensive, but is not heavy. Unfortunately L’EAU is only an EDT. I don’t think they can create it into an EDP without compromising the sparkling citrus notes in the fragrance. L’EAU has to be one of my favorite Chanel scents. I’m glad you love it, as much as I love it 🥰.
Just found your channel. Thank you for a great video with historical information. Appreciate the research. Just got my hands on a bottle of Eau Premiere for a good price secondhand and am loving it. Wore Chanel no 5 edt as a Young woman but today it doesn’t seem interesting to me anymore. I find it dated.
Ditto! I happily made the transition from N°5 to eau Premiere in November, and I get much more positive feedback and compliments on Premiére, so I obviously smell nicer than before with N°5 😎😎
This is probably my favorite fragrance. I wear the eau de cologne from the 60s 70s and 80s and it is very acrid and woody, it’s glorious. The closest thing to its scent although much more weak is the deodorant spray. I wear every version though. My favorite version is the pure parfum. It’s the most sweet,floral and expensive smelling version.
I love the Parfum. The warmth of the may rose is amazing. Since you love No. 5 I think you’d really like the new Dior fragrance “new look” the scent fits in more at Chanel than at Dior.
For me Chanel Eau Premiere is the best version for people that N5 EDP is too harsh with us or too classic. Eau Premiere is the perfect version, classy but at the same time sweet and gentle. Unisex

Ok I have a question. I’m 17 and I just smelled Chanel No5 and I love it so much, but the only problem is I want to buy a bottle, but I’m worried that it’s a bit too mature. Is it ok if I wear it? Because I don’t want people to make fun of me
Im glad you love it! I would wear whatever you want to wear, at the end of the day you wear the fragrance, and make it your own. I would definitely check out L’EAU if you are worried about your fragrance being a people pleaser. But if not, wear what makes you feel confident and happy. You will never please everyone anyway. So might as well enjoy it for yourself , and not others.
Premiere is my favorite out of the three. Do you happen to know which of the exclusifs closely matches this one the most? I would like to move onto the exclusifs when I finish the current bottle of Premier
I think you would love Beige , COROMANDEL. They are close enough to no5 but have they own identity. They truly make some of my favorite winter and fall fragrance.
try No. 22, beige, 1957 and the new launch comete. if you like No. 5 you definitely have to give No. 22 a sniff cause it’s literally a different variant of the classic powdery note of the No. 5 DNA. i love No. 22 so much and wear it on special occasion. you spritz 3-4 sprays on your skin and it lasts all day. i can literally still get whiffs of it even after taking the shower. it’s THAT long lasting. give it a try at the boutique!
I’m glad you found your signature scent. It’s a beautiful scent. Maybe pissy wasn’t the best description. I feel that with L’EAU and the EDP having very different identities, it can leave premiere out in the cold. In comparison to the others in my opinion it doesn’t set itself apart to much. But it’s still no.5 and it’s a beautiful scent. I’m glad you love it! 😍

It’s not the the longest lasting but it’s not as bad as other fragrance brands. They have a lotion that you can pair with it, to make it longer lasting. Or you can use vaseline to make it last longer on the skin.

Don’t mean to be that girl but the Eau de Parfum was created in 1986 by Olivier Polge. Ernest Beaux created the Parfum in 1921 and the EDT came later in 1925 so did the Eau de Cologne. So the Eau de Parfum is nothing like the OG it’s beautiful but not like the Parfum, it’s a more modern version or reinterpretation of the original Parfum. So when you said Eau Premiere is the first reinterpretation that’s incorrect.
Beaux...pronounced "bow"...just like "L'eau" is pronounced "lo". I won't even get into "couturier"...but you mispronounced that, too. Notice that there is no "de" in "eau premiere".
It doesn't seem like you have much respect for No 5 the way you fling it around like it's a very inexpensive bottle of toilet water. You say you worked for Chanel-you don't seem to have much respect for this product.

Chanel No. 5 the pure perfume was released 1921 the one your are holding which is eu de perfum was released in 1980’s.
