Yes yes yes! I am so glad that you come up with this video. A lot of people turn up their nose when it comes to No.5 without understanding that it has its own class. The thing is, a lot my coworker who does not wear perfume adores No.5 on me, unlike my perfume-user friends. I cant express enough how much i love No.5. My bottle has a backup bottle, my back up bottle has a back up bottle, my backup-backup bottle has a back up bottle. You get the idea. I'm crazy about No.5.

My mom adores the smell of Chanel 5 and I think I’m going to get her a bottle for Christmas. First spray can be a bit harsh to my nose but the dry down is absolutely beautiful.

Eau Premier is my signature scent, and it makes me so sad when everyone talks down on the range. Especially since they always think I smell good. 😒
Eau première is so wonderful! Don’t worry I get that all the time as well, so many told me I smell amazing but said in the past they hated n5 😂 It’s very different when it’s worn I believe, but it’s timeless , and especially eau première is more modern ! Thank you 🤍
I tried to approach Chanel No.5 several times and never clicked with me. That’s until I tried Eau Premiere. This one I really liked and even got myself a 50ml bottle. It smells very similar to No.5 EDP but somehow it’s more modern and youthful. I’m really glad I found something for myself in Chanel No.5 range, after all it’s such a sophistication ❤
I love that perfume too... it is probably the most floral of the three, the most feminine and it is more modern smelling. The aldehydes aren't too much in that version too.

My first bottle was when I was around age 20, a bottle of no 5 eau de cologne that came in a rectangular splash bottle with a screw cap. It had a sweet, musky dry down, probably from ingredients that are now banned. It amazes me to recall the quality of that simple bottle. Presently, I have Eau Prémière (the first one) and an old spray mist in a black refillable case. Both are beautiful. I think the parfum will be my next purchase at some point. I also ADORE no 22.

It is ageist and suggests growing older = bad and youth is the only good thing. Eventually these fruity flower bombs that people wear will be “old lady” by newer generations. If they said “old fashioned” or a fragrance that speaks of times past that would be one thing. This “old lady” has loved Chanel No. 5 since she was 5 years old and it had been popular for so many decades before I was born. Chanel No. 5 always smells sparkly, clean, balanced and beautiful to me. It also smells different at different times and on different people!

Recently I bought the Parfum version of No. 5, and I was bewitched by the richness of its floral bouquet: it’s so well crafted, so velvety, warm, buttery, powdery, clean but also dirty in the best way possible. Utterly beautiful. The quintessential French perfume! I also have the EDP and Premiere, but I think the Parfum stole my heart completely lmao
I just recently bought the Parfum version. OMG! I love it. I can't describe it. I tried the eau de Parfum and eau de Toilette but never liked them. Because of these two I stayed away from the Parfum version thinking it's just a stronger version of them them. Boy, was I wrong! They still smell similar but I don't know why I love the Parfum better. It's fresh, powdery but very flirty too.

How wonderful to see a review of No.5 by someone who has a complete understanding of the different incarnations of the scent. I have always had a little bit of a "love/hate" relationship with this scent. When I was young I felt it smelled "old " and a bit stuffy. Now that I am older, I feel that I have grown into the scent in a way I can't quite explain and that it suits me better in a classic and mature way. I love the newer and more modern versions as well. I love all of them except the Eau de Parfum. And I agree, from all the hundreds of fragrances I tested in my life, there's nothing like No 5. I wear the Eau de Toilette all year, l'Eau in warmer weather, Eau Premiere when I need more vanilla in my life and the pure parfum when I feel the need to smell this pure perfection on myself, in particular indoors.
I’m only 30 and I’d heard stories from my mum that my Nan used to wear no5 when my mum was younger and it wasn’t very well liked because it was really heavy and strong. So I was really surprised when I tried it tuesday that I liked it. In fact I liked it so much that I purchased the original no5 the l’eau no5 and the no5 eau premiere along with chanel coco.
I bought the edp a few years ago knowing that I wanted to develop a relationship with it. At first, the lemon was almost harsh to my nose and the combo of powder with animalic edge was too much for me. But I’d sniff it at least once a week just to think about it. Now, I love wearing it on my skin and find it so striking and conceptually beautiful. I have the L’Eau flanker and I’ve been curious about the other iterations. L’Eau has been refreshing for this record-breaking summer where I live. Isn’t the journey we take with fragrance so fascinating?!

I love Chanel Coco and Allure and can’t say I have smelled any I don’t like. Until yesterday, I have avoided No 5 due to all the negativity and comments that it is old. Got a sample yesterday and 1 spray I can still smell 12 hours later. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I definitely don’t hate it or I would have been trying to scrub it off. Your video has me anxious to continue experimenting with this and the variations!

Lovely explanation. I now only have the EdT and Pure Parfum. I live in the tropic so the EdP doesnt even last or project, so I sold my bottle 5 years ago. I love No. 5 since I was a little boy in the 90s because it was my mother’s fragrance back then. Now I wear the EdT at nite or in colder days during rainy season. ❤❤❤

Hello Dear Clemence, I went out yesterday wondering which perfume to wear among my huge collection ( you have got more perfumes than Boots I have been told hahahahah) anyway I choose Chanel Number 5 in Edp. Unfortunately there is absolutely no longevity on me although I sprayed it on my skin and clothes. My stepmother gave me a bottle of No 5 edt for my 16th birthday and I've loved No 5 ever since. I have all of these, except L'Eau (not a fan). I always try other scents but come back to No 5 every time. Love love love. What are your thoughts on Pour Monsieur? To me it smells similar and I’m tempted to wear it.
I love all Chanel perfumes! Allure edt was my signature for years. But now it remindes me of a breaking heart and some bad times and I can't wear it. But other Chanel perfumes I wear and adore! There is something in Chanel perfumes that is so sofisticated and some undertone that you know it is Chanel. I have Eau Premiere version and I love it. I will get L'eau too. Did you meaby try new Gabrielle L'eau? I would love to know your opnion about it.❤
What I learned that it I combined this with a matching scent, it complete my natural scent. Try the scent with Cloud Pink. I was spray cloud pink, first, give it a few mins then, Chanel number five, the cloud pink. Beautiful combination.
I got a sample of God of Fire. Wow! I think on its own it is crazy good. As Fall and Winter comes I will add a spray to my Oud Wood and many other frags I have. I tried it with Oud Wood and also Dior Homme Intense. It does magic. I went 4 sprays Dior Homme Intense plus 1 spray God of Fire
I actually just purchased (blind buy) a bottle of Chanel N° 5 eau de parfum from Saks Fifth Ave yesterday and this scent has me confused lol. I like it, then I'm not so sure, then I'm back to liking it again, then wondering if it's worth the money, then back to yeah it's worth the money lol. I find the first sprays very harsh. After about 10-15 mins it's calmed down a bit. As time goes on it gets better but I feel every time I smell where I sprayed it, it smells different. Sometimes all I smell is powder and other times it's a strong musky powder and then very little powder with florals. I found it doesn't last more than 20-25 mins when applied to my skin. It lasts longer on my clothes and hair but it also smells different than the dry down on my skin. I prefer how it smells on my skin but again it fades way too quickly. It also gets to a point rather quickly that you won't smell it unless a breeze hits you or if you purposely smell where you sprayed which can have you spraying more and more because you think it's already worn off. I did the overnight test and sprayed myself an hour before bed and while I did still smell the fragrance when I woke up, it was VERY faint but I could still detect it. So how I felt about it overall: Can I see this fragrance on a woman in her 20's? Sure, I don't think age matters when it comes to scents. Wear what makes you happy! But I can see how some would consider this a fragrance for a mature woman. It's not giving bubbly, flirty, sugary or immature vibes. It's put together, sophisticated woman, old money vibes. Do I regret trying it? No. Will I use it until it's gone? Yes. Will I purchase it again? Probably not only because I just think it's a little too weak when it finally gets to the point where I like how it smells. Now I tried the eau de parfum, maybe if I try the more expensive parfum I would be happier with the results. I know there's an EDT but that is the weakest of them all so I would stay away from it.
Love the video! I’ve been looking to get my next exclusifs bottle from Chanel but can’t decide which one! Which of the exclusifs is the closes match (or has a similar vibe) to no.5 but is not as aldehyde heavy as no.22? I tend to reach for the Premiere flanker the most out of the no.5 range and love 1957 for a daily wear (it just feels a little too cold in winter :)) I’m after something clean but super feminine and a little cosier than 1957

I have a bottle of Chanel No 5 Eau de Cologne given to me by my great-grandmother. Is this concentration the same as the original Eau de Parfum? I heard that the Cologne was replaced by the Parfum in the 1990's.
Yes before the Eau de Cologne was actually pretty potent, I personally didn’t hear it has been changed to the Parfum, it has been remastered a bit, but yes it would be the closest to it as far as I remember !
The order of concentrations (in chronological order): Parfum (1921-), EDT (1928-), EDC (1939-1990), Eau De Chanel (late 1970s-early 1980s), EDP (replaced Eau de Chanel, 1986-) I can also confirm that the Parfum would be closest to EDC, although the newest formula isn’t as animalic/powdery. The Parfum, however, was the first concentration of N°5, so it did not replace Eau De Cologne - I think it’s discontinuation was just a matter of tastes changing over the decades.

Chanel>other designers IMO, and I've always felt that. If I HAD to pick just one fragrance for the rest of my life, it would be No. 22! My most versatile fragrance that has gotten me a lot of compliments, as well

Lovely explanation. I now only have the EdT and Pure Parfum. I live in the tropic so the EdP doesnt even last or project, so I sold my bottle 5 years ago. I love No. 5 since I was a little boy in the 90s because it was my mother’s fragrance back then.
Now I wear the EdT at nite or in colder days during rainy season. ❤❤❤

Hello Dear Clemence, I went out yesterday wondering which perfume to wear among my huge collection ( you have got more perfumes than Boots I have been told hahahahah) anyway I choose Chanel Number 5 in Edp. Unfortunately there is absolutely no longevity on me although I sprayed it on my skin and clothes. The smell was gone 15 minutes later :( Maybe the perfume would last longer......I am so exciting to watch new videos from you :) Have a nice Sunday evening 😊 xxx
Hmmm I think the eau de toilette might last longer actually in my experience ! That’s a shame, I have no problem personnally with it but it’s not the first time I hear that!

My stepmother gave me a bottle of No 5 edt for my 16th birthday and I've loved No 5 ever since. I have all of these, except L'Eau (not a fan). I always try other scents but come back to No 5 every time. Love love love. What are your thoughts on Pour Monsieur? To me it smells similar and I’m tempted to wear it.
Yessss agree on Pour Monsieur, I personnally love the eau de parfum because of its almonds notes, edt feels much citrus like, very nice !

I love all Chanel perfumes! Allure edt was my signature for years. But now it remindes me of a breaking heart and some bad times and I can't wear it. But other Chanel perfumes I wear and adore! There is something in Chanel perfumes that is so sofisticated and some undertone that you know it is Chanel. I have Eau Premiere version and I love it. I will get L'eau too. Did you meaby try new Gabrielle L'eau? I would love to know your opnion about it.❤

What I learned that it I combined this with a matching scent, it complete my natural scent. Try the scent with Cloud Pink. I was spray cloud pink, first, give it a few mins then, Chanel number five, the cloud pink. Beautiful combination.

I got a sample of God of Fire. Wow! I think on its own it is crazy good. As Fall and Winter comes I will add a spray to my Oud Wood and many other frags I have. I tried it with Oud Wood and also Dior Homme Intense. It does magic. I went 4 sprays Dior Homme Intense plus 1 spray God of Fire

I actually just purchased (blind buy) a bottle of Chanel N° 5 eau de parfum from Saks Fifth Ave yesterday and this scent has me confused lol. I like it, then I'm not so sure, then I'm back to liking it again, then wondering if it's worth the money, then back to yeah it's worth the money lol. I find the first sprays very harsh. After about 10-15 mins it's calmed down a bit. As time goes on it gets better but I feel every time I smell where I sprayed it, it smells different. Sometimes all I smell is powder and other times it's a strong musky powder and then very little powder with florals. I found it doesn't last more than 20-25 mins when applied to my skin. It lasts longer on my clothes and hair but it also smells different than the dry down on my skin. I prefer how it smells on my skin but again it fades way too quickly. It also gets to a point rather quickly that you won't smell it unless a breeze hits you or if you purposely smell where you sprayed which can have you spraying more and more because you think it's already worn off. I did the overnight test and sprayed myself an hour before bed and while I did still smell the fragrance when I woke up, it was VERY faint but I could still detect it. So how I felt about it overall: Can I see this fragrance on a woman in her 20's? Sure, I don't think age matters when it comes to scents. Wear what makes you happy! But I can see how some would consider this a fragrance for a mature woman. It's not giving bubbly, flirty, sugary or immature vibes. It's put together, sophisticated woman, old money vibes. Do I regret trying it? No. Will I use it until it's gone? Yes. Will I purchase it again? Probably not only because I just think it's a little too weak when it finally gets to the point where I like how it smells. Now I tried the eau de parfum, maybe if I try the more expensive parfum I would be happier with the results. I know there's an EDT but that is the weakest of them all so I would stay away from it.

Love the video! I’ve been looking to get my next exclusifs bottle from Chanel but can’t decide which one! Which of the exclusifs is the closes match (or has a similar vibe) to no.5 but is not as aldehyde heavy as no.22? I tend to reach for the Premiere flanker the most out of the no.5 range and love 1957 for a daily wear (it just feels a little too cold in winter :)) I’m after something clean but super feminine and a little cosier than 1957

I have a bottle of Chanel No 5 Eau de Cologne given to me by my great-grandmother. Is this concentration the same as the original Eau de Parfum? I heard that the Cologne was replaced by the Parfum in the 1990's.
Yes before the Eau de Cologne was actually pretty potent, I personally didn’t hear it has been changed to the Parfum, it has been remastered a bit, but yes it would be the closest to it as far as I remember !
The order of concentrations (in chronological order): Parfum (1921-), EDT (1928-), EDC (1939-1990), Eau De Chanel (late 1970s-early 1980s), EDP (replaced Eau de Chanel, 1986-)
I can also confirm that the Parfum would be closest to EDC, although the newest formula isn’t as animalic/powdery. The Parfum, however, was the first concentration of N°5, so it did not replace Eau De Cologne - I think it’s discontinuation was just a matter of tastes changing over the decades.

@@LaMartinRivers The EDT is the woodiest of them all, I would say. It’s not too woody, despite me just saying the opposite, however I think that the woods get a chance to shine more in the EDT.
