- Welcome back! The purpose of this video is to help those who are farming shiny legendary Pokemon or just otherwise struggling with the new Dynamax Raid Lairs (Adventures?) in the new Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra dlc expansion. Because not everyone will have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, or because you don't want to wait for matchmaking, partying up with three friends and playing coop may not be an option for you. OR if you are like me, you like the additional, albeit frustrating at times, challenge of playing with the ai because let's face it, Pokemon is not a hard game. All that said, I'm here to share my tips after playing over 50 Dynamax Adventures solo and how to best prepare yourself to win as many times as possible!

Picking the weakest link is an interesting strategy. The thing that bugs me is your ai don’t dynamax, thus them having the strongest pokemon and not able to do as much damage as possible. This mode has huge flaws and kind of disappointing since i don’t like relying on others
Ya for sure, them never dynamixing does make life much more difficult and I agree. There are times where the ais will just ruin a run for the sake of ruining it
I pick the pokemon bad for the final pokemon because the ai loves to pick the worst pokemon 99%
The problems are very frustrating, but they make sense. The shiny chance being so good and it basically being free legendaries means there has to be something that makes it hard.
10 times and failed everytime. Now I watched ur video and that single "choose the worst pokemon" advice helped me win first try :D

is solo hunting kyogre possible? he just wipes the AI and they arent smart enough to ever possibly avoid it.

Had a Ditto on Groudon. It kept using earthquake...
It's possible but it's very hard cause of both of those moves. Only managed to catch around two of them out of many.
I like how the AI we vs like Leon are actually smart like they use full restores and super effective hits and what not but then when we have AI on our side they are absolute trash XD

Only had pokemon sword for a couple weeks now and just got the dlcs a couple days ago. Couldnt figure out the raid lair thing but this video, even being a few years old already, was the first result i got when i looked up a help guide. Thanks to your video, i got the starting legendary (suicune) without a single NPC pokemon, or mine, getting knocked out. So thank you for the amazing vid, it helped a lot!
I was getting really frustrated today trying to catch legendaries. Just bad luck. Weak teams. Always getting one-shotted. I'm going to try this tomorrow. Thanks a lot! These sound like really good tips. :)

Love the tips. Its just this game is cheap. From paralyzing me during my dmax turns, to giving us all a disadvantage right from the start, to having the cpu using acupuncture on my other cpus Malamar which has contrary. This mode is out for blood

I wish I could play without the NPCs. They just spam the useless moves. I had to battle zygarde over 10 times (and im still battling it).
I’m shiny hunting zygarde with npcs and I can’t count how many times they don’t take an ice type or go in with low health mons. I finally got the shiny after 155 adventures and winning 22 of them
I’m over 3 year late yet this still helped got mewtwo first try

Some good tips in the video! I will say any legendary with a spread move like surf is pretty much impossible to solo without extremely good luck.

Jesus Christ I am having enough of a hard time against Solgaleo and Xerxes and they don't even have spread moves... that is crazy
When the NPC clearly has a suprt effective move but keeps spamming Rock Polish

I tried picking the weakest rental and I ended up with a squad of pyukumuku with only status moves, jigglypuff, ninjask and an actually solid toxtricity that's completely out of my control 🤠

I don’t have a problem with if I’m solo or not. I’ve gotten the hang of it but what makes me upset is when I get knocked out of the den when I’m close to defeating the legendary. Even when I have a Pokémon has the advantage. I’m on a reshiram shiny hunt so it won’t be easy.
Ive been solo shiny hunting kyurem for the last couple days, I can only kill him once every 2 or 3 raids and its easily the most annoying hunt ive tried. The NPCs have been frustrating me into stopping hunting for the day after like 4 or 5 raid, which is crazy because normally I can hunt for hours.
its near impossible to me to beat any max lair solo, not only bcs its 65s vs a lv100 legendary, but the ai is just so bad

I wonder if doing matchmaking then going in a raid on the first one then resting the switch to skip is faster because you skip one then play the rest with bots.

Well…. One thing about these Max Den battles is, basic poke balls don’t have a ‘fail’ rate against even the legends! But idk if the info is really going to help- lol hard thing to help with though imo…
Was hoping there was a trick to get the legend you want… Kyruum and Risham from Pkmn Black & White are my two MAIN target Pkmn but ain’t seen them yet… While watching this in a Den run I saw it was type: Fire and was a bit excited thinking it might be that fire dragon… But alas it was Heatran. But I did end up getting it so… Both a win and a loss of sorts lol 😅
I have a better but a lot grind-ier. Get A LOT of Dynite Ore and find what I like to call a "perfect raid". once you begin a raid offline, that raid will be the exact same with the same pokemon but everything about the pokemon will be different. the shinyness, the gender, the perfrect stats, and the nature. this means you can reset for a shiny pokemon. I myself got a shiny landourus by doing this. the perfect raid consists of everything going right. the item doesnt matter. as long as you and the cpus get the right pokemon and arrive with losing zero - two lives in each raid. what matters if if your team can safely kill the legendary each and every time. final thing to note: you dont waist pokeballs. so if you have 999 dynite ore and want shiny kyogre in a dream ball then go for it. jsut know if you find a shiny that isnt the target and take it, THATS IT. youve just gotten rid of a perfect raid that you could reset on. now in the case of online, as long as you consistantly remain the host then you should be able to keep the raid. if you join and start someone else's raid by accident then you have lost your perfect raid. if you have a perfect raid offline then go online it will be different. if you complete the raid and take or dont take something then that offline raid will be gone for good. same vise versa. everytime i said raid i meant dynamax adventures.

7:10 Im playng the dyna adventure while watching and for some reason my morpeko and the morpeko in this vid made the hunger switch at the same time and the same dark form. I know is stupid but for me it was confusing at first then funny xD

i just need proof that the shiny odds are the same in offline mode .. i have done so many of these and i want to know if doing this online increases the odds of getting a shiny. its 1/100 and i still have not gotten one after at least 150 runs .. its truly pathetic odds still

If I catch the legendary and is not shiny can you choose at final another pokemon and still try to get the shiny one?
No! As soon as you choose the legendary it will be gone forever

2 yrs late but I finally caught mew2 while watching
What I do when I don’t have any good Pokémon in the path ahead of me, I reset and choose a different target that the Pokémon are better suited for.(If none of my saved legendaries have good paths at the moment, I roll the dice and see what random legendary I can find😅)
I have been farming for a week for Zekrom. Not as a shiny. Just for him to SHOW UP. I'm playing shield, so he's in there. But he just won't show up. Peonia has never sold him either.

so the pokemon you catch, that don't appear to be shiny can become shinies when you complete the Lair adventure??

I heard that if you capture the final Pokemon i.e Entei for example, if it is not a shiny and you capture it it will not drop as a shiny in the future. Can anyone confirm this? (I have not caught for that reason)
Correct. Every legendary Pokemon can only appear once until you catch it and then will never show up again.
@@LetsNot Okay thanks for the information luckly I caught my tapu as a shiny, but I still do not know what to expect when I got for my regeki I got one on a random trade shiny but idk if I can farm for one now or not.
Since I have to play on a emulator and do not own a Switch or Nintendo Online, I can now hopefully do this, I tried 8 dynamax adventures today and the 3 other pokemon only buffed throughout everything, I hated it all

Any should be possible, but I havent tried those 2 yet! Some require specific strategy like Wide Guard for Landorus, etc. I'd just need to see their movesets!

7:35 having dumb ass AI is not fun, there is a difference from something being difficult to loosing a run because your teammates were entraining the whole time, DA’s is such a horrible mode to have for shiny hunting and not well future proofed

tbh the AI guys were always smarter for me than normal online players that ALWAYS pick the bad mons and ALWAYS pick the wrong paths i once had a guy dynamax his jolteon on a zygarde and use max lighting over and over when i was galareon mr mime i was like why not just pass and it would go to someone who could actually use it lol

You can't catch the same legendary twice
if you choose not to catch it, or have already caught it in a dynamax adventure before, it will run away

same. solo zygarde has been impossible and no one ever joins from matchmaking so it’s kinda forced solo

It’s not challenge. A challenge is supposed to be hard but u still have control over it. You barely have any control over this mode. It’s basically rng, and pray that your ai friends isn’t dumb and uses the right move.
Rng =\= challenge.
You have a solid point. It's all about using the control you do have to mitigate they RNG as much as possible though!
@@LetsNot True, that's the most we as human players can do. But i'm just not convinced with game companies introducing RNG as a means of challenge as soon as the players needed one esp in the endgame. Because let's be honest the end game content in sword/shield pre expansion like the battle tower etc has been the easiest compared to previous games. And gamefreak was like, "ok too easy? here's RNG, there you go, CHALLENGE." It comes off as lazy.
